    I always wondered why I see things so differently than the younger black generation and it's because all the people in my family never adopted this mutant of black culture. We lived in an elevated state of mindset and it makes a huge difference. We're a family of successful business owners and productive citizens.

    I watched the Uncle Tom Documentary this weekend and I must say it totally changed my outlook on black Americans. I'm not gonna lie the behavior of a lot of black folks has taken its toll on me throughout my life. I'm a 44 year old white man and before watching that Documentary I noticed myself becoming racist over these last couple years. That Documentary has healed my soul in a way. EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THAT DOCUMENTARY.

      You've judged all blacks off the behavior of black liberals, even though black conservatives think and act the complete opposite of black liberals.

    In a music school history class, I learned that it was through the massive popularity of blackface minstrelsy in the mid-19th to mid-20th centuries that the noble character of Uncle Tom was warped into the racist caricature of Uncle Tom. It seems that, through that medium, black people began to believe what white racists told them about "Uncle Tom." Fascinating and heartbreaking history.

    Up from Slavery is the 1901 autobiography of American educator Booker T. Washington (1856-1915). The book describes his experience of working to rise up from being enslaved as a child during the Civil War, the obstacles he overcame to get an education at the new Hampton Institute, and his work establishing vocational schools like the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama to help Black people and other persecuted people of color learn useful, marketable skills and work to pull themselves, as a race, up by the bootstraps. He reflects on the generosity of teachers and philanthropists who helped educate Black and Native Americans. He describes his efforts to instill manners, breeding, health and dignity into students. His educational philosophy stresses combining academic subjects with learning a trade (reminiscent of John Ruskin). Washington explained that the integration of practical subjects is partly designed to "reassure the White community of the usefulness of educating Black people".
    This book was first published as a serial in 1900 through The Outlook, a Christian newspaper of New York. It was serialized so that Washington could receive feedback from his audience during the writing and could adapt his work to his diverse audience. Wikipedia

    How does the death penalty factor into the pro life convo?

    • @KevinBriggins
      @KevinBriggins 2 года назад +1

      Mr K, thanks for the question. The pro life movement is centered around the taking of innocent life. The death penalty typically doesn't fall into that category as it is a matter of justice for those who are guilty of heinous crimes. It goes back to the biblical principle of an eye for an eye which in today's language would be the punishment must fit the crime. For certain crimes the death penalty is the proper and just punishment.

    • @mrk6753
      @mrk6753 2 года назад

      @@KevinBrigginsA matter of justice. So why isnt justice letting that person rot in prison for life instead of killing them? Christians justify that killing but not ending of a pregnancy. Innocent life as oppose to guilty life? Interesting. I thought God is the ultimate judge not human. The hypocrisy is sickening. Creating life is a beautiful thing but it can also be dangerous and even life threatening itself for the creator the woman. So who is the innocent one in that case? Doctors are the arbiters of life and death so who better than he or she along with the mother and father to make that ultimate decision to abort if needed? Let God be the judge and mind your business.

    • @KevinBriggins
      @KevinBriggins 2 года назад +5

      @@mrk6753 there's nothing hypocritical about distinguishing between an innocent person and a guilty person. To compare the death penalty of a murderer to the taking of an innocent life by abortion is completely illogical. You're right God is the ultimate judge but that doesn't mean we don't execute justice here and now. Should we not prosecute murderers because God is the judge? Who are we to judge what's right or wrong? Why even have a justice system? But of course, you know that's nonsense. Here's what you need to understand. As individuals we are called to forgive but our personal forgiveness does not take away the responsibility of the government to bring justice on those who do wrong. In Romans it says,
      "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer."
      So as you can see, the government has an authority and a responsibility to carry out justice, even death. Stop using the death penalty to make abortion arguments.
      With that said, no it's not just a decision between a woman and a doctor. The government's job is to mediate situations between individuals to ensure rights are protected. An abortion isn't a solo act. It is not an act simply against a woman's body. It doesn't end her life. It ends the life of the other person. The government has to mediate in this situation to protect the vulnerable and the voiceless. To simply pretend that there's only one person and one life to consider is wrong, and no a woman doesn't get to play God and determine if someone else lives or dies because that person is in her womb.
      Finally and this will be my final response, the pro abortion movement is a lot like the pro slavery movement. Both are about property rights. A woman says my body my choice and the slave owner says my property my choice. In doing so, to justify abortion and slavery you have to dehumanize the baby and the slave. You have to tell yourself they're less than human in some way to justify the action. This is why we call children in the womb a fetus or a clump of cells. We deny its humanity. Slave owners did the same thing to blacks. We were less evolved. We were no different than apes and monkeys therefore it was justified. So the next time you're arguing for abortion just remember you would've argued for slavery too.
