I saw. Lou Reed at the Fox Theater in Saint Louis in 76. He was wild and he tore up all of the equipment at the end of the show. I saw The Rolling Stones at The Fox Theater in 76 to. They were so loud the music shook my clothes from the 3rd row seat. Nothing like seeing great bands in small clubs, bars, ballrooms, jukebox joints, Carnivals Carnivals and any place I could see one. Kick up all of the music and play it loud for me to shake me till I'm out of control. I'm old but the Blues wakes me feel like a kid.
I'm pretty sure I went to this concert and it changed my life! Made me an instant Lou fan. I've loved him ever since. He's in my top three! Miss you, lou!
This is Best concert I didnt go to!. WOW. Found this today and will play it on tv TO DEATH. The "sound" is truly Amazing. The SAX is the big difference for me and absolutely Megafies the whole gig. I dedicate this to my hubby who was massive Lover of Lou also V. Underground. WEMBLEY etc. I can sense him here now listening. Azzif he wud miss this. Such fabulistic musicians doin their "thang". Get on this. Gema. HX.
Je suiss en transe quand je regarde et écoute Lou Reed
Lou Reed, "you need"," we seed". Thank you, master.
I JUST LIKE TO LISTEN TO YOU LOU WE ALL MISS YOU
Love the energy of this! I've been listening to Lou lately and this is one of my favorite shows because of the band. The Sax and Synth/Keys make for some fun arrangements. Was not a big fan of the Mistrial or New Sensations albums, but this live show really showcases the bands talent during that era. Thanks for the UL!
oh yes....loving the sax 🎷🎵🎶
Good!
Good
10 minutes in and I can already tell that this is an amazing performance full of talent and life. Long Live Lou!!
"Hey honey I am a rock and roll man." The most New Yorker personality has a worldwide acclaimed name. Nobody dizzy to spell in a loud voice LOU REED. And the future feels like the past I could never reach. That is OK at all if all i have to do is go ahead. Long live Rock`n`roll. The legend died but his legacy will keep going forever.
For all those who could watch a Lou reed presentation that will never repeat again. There is none in the same rock groove possible no more. I can loose my wife and my mother since remains Rock and Roll in my life. Only your own choice in your own way cause there`s no other music damnation to plenty my heart.
Escucha a lou.reed
He rocked it that night. Good show. That's when he was getting clean and getting it all together. "New Sensations..."
Lou doing his guitar work
Lou Reed was a Rock and Roll hero, one of the best, never left his beloved NYC.
Him and his band,it seems got a gig in Paris and they're.. high.I might be wrong on this....
Lou Reed and The Velvet undergrounds Rock and roll animal album was off the charts best ever instrumental masterpiece!
This isn't Velvet Underground is it?
@@jameslujack1717 Right
@@jameslujack1717 He was the singer and song writer, so pretty much yea.
I AM NAKED NOW WASHING MYSELF IN A POT I DO NOT HAVE A BATHROOM BUT I AM CLEAN LOU
My god, those keys are smooth as butter. Amazing.
I've said this before Lou was a great arranger. Its amazing the different arrangements he would come up with the same songs. I dont think there was anyone better. He was such a great poet/writer and musician,
Mark Craven
I agree....
But if you REALLY know Bob Dylan, you'd have to agree that he, too, was, is, and always has been, an interminably prolific arranger, as well. He never has played his songs, with the same arrangement, twice. Every band he used brought a unique sound to his songs. To the point where non-DylanHeads get pissed off when they see him expecting to hear the "Hits". Jimi Hendrix is, of course, THE master arranger...as he changed the arrangement of his songs from night to night !! He literally "created" his music, LIVE on stage, night after night, and the band just had to do the best they could to stay with him, as he could, and did, veer off in an unexpected and unrehearsed, unforeseen direction, as he played what he heard in his head, at that moment, and never again....And THAT is what Jimi Hendrix' genius was. Cheers
And provided the greatest interview moments ever... xD
Nothing but a good old Rock N Roll Animal's still a Rockin the Blues. I'm a Rebel without a clue.
