Wonderful. You strike a great balance between technical know-how and self evident wonder at what you make and what you see. Artistry at it's best. Compelling and informative. Great stuff. Thank you.
I’ve been researching for this information and you just made ny day. I’ve been investigating for this recipe everywhere but there is only information for natural dyes, thank you so much for this video ✨💕
A great book for dye is India Flints....also you should make sure folks know NOT to use pots for food after, can be poisonous. You can actually get a red from Bamboo shoots.
Thank you for making these fabulous videos! I love to experiment myself and love how you’ve included all steps including failures and successes. Great work, I’m a fan! 😃🤗
How long did you mule (is that the right word?) the pigment in the oil for? Some pigments do take a looooong time until fully spread in the oil to make the best possible paint out of them.
Really interresting and awesome videos i really like it that you really make pigments and dont use the liquid like the most and say thats it thats my color😏😁
Great work! i really enjoy your videos, what happens if you make the leaves a mush with something? Also, do you speak other languaje? It turnes out really fun to discover the final color 😄
@@NadaMakes1 well that explains it. So when it's a dye one needs to use alum and wash powder, but when it is a pigment one doesn't? Is that correct? I really get a kick out of your videos.

Life hack you can "burn/dehydrate" the rest and use it as black or brown
Thumbs up for a nice demo of dye and paint making. Thumbs down for trying to cut a thick bamboo stalk with hand pruning shears.

can you make pigment out of dandelions?
Don't think so. But you can make a pretty nice tea from the stems or roots.
Yes you can and I did ;) it comes out like a golden ochre chartreuse. You can also use it for spices and tea.
Yes you can
this is so awesome!
Amazing !
Thanks!
Hello I am experimenting with this now but seem to have no fizz or foam what do you think I may have done wrong??? Thanks so much!!!
Has anyone found a book about pigments?
“Chromatopia: An Illustrated History of Colour” 2018, authored by David Coles, published by Thames and Hudson. 🤗
I think you used too much oil, but it came out great. Thanks for this!
I did use too much oil! thanks
Don't these natural pigments fade out after a while?

I dont think I mull them enough! Maybe 3 minutes or so, probably not great what I did
I would have blended the leaves and then strained it to see if I could have had a more rich color
Thats a really great idea, thank you!

Could you try to make a pigment and paint out of madder root?

برافو ندونة.
can you use baking soda instead of washing soda?
What is the white powder you kept
Is it consumable and can I turn this in powder form
I wouldnt consume it tbh! And yes you can keep it in pigment form by just not adding oil or anything else after its dry
Have you thought about making paint out of mushroom spores?
Note to self. Don't try to cut through a thick branch with a pair of snippers. ;-)
What material do you use to make bamboo dye
Great work! i really enjoy your videos, what happens if you make the leaves a mush with something? Also, do you speak other languaje? It turnes out really fun to discover the final color 😄

I speak english, french and arabic but not well enough to subtitle lol
@@NadaMakes1 i'm wainting for new experiments! I speak native spanish And english. Blessings from Argentina!
What powder do you add bamboo dye
Alum and baking soda
Can u make natural pigment using beetroot
I have a video where I did it but it failed, kinda been putting off uploading it :(
can you dye fabric with this pigment?
I havent tried but im sure you can! Just skip the washing soda and just use alum then dip the textile into it
what you put after powder?
Just the powder :) alum followed by washing soda then filter the result
So why wouldn't you just allow water to evaluate and use what's left as a pigment
There wouldnt be much left unfortunately since it was a dye!
