Please Please NEVER stop making videos! You are amazing at teaching. Please teach my Professor how to teach! He can't "dumb" it down enough for me to understand him. Who knew there was such an amazing Professor on RUclips sharing the knowledge in a way that is so understandable. I wish I can take your class instead! THANK YOU!!!!
I had to come back and say THANK YOU!! I watched your videos before my test and did better than I thought I would. I am in college and you somehow explained this better in twenty minutes than my professor did in a 45-minute lecture.
2022 y'all?? Having this explained in a different way than it was in class, it makes so much more sense. I was driving myself batshit crazy trying to comprehend what made a statement T or F
I can not tell you how much I appreciate you! I'm, after a long break, trying to finish up my degree and because of COVID I have to take math online. I have the hardest time with math and trying to self teach myself is a nightmare! Thank you so much!!!!!!
I’ve now watched all your tutorials on truth tables and found them very good. I was wondering whether you could put up a video showing how truth tables are used to demonstrate how logical arguments can be shown to be either valid or invalid.
I dream of a superhero called Logic, which shoots logic gates as projectiles, has an ultra move called Exclusive OR that explodes heads, and a shield that is a truth chart. This hero makes the weak minded cower.
MEN you should Please do more topics, cause you explain this very simple and is so easy to understand. My professor makes it hard. Anyways Thank you for making Truth table so easy i really appreciate Your hard work. Thank you Again
Thank you so much! You totally rock and really helped me to understand this whole truth table thing, as well as let me keep intact the shred of sanity I had left by the time I found your little 'series' lol.. You are much appreciated!!
thank you so much for these oh my god!! my lecturer is not great at explaining them and i was so worried that i was the only one who didnt understand them. but these have helped so much!!!!
Hi! I'm talking to someone who is interested in learning methods of demonstrating propositions are false by definition (logically impossible) or true by definition. I'm planning to share truth tables with him for this purpose, but I'm a little rusty. Can you tell me if I am making a mistake or missing something relevant? When all the rows of a column have an F in them, like the column for 'P and ~P', that demonstrates the proposition is logically impossible. What it's showing us is that there's no possible truth value assignment to its sub-propositions (or 'variables') where all are true at the same time, because whenever one is assumed true, another is implied to be false. Then I'd like to say a similar thing for columns with only T, like 'P or ~P', being demonstrated true by definition.
each variable you add doubles the amount of rows you need. 2 variables = 4 rows, 3 variables = 8 rows, 4 variables = 16 rows, etc. So in the 3 variable case, you have 8 rows, and for any of the 3 variables, half of the entries will be T and half F. Hope that helps.
write the 3 variable table with Q R and S, then make an exact copy of it right beneath your original copy. For the top copy, put T for all of the entries for P. In the bottom copy, but F for all of the entries of P. Hope that helps!
Another method, is to think of it as counting in binary. You just convert 0's to True and 1's to False (or vice versa, it doesn't matter). This method will work for any number of variables :) What's zero in binary? That's your first row. 00000 What's one in binary? That's your second row. 00001 Then 00010, 00011, 00100, etc. Continue until you have all variables as 1. (or, F)
@@HeyHeyHarmonicaLuke This is really clever. Thanks for posting. You could also extend it to define "and" and "xor". If T is 1 and F is 0, "and" is just multiplication in binary, and xor is just addition in binary, mod 2.
Born just in time to watch part 3 at the right time
Same hahahaha
I guess I can still say that. I'm 49.

I'd love a part IV. No pressure though if you don't want to. I think you're one of the best presenters than any other professor I seen.
Hey thanks! I added a couple more examples. Hope that helps!
I really appreciate you coming back just before my summer online class started
lol same
You are really good men, taking your own time to teach random students on the internet for free.
BIG THANK YOU FOR THIS,
Since my prof didn't even teach us properly on this, he's just reading the problems and solving it on his own LOL.
I'll see you guys after 3 years for the part 4
Top 10 trilogies of all time.
You are my favorite person in the whole world right now

I'm just scraping by in my Assembly class and your videos are the thread I am holding onto haha! Thank you for the help!

chillest math tutor on town
this is the exact tutorial that i have been searchin for
you are a pure LEGEND!!!! You have saved me. I finally understand what's going on in my class because of your INCREDIBLE VIDEOS :)
I am so glad that I came across your video. You really helped me by explaining how truth tables work in a very simple way. Thanks.

best teacher ever period.
have a test for this today and i'm a senior in high school thanks a lot for the videos these are dope as hell man

Thank you so much - your explanations helped me to understand it the Truth Table
Super helpful. These explanations are super easy to understand
Thank you for helping my midterms
thank you so much . you just saved for my exams.
you are amazing, I wish you were my teacher!
great Tutorial, you should keep doing videos like these. they are actually very informative!
Thank you so much. It's very helpful most especially we are conducting our class online.♥️
can't wait for part IV to come out in 2024 💪
Taught in university just in time to watch part 3
THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU TEACH SO WELL!!!
u r an excellent professor! thank you !!!!
Good god you are everything i need right now. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou
Not me going through this series the night before an exam trying to get the hang of ~(p V q), etc.
Your videos helped me a lot thankyou!
now this is what i needed!
I like your ways of teaching it and the funny part your better than my Doctor he don’t make it clear as you
Thank you for your service, very helpful video(s).
Legend
Why are the best professors on YT while those in schools. Nah. I don't wanna talk about it
One more year to go before part 4
Helped a ton! Thanks
Damn this helps me a lot thanks man
thank you so much , for this
bro the people who asked those questions way back when prob aren't even in school anymore lmao
The think that makes me wondering i always put R as the colon of P thats how they learn me and then i get different answers about P or Q statement
Which program do you use to record your screen and write with? I love how your mouse arrow also writes.
I use skim to write on pdf's and screenflow to record. Screenflow costs money, though, and I think there are some free alternatives.
thank you so much

yup, that sounds right. If you want to throw around jargon, those cases are referred to as a contradiction and a tautology, respectively.
@@LearnYouSomeMath Thanks so much!
Thank you but how do I now know if it is proving that the argument is invalid
This helped alot
Is there anywhere I can get questions to practice my truth table? Like a website or something
Oh my god thank you so much 🙏
Thank you!
now we need a symbolic arguments video :c
God bless you
Thanks a lot❣️❣️❣️
Let me know if it will be true as well my statement
you are a bosssssss
ty buddy
May i ask since there are three letters, why did you write four t's and four f's? does this mean odd is not allowed?

@Alpine_Wolf_Gacha yup!
@@LearnYouSomeMath you should do a fourth video with like 6 rows......just saying
thx bro
what will be in not p and not q?
how about with a 4th coz i have one question with 4 and its challenging
It’s the same step
please can you tell how to write truth table for four variables (p,q,r,s) please.
write the 3 variable table with Q R and S, then make an exact copy of it right beneath your original copy. For the top copy, put T for all of the entries for P. In the bottom copy, but F for all of the entries of P. Hope that helps!

Who else is in year 10 going to year 11 this summer and doing computer science GCSE
Hi👋 baby, I need your help if you help me, I'll be happy and I'm a student in the math department, please 😇
