Pendant A - the opaque filter is nice when lights are near eye level. Also, I appreciate the long-form muddling and taping video - it makes the prospect of doing it myself more approachable! Keep up the good work! 22:44
Pendant A. I would like to see a mix of metals in the kitchen. If not go with no hardware for the cabinetry??? Excited to see the channel grow in 2025!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I am not into physically doing home renovation but the process and ending is so enjoyable to me. You’re both extremely informative and enjoyable to watch!
I don't know if anybody's mentioned it in the comments yet, but doing the corner bead With the plastic, you can also use Staples, It holds really well. That's what we used to do back in my day.👍 but I love the content you guys have a great chemistry may you have a fantastic new year.
If you want a warm white paint that coordinates with the wood cabinets, I painted my family room and the upper walls of my kitchen Benjamin Moore's Simply White. I also have brown cabinets and a lot of brown/cream neutrals throughout my kitchen, and the Simply White really makes them look rich. I also painted the lower half of my walls an olive green color and I think adding some of those green accents will look super nice with what you guys have going on in your kitchen design.
Pendant A Off white color for sure…I don’t know which names I also vote that you get granite that is close to Taj Mal. Love it! The kitchen will be gorgeous. Can’t wait!
It may be good to stick with the same color from the living room into the kitchen. Both pendents are nice, but if you could find a mix between both. If you found a very modern yet traditional looking one, it would look awesome. Love you guys, and Happy New Year
I think both of those pendants are really nice for the space but as someone who has some clear lighting shrouds in their home id pick A, as the frosted glass will act as a light diffuser and it won't be as in your face when you're in the room. Those Edison style bulbs look really fancy when theyre turned off but with the clear shroud theyre just a bit too bright for me so I'll be updating mine soon.
Useful tip to make things easier add some water and maybe a small shot of dish soap to your bucket of mud it applies easier and you get less air bubbles that leaves pinholes when dry 😊
Looooook, I'mma say what everyone's thinking. Bianca def. tasted the mud when no one was looking LOL!! Watched the past few videos & you guys have been going HAM on this kitchen reno guys!! Blessings for 2025 guys, Dirty Jersey out!!!! Oh & I vote pendant A!!!!!!!
Try soaking the paper tape in a bucket of water and squeezing the excess off before adding it to the mudded seam. I’ve found it to stick well and help smooth the mud better
Visually, my preference is pendant A, but kitchen lighting needs are so specific, my advice would be to buy one of each and test them out. Yes, you'll end up wasting a bit of money, but that's preferable to being stuck with inadequate kitchen lighting.
Awesome video, as always!! I say pendant B because you might get more light vs the opaque style of pendant A! So excited to watch this transformation unfold!! 🎉
Pendant A absolutely. Also with how many times bianca comments on grahams arms it wont be long before she gets knocked up lol. also Can I ask why maple is being trained to be a service dog.
Love the videos. I almost feel like you should have furred out that wall near the upper stairs to get it to be flat all the way up so you didn't have to worry about mudding and taping that small of an area. Would also avoid the fact that little shelf will likely collect a lot of dust over time
I'm preferable to pendant A. And if you're doing a walnut and brass fixtures then a shad of white walls would be a slick look. What color is the living room again?
@@GoldenKeyDesign Then I'd say keeping with that same white through to the kitchen. Add color with the decor. You guys are kicking ass. Keep up the good work.
the glass on b is more interesting I think but the frosted glass on a will be better to look at since u won't be staring at a light bulb but a glowing light if that makes sense
For the kitchen pendants, A for sure. Exposed bulbs glare like crazy and make the space feel harsh and uninviting. If you go with B, install a dimmer, you'll thank me later. ;)
Pendant A. (am burnt on hanging pendants - especially loooooong ones.. so if ever I were to buy + install "A", I'd cut-off [at least] 1/3 of the stem -- and then put in 3 instead of 2...).
Awesome upload! It’s fascinating learning from different people their tips & tricks about drywall! Especially in attics, then the paper bubbles, it seams (haha) like the wall could come down! Will the kitchen lights be dimmable? Then B. If not, the soft diffused light would be warm & cozy transition to the living room. Yikes, that is a difficult decision!
Something to think about with the pendants is how easy they are to clean. I have had glass pendants that always looked dirty, and I had to take the entire thing apart to clean them
I said this below comment on your last video but I don't think you saw it. Regarding kitchen layout. "one idea I had which I think is a possible improvement is to put the peninsula the other side of the doorway you have, in the space between the doorway and living room. This would flow better and allow stools to face the TV . Having your current configuration means you'll have to walk around the peninsula to enter the kitchen. Just an idea! Could also mean you can centre the island on the oven and/or make the island bigger if you wanted"
@GoldenKeyDesign fair. But even without the seating, I think it's an option to consider. Unless you're using that area for something else. It will make the kitchen seem a lot bigger to have the peninsula there. All the best.
Hey I love your work and ideas❤ Quick question to do these remodeling do we need permit? I'm looking to follow your videos and do my kitchen and bathrooms.
Pendant A (vote from both my husband and myself)
Oh how I missed you golden key design. Yall are some of my fave home renovators. Please never stop making these vids.
@@Dontyellatm3 Thank you so much!! Renovating can be tough but we get so excited to share our progress with you all and hear your feedback ☺️

