I make candles and I have been working on my carving skills. People like her make it look so easy but it is very hard to do. The few I have made cooled before I was finished so they are only half carved. This is a beautiful candle. You are very talented!
Try using a heat gun (like the ones sold in the paint department) to warm up the areas that didn't get carved. It will melt the wax slightly, enabling you to carve those spots. Just hit it with the heat gun lightly--too much and the candle will be ruined. Work small areas at a time. Be careful not to burn yourself with the heat gun or the wax.
i think i heard that if the wax if cracking that means its too cold... the wax that you carve is different from the middle, which is the part that melts. The middle part is a normal candle
@maryamubarak ........Make sure that you are using " dipping wax ", it is wax that is specifically made for this procedure, it has a long set time which allows time enough to carve it.
I'm afraid I don't know much about glazing. I'm not an expert on candles; I just know a few general tips. I guess it depends on if you want to burn the candle or not. It also depends on the type of finish you want--matte or shiny. I'd be inclined to use beeswax if I wanted to burn it, but it would discolor the candle (slightly yellowish gold). If you're NOT going to burn the candles, maybe something like water-based Modge Podge would work (a few coats, perhaps). Sorry I can't be of much help.
Hello, I just stumbled on this video and would really like to contact this lady. I would like to learn how to make these candles , the kind of glaze she used and many other thoughts, please help. Thanks