it is nine o clock I am not sleepy yet so I am smoking and listening to you Lou
This man was along with Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan are in my opinion the 3 greatest poets and composers in our life time and it was a great privilege pleasure and honour to have seen Lou Reed 3 times and with the velvet underground in 1993 those 3 I have mentioned along with Paul Simon and John Lennon and others will be talked about just like Mozart Beethoven and others are talked about today RIP to this legend it’s been a great pleasure listening to you since my late teens I hope that your still gigin and don’t forget to book my ticket Lou
WHAT THE HECK WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a legend it was a privilege a great honour and a great pleasure to have seen him 3 times in Britain twice in his prime years I toot my son to see him in 2011 you could see has soon as he came onto the stage he was ill and it very sad to see I also saw the velvet underground in 1993 Wembley arena what a great privilege to have seen the original line up little mo tucker she couldn’t play the drums so say but she is in the top 6 female drummers of all time she had a great ear for the beat and that’s what she did she never sat down what a great achievement for someone who so say couldn’t even play the drums long live little Mo has she was known
RIP, in orbit with our the Satellite of Love.
I AM A SATELITE OF LOVE LOU
love the look on Lou's face on Sattelite of Love, when Fernando starts sweet singing.. Lou wasnt expected that and it shows...

i was at this show, saw lou a few times, adrella, and with the feelies 3 times, solo and at grays paypa at 3am, i live in NYC for a long time and saw everyone
I saw Lou at The Ritz in 1986 ...but it was at the a few months earlier , at the “WLIR Non-Con-Formal Ball”..
Lou did a short set , and later it was The Hoodoo Gurus did a full show. I saw Jimmy Page , The B52’s , Joey Ramone and other artists milling around that night. Got home after sunrise...what a night🍺🤘
Long Live The Ritz! loved it.
YEAH LOU YOU WERE THE BEST IT IS ALMOST 7 YEARS SINCE YOU ARE NOT ANYMORE WITH US YOU DIED THE SAME YEAR AS MY MAMA IN ACCIDENT I MISS YOU BOTH WITH YOUR BAND AND THE SINGERS YOU ARE THE LEGEND

I am grateful to sit down to a big old heaping plate of Lou Reed concert, it's just wonderful, THANKS so much for posting!
I was at this one. Talked a bit after. I miss Lou. Thanks for posting this.
Excellent. Forever.
??..!!.
.
I'd be really jealous except for the hideous sax would've been a huge let down for me. It's pathetic.
Sax doesn't belong in rock and roll. Way too bubble gum. Elevator music. Ugh. Keep it simple. Basic Lou. Satellite of Love sax solo sounds like elevator music. Gags me. Literally. The entire song is bubble gum. Yuk
And that little kid's piano. Cheesy.
mid 86, he was already sporting the big 80s leather coat!
Lou looks & sounds good,,,,my favorite 80's club ( The Ritz ) !!
Best , Best rock merci !
Nos anos 80 no Brasil, nós não sabíamos que Lou era um gênio, graças hoje a tecnologia mostra todo o trabalho desse grande homem talentoso , Lou para sempre entre nós.

Es maravilloso sobre todo perfecto diag
He’s so hilarious! Introducing I Remember You and talking about how simplistic the music and lyrics are then “wait, what’s it called again?”
What a great song 🥰👌❤💥💜😈💯🤞Stephen
GREAT version of 'New Sensations' !
great arrangements! Very good rendition of tell it to your heart! Perfect melancholy feeling on it with great keytar and guitarsolos!
and the sax ofcourzz
did I metion the drums yet ?
YOU ARE GOOD STORYTELLER LOU
Thank you!!! I needed this!
Grande interpretazione di "sweet Jane"...la migliore che abbia sentito
This may well be one of Reeds best gigs ever (at least here on RUclips). The energy is tremendous and so is the nostalgia. Somehow this represents a whole pre-9/11 era to me, a time when I was not yet alive (I was born just under a month after this show) but that speaks to me very deeply nonetheless.
Last Shot! Great version
Que conciertazo. Siempre has sido y serás el mejor, Lou. RIP.
The Sweet Jane Bm chord holds the entire key to the song. In later years, Lou abandoned it and the song sucked because of it. I had just turned 16 at the time of this show and was a huge VU fan. Glad to have been there and have seen sweet Lou. I named my Son after him.
its (Bm) def. in this version and almost every other version i've ever heard, also in later years...
yeah, I'm no guitarist, but the live version with the two great players Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter was, IMHO, much better. And no sax. ----I miss him too.