Pendant A! I love diffused light.
Woke up to a new reno video; it’s a good day!
Saturday mornings are the best haha!! Thanks for watching 😊
Pendant A for sure. MCM vibes work with this house
Pendant A for sure! A nice light sage green could be nice!
Pendant A. I would like to see a mix of metals in the kitchen. If not go with no hardware for the cabinetry??? Excited to see the channel grow in 2025!!! 🎉🎉🎉
A for sure. Diffused lighting really warms up the area.
Thank you for being real and teaching us in the process.
Pendant A is my vote!
You guys have quickly become my favorite channel. Thank you for producing the content. Leagues above HGTV!!
Thank you so much!! We really appreciate the kind words ☺️
18:47 that thing is hungry! 🤣🤣🤣
18:53 All full!! **Burp**
Morning coffee with a new GKD video. Love it!
So glad you enjoy it! We watch the episode drinking our coffee as well 😊
I am not into physically doing home renovation but the process and ending is so enjoyable to me. You’re both extremely informative and enjoyable to watch!
Happy New Year to you 🎉!!! Choice A will give you a better diffused ligth. Kisses from France 🇫🇷 !!
Pendant A. So glad you're back! Happy New Year 🎉

The excitement when I got this notification!! Happy new year guys!
Thanks for following along! Happy new year 🎊
Pendant A! The shape looks great and pendant B looks really granny-old-fashioned.

I really like pendant A, The fogged glass is wonderful for keeping from blinding yourself if you glance at it.

A- just watched the kitchen entire series, amazing job so far and thanks for the tips!

Great idea! Thanks for the tip
Definitely go with black. Then do a wrought iron and wood stair railing.
Definitely B (pendant)! Happy new year to both of you, and Maple!
Love both pendants, but for a kitchen I think B works best because you want more direct lighting than diffused lighting.
Pendant A for sure!
Visually, my preference is pendant A, but kitchen lighting needs are so specific, my advice would be to buy one of each and test them out. Yes, you'll end up wasting a bit of money, but that's preferable to being stuck with inadequate kitchen lighting.

A! (Exposed bulbs suck for us visually impaired people!)

That’s what we’re leaning as well. Family room is an off-white neutral color
@@GoldenKeyDesign Then I'd say keeping with that same white through to the kitchen. Add color with the decor. You guys are kicking ass. Keep up the good work.
@@dougfraser7635 thank you!! 😊

Pendant A.. Happy New Years from Austin Texas!
Pendant Buh buh B! For the win
Pendant A! So pretty.
I love pendant A!
Pendant A! Seems more cozy
For the kitchen pendants, A for sure. Exposed bulbs glare like crazy and make the space feel harsh and uninviting. If you go with B, install a dimmer, you'll thank me later. ;)
Pendant A, you guys are doing a great job!
B looks better but i'd go with A. The light can be harsh without the fogged glass diffusers
Great choice 😏
Happy New Year!!! Great video... Pendant A
Use B it’s got more character, and use an off white because you can tie color into the decor and natural wood tones
A for sure!
You guys could have taken some tips from Stud Pack's recent drywall video. Some of the tips Paul gave would have helped here, imo.
Especially thinning the mud..
Both are nice but B is the one - clear all day! My wife co-signs.
Pendant A. (am burnt on hanging pendants - especially loooooong ones.. so if ever I were to buy + install "A", I'd cut-off [at least] 1/3 of the stem -- and then put in 3 instead of 2...).

Yikes, that is a difficult decision!
We choose option B.
But hard to decide, we need to see a table design, please!
Wait....did we missed the engagement ❤❤congrats ♥️ 👏 💕 💖
We announced it at the end of EP5 - thank you!!
Something to think about with the pendants is how easy they are to clean. I have had glass pendants that always looked dirty, and I had to take the entire thing apart to clean them
FYI
Order of process.
1 prefill
2 butts
3 flats
4 angles
5 corner bead
So that all tape ends are secured under other tape.
Great tip, appreciate it! Now we know for next time 😅
So funny, I’m a pendant B person but maybe I’m the majority, just seems like higher quality and classy!
Pendant A for sure.
Pendant A 💯
Happy New Year, pendant B

Thanks for the comment and great idea! The length of that wall isn’t long enough to accommodate cabinets plus a countertop overhang unfortunately 😞

Pendent A for sure
Pendant A. Also you all should go into the flipping business
Thanks for another good video. I've been following you guys for a while from Sweden. I'd go for "A" :)
Pendant A, but I liked them both!
Team Taj Mahal!! 🎉
White countertops stains a looot 😢
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you too! 🎉
@ Thank you!
Hmm, tough choice! I like pendant A better but they are both elegant, I wouldn’t be mad with either
A is our choice!!!
oh i am SOOO team A!!

I like A, B looks like you'll get more light though
The pendants are both beautiful but pendant A has a softer tone looks nicer.
Pendant A
Pendant B! 🎉
Pendant A!
I like A but whatever you decide will be perfect.
I like them both but I think I like B more!
Pendent A seems like a better choice.
A. Love Taj Mahal!
Pendant B!
My wife and I say pendant B!
how come you didnt cover the screws on the hot mud step?
A All Day!
Not sure if anyone asked this question before. Why not make the wall flat in front of basement stairs. Sort of bothering.
Love choice A
All my channels are back from the holidays. Now I know what day it is lol
start at the middle when you're taping.
Good tip! Thanks
Lol can you build a round table she asks 😂
I like the A
Pendant A for sure
