Because Tesla does something it is better? Portrait mode means you don't have to reach as far to the right or look as far to the right as you do in landscape. Landscape means you don't have to look as low. It's preference. Neither is better and both have their pros and cons. Polestar 3 is not Polestar 2. Polestar 2 is built on a shared chassis with an ICE car. Polestar 3 is built on a EV chassis. Also it'll have air suspension and will ride considerably better than the Polestar 2.

PSNY Polestar stock dipped below $4.5 recently. Considering they are making more cars than Lucid and Rivian and are selling in 25+ countries (30 by the end of this year) - the stock is really cheap IMHO. They have confirmed they are still on target for 50k deliveries/production by the end of this year and 100k for 2023. Polestar will build the Polestar 3 SUV in the USA & China - it was launched on 12th October 2022. The Polestar 3 has air suspension and more luxury than the Model Y. It is larger than a Model Y. • @rogerstarkey5390
      @rogerstarkey5390 Год назад

      Not necessarily "battery tech".
      .
"KWh" is a measure of pack capacity.
Therefore if 70 kWh moves one vehicle the same distance as 100kWh moves another, it's not the "kWh" that's the problem, the 100kWh is either:
      Moving more mass,
      Suffering mechanical (drivetrain) resistance,
      or
      Encountering aerodynamic drag.
Essentially, it's a vehicle efficiency problem.
Saying that, the battery will of course contribute to the extra weight, but that's largely a consequence, not a cause.

Another note, with the Polestar costing $20,000 more than the Model Y, even with Tesla Full Self Driving costing $15,000 you would still have $5,000 in your pocket even after purchasing Tesla Full Self Driving which is a HUGE value. I also believe that the current MY with 4680 is throttled back by Tesla SW. Once it is in full production the 4680 equipped MY will be a superior car. In general I think a stat review is limited. That's my perspective. Cars can have similar stats yet feel different in terms of how they accelerate, corner, etc. As with the Volvo EX90, this is not a good comparison of classes of cars. The Polestar 3 is a more luxurious car and is in a higher rung. The Model X would be more comparable but it is in a higher rung than the Polestar 3 and is considerably more expensive. So, the comparison that makes more sense is something like a Mercedes EQE SUV or BMW iX. Not every EV has a direct competitor to Tesla. And btw, in Polestar's promotion of this car, they mention Porsche as the target and they rarely mention Tesla.
Also, the Polestar interior isn't a version of a Tesla anything. It's a version of Scandinavian design and takes in the heritage of Volvo. Almost all Polestar designers/engineers and personnel come from Volvo. I've listened to the designers talk about the interior/exterior design at length and I encourage you to do the same. Listen to Maximillian Missoni or Thomas Ingenlath, to see why this car uses the colors, fabrics, materials they use and what the thoughts were around how the interface is designed by the tech team at Polestar/Volvo. It's not Tesla based even if it overlaps with some of the trends that were first seen in Teslas.
Finally, Polestar is a Swedish designed and engineered car and really is a rebadged Volvo. Geely backs Volvo and Polestar but they pretty much stay out of the creation of their cars. If anything, Geely gets engineering from Volvo or CEVT to put in some of their other brands. Polestar is a sporty car. So while it may not have the greatest tech or efficiency, it does tend to have outstanding build quality, solid acceleration and really solid handling/braking. That's where Polestar's performance is focused as opposed to the best straight line acceleration.

It doesn't win a thing for me. It may win on some stats on paper. But if I take a Polestar 3 out on a bumpy road, or at high speeds and do an emergency maneuver, or repeatedly brake the car, which one will be more composed and feel more premium? Which one will have a bank vault like structure? The problem with comparisons like these is you take dry stats that favor Tesla and say Tesla wins. First of all, the comparison is kind of ridiculous. There is no Tesla that compares to the Polestar 3. The X is more comparable, in that it is the flagship and the 3 is Polestar's flagship, and both have air suspensions and meant to feel like luxury cars, but the X has hyper-performance (in terms of acceleration) and that's not what the 3 is going for (the 3 is going for handling precision and a grand-touring feel). And the X is several thousand more. So, there is no comparable Tesla to this Polestar 3. The Y is a lower-priced, lower-rung car and the X is a higher priced, higher-rung car.

Nobody else has Tesla Full Self Driving and while it isn't "Full Self Driving", meaning level 3, 4 or 5, it is TRULY AMAZING for 98% of the time when it does work. Most of the fails are on roundabouts. It could be faster turning in intersections and so forth.
It isn't perfect but overall it is a better driver than quite a few people I have ridden with. So should their licenses get revoked even though these people are average drivers? If true, then more than a third of all drivers should have their licenses revoked.
My big beef, and the ONLY one that I have with Tesla (though there are small things I would like to be different) is that the design of the front end of the Tesla is (the) BORING (company). Okay, "the" and "company" have nothing to do with it being Boring but if you don't get the joke I can't help you.
The front end of the Model Y and Model 3 are BORING! They could have a much nicer design but then the Model Y is quickly becoming the best selling car in the world so what do I know. If an affordable -->qualityinstantly< when I click on a button. Maybe it's because I'm spoiled by TiVo which IS snappy where with Android you wait at least a couple of seconds before it response. And then it doesn't remember how many times you pushed a button. Each button push takes two seconds. Meanwhile I'm a minute into a show with TiVo or even when I have my Tesla connected to wifi through my iPhone, Disney+ is almost instant in comparison. My expectations for Android powered entertainment systems is very slow because that is what I've experienced over and over.

PSNY Polestar up 20% today - at time of writing. Polestar Automotive Holding UK PLC said its third-quarter revenue more than doubled and it narrowed its operating loss as the company ramps up production of its Polestar 2 vehicles. The Swedish electric vehicle maker posted an operating loss of $196.4 million for the three months ended Sept. 30, compared with an operating loss of $292.9 million in the same period a year earlier. On a per-share basis, the company swung to net earnings of 14 cents from a year-earlier loss of $1.30.
Revenue more than doubled to $435.4 million from $212.9 million last year.
Polestar is still on target to produce 50k cars by the end of this year and 100k cars in 2023.

Polestar is going to have outstanding build quality, highly refined ride quality, outstanding handling and braking and is very much going to feel like the more sophisticated and expensive car over the Model Y. Cars are about driving, not comparing them on stat sheets. This sort of comparison is for stats people. I'm a feel person. Two cars can corner at .96 g and one can feel completely composed and flat while the other can feel like it wants to slide or tip over. Feel is what makes cars what they are, not just numbers.

Not even. At least Skoda has an Audi E-Tron has an Audi that is similar. But a medium market Skoda should not be compared to an Audi flagship. A flagship SUV should not be compared to what is now Tesla's middle-priced SUV. And saying things like Polestar's interior is a version of Tesla's is just lacking a historical perspective on Volvo/Polestar Scandinavian design. This is Polestar's version of Polestar design and maybe the only thing coming from Tesla is the glass roof.

IX 50 starts at MSRP 83,200! Have you seen that ugly grill on that vehicle. A disaster to clean! They put a 111.5 kwh battery to match the Model Y LR 81 kwh battery range. Ix50 is 5659 lbs. Why would you want to lug around all that weight, it's like buying a gas guzzler SUV with 19mpg. It's going to cost you more in electricity to charge. Don't forget, everything is extra cost, but you can spec one out at about $95,000! Good luck with opening the hood as it has no cargo space and you can't even open it!
