If you don't have a socket the size of the new seal, why don't you just put the old seal on top of the new one and use it as the driver? You can hammer flat down on the old seal and not worry about it being damaged.
@@BackCountryWrenching I understand !! But yet your last live was 80/20 just asking about things going on. Life happens people gomma ask , can't blame.em
Good job so getting that blind bearing out. Sometimes you just gotta go with a big hammer or some fire, or both! I did mine some years ago, everything came out easy. It's still running like a Swiss watch, so I assume I got all the parts back in properly. Also important to note for those that may not know, that the 241 is a Rubicon 4:1 ratio t-case vs. the 2.72:1(?) on the non Rubicon Wranglers.
I’m replacing main parts of the transfer case (NP 241 J) of my Jeep. I have to insert new oil seals. The seal outer edge (metal) will go to contact with its position outer edge (aluminum) of transfer case. To seal this contact, I’m thinking to apply a thin layer of Permatex Gear Oil Gasket Maker 81182. Besides, when I removed the oil seal over the planetary assembly, so to extract the planetary and then remove the input shaft bearing (5072458AA), I had to demolish the oil seal and doing so I made some scratch to aluminum edge. Replacing the new oil seal (its metal outer edge is covered with a gummy thin layer), I’m thinking to put a very small quantity of 81182 gasket maker only on the scratched zone (to prevent future oil leaks). What do you think about? Thanks a lot in advance
Hello do you happen to kno if that kit you got for the Non Rubicon T case parts will work on a Rubicon T Case? Primarily the drive chain. Noted your bearing an 1 seal won't interchange. Mine is a 2014 Rubicon. Thank you for making these videos!
And yes buddy you are correct the 06 to 11 jeep uses a 42RLE trans . Ask me how i know 😂 107 miles in limp mode is how i know 😂😂 oh and some fyi there are 2 versions of it , it has to do with the amount of wires in the plug . If i remember right one has , 3 and one has 4 , i think its either that or 3 and 2 i forget lol . Hey im in my early 50’s cut me some slack 😂😂
How many miles do you put on your Jeep to have to do all this maintenance I drive a 2012 Z71 four-wheel drive Chevy and I never had to do anyting to the truck cuz it's all good and I put on about 40,000 miles
I was kind of disappointed that the snap ring didn't go flying across the garage. haha Hey Jerry I posted a new C4 Corvette repair video today, I know you like OBD1 technology mixed in with some fiberglass.

Question......Why aren't you at the Trucker convoy rally?
How do you know he’s not? this isn’t a political channel so why ask questions about the flu or protests.
That’s correct I keep politics out of my channel now unless it’s a live stream. People don’t want to hear about that
@@stevenaylor5163 everyday things don't need to political unless you make it that way ( a question no matter what it is is still a question)

@@barrycriswell8967 no that’s true but I wasn’t at the Rally even though there is one close to me

Would like to see you inspect the bearings to see if you can find which one was bad.
Nothing like a good old shit show Jerry....Your hair is definitely getting wild...😂😂👊👍👍

What was the puller you used at the beginning? That type looks handy.

Nice job! Do you think that pump has metal shavings in it?
I don't think so that screen would have caught it.