Lou Reed Live band w/ that intro into sweet jane is as good as rock music gets. Steve Hunter !!!
@@tdrewke and Dick Wagner. TY. Lou always/usually had a terrific live band.
the `hop`/`secret chord Lou talks about on Elvis` Costello's show
THANKS LOU
q maravilla de concierto......amo a lou reed,a fernando sunders y a ese saxofon......mira q estaba simpatico lou....descansa en paz genio!!!!!!
rip lou
I m fan of lou since a long time yet and I préfère the rock n roll animal cause he was lot of énergie and originalitys, but I listen this great man til he die and it's like i loose one of the best singer, lou reed forever 😵💫🎸🎶🎙🥁👍🎷🔥❤️🔥❤️😵👍
Wish Lou had kept Quine and dropped the keyboards. But damn, was he great.
Lou Reed and The Velvet undergrounds rock and roll animal was the best album instrumental ever! The song rock and roll was absolutely off the charts! 🎶💪
RnR Animal , one of the greatest shows by any band
brutal guitarsolo on 'the orginal wrapper'!
I never. really. liked. Lou. after. Velvet,. but. that changed. after. I. saw. Him. and. band. in. Montreux on. TV. one. night,. They. we're. so. tight. and. Professional.,. brought a. tear. to. my. eye.
Walk on the wild side is worth the price of admission to this show.
lou reed the best....................................................................................................................................................................................
Compared to the Sweet Sensation tour, thus is amazing, the cheesy keyboard is gone- replaced with the return of the sax, and Lou's in a great mood and Fernando Saunders is superb, as always. Too bad things didn't work out with Robert Quine, but you can't have it all.
Saunders is buried in the mix here.
True, not enough bass.
I actually hear plenty of bass on my end, but I have a digitally flattened frequency response, so that kind of helps maybe.
I love his tone. It's very "vocal" sounding. Like a vowel. It's so smooth and natural yet... drippingly synthetic. It's one of a kind!
Don't agree the drums were solid on the sensation tour, solid with an edge that it could go anywhere made for excitement, Quine was a cool presence on stage and the keyboards were played with feel. Bass was superb, as always with Fernando. Well rehearsed bands sometimes lose a little of the edginess. Anyways Lou was a legend.
after more listenings "Lou Reed - Full Concert - 09/25/84 - Capitol Theatre (OFFICIAL)" best by a mile.
I saw the VU in 69, I think, again in the mid 92 and again in the late 90s but never with a horn like that. I prefer a base, 2 guitars, drums and at least a little piano.
Thank you. I agree with you 100%. Wish I could get rid of the sax in this concert.
WE ARE DOING THE THINGS THAT WE WANT TO
un phénomène Good Lou
JOE COCKER IS SINGING ON THE RADIO YOU WERE SO BEAUTIFUL TO ME I AM SO BEAUTIFUL FOR MR. TAMBOURINE MAN HE IS MY MAN JOE
un millon de gracias
If you`re watching this (ace) show, i`m guessing you like Lou. Ok, so does anyone have his PBS Rock `n Roll Heart Docu? It`s not on YT anymore, but that`s beside the by. In that film there are two sections which are under-scored with some music. Rough guitar/viola. Far too rough sounding to be L&L, more like early Velvets. It`s not in the film`s credits. It`s on no LR or VU nor bootleg i`ve ever heard. sections Amd it`s a fcking droney three chord BEAUTY. It`s been over 7 years now and i wanna hear that track before i need hearing from playing Metal Machine Music too many times! please hilfe xo
I LIKE HOW YOU INTRODUCE YOUR BAND LOU
HIS VOICE
Cool concert
Ate Sempre Lou
Preparación y Experiencia es la música de tonos dorados de este artista que con sus ritmos de Impronta nos recuerda la música del Renacimiento.
Y Lou oyó a Elvis! Rock and roll!
I WILL TAKE A AWALK TO A WILD SIDE I AM REALY A WILD CHILD LOU
0:24:51 WOW!
I WILL TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE I AM REALLY A WILD CHILD

Fernando Saunders - wath f.cking good bass player !
The abridged Sister Ray is like a speed OD
love this video, but does he talk about how 'rap is almost over"? haha
I chuckled about that too. Almost 40 years later, that statement didn't age well. Then I had to come back and edit it because I had 30 years
Joe Dalessandro is still alive. God bless!
