Ateez and Jungkook are besties! Ateez has been to his fitness program and they play soccer with him, especially Jongho. He’s also Mingi’s role model, he wanted to become a singer because of him. They also did a collab album with him and there’s a music video with him called be my lover. In the album they also covered Turbo’s white love which also has a cute music video

The original version of "The black cat nero" is an Italian children's song. The original title is "Volevo un gatto nero", which means "I wanted a black cat". It dates back to 1969 when it was presented during a children's singing show (lo Zecchino d'oro). Actually, it came in last place in the rankings of that edition but it had an incredible success, especially in Japan, and was then translated into several languages. As Italian, every time I hear it, itmakes me laugh because I really don't understand why this song had all this success, but anyway 😂😂😂

Ateez originally performed this song on immortal songs turbo episode (they won) and really impressed Kim jongkook. And everyone else too, obviously. That’s how they ended up collaborating with him on this video and later on did a summer mini album called season's songs together. Not a collaboration I saw coming but worked surprisingly well!
Also 2pm! A blast from not so distant past. Animal-like sounds really funny translated and in English their tittle was beastly idols. Which, honestly, is not much better imo. They actually had a come back not that long ago (well 3 years ago, my grasp on the passing of time is pretty loose) called 해야해 (I don’t remember the English name and am too lazy to check) which was really good! You could check it out if you haven't already!

I'm here to watch this before the Dear Name song cover. I liked the performance and music video for the Black Cat Nero and didn't even know this song existed before ATEEZ's performance. Then I came to know about Turbo through them, and I really appreciate both them and their relationship with ATEEZ as well.

I think the origin of the song is Italian or something. European in Origin. ^^

Yeah the original is Italian. It's called volevo un gatto nero (I wanted a black cat) and it’s from the late 60s. We also have a version in Finland called Mustan kissan tango (tango of a black cat). funny that both the danish and Finnish version reference the tango-ish melody of the song. The version koreans know probably comes from japan. Or that’s my guess. The japanese were the first ones to make a cover of the song (kuroneko no Tango which is exactly the same name as the Finnish version). Funny story: I actually didn’t know that the children’s song was such a world wide phenomenon and when I first heard this version I couldn’t figure out why the melody sounded so familiar. I had to do a whole internet deep dive which is the only reason I know all this 😂

Thank you for this reaction to my recommendation 😊 I'm forever grateful to Kim Jong Kook for introducing me to these guys this way. As I'd mentioned before in that comment in the other video, Ateez has been on the Immortal Songs programme 6x, winning 4x in total. Jongho (main vocalist) has had 2 opportunities so far to sing solo on that stage. So proud of them all.
Ateez's Immortal Songs performances (all covers of course):
    1) Black Cat Nero (Turbo) 🏆
    2) Hayeoga (Seo Taiji)
    3) It's Raining (Rain) 🏆
    4) Right Now (PSY) 🏆
    5) Nililli Mambo × Fantastic Baby mash-up (Block B × Bigbang)
    6) Highway in the Gale (Yoo Jung Seok) 🏆
    Jongho's solo Immortal Songs stage:
    1) So You (Yarn)
    2) Things To Do Tomorrow (Yoon Jong Shin)
-- Last October, there was an Immortal Songs concert in US & Ateez was in the line-up

I'm so glad u know about Turbo. I didn't know this was a children's song before I watched your reaction. There is a stage performance of Ateez performing this song in front of a member of Turbo. Its pretty good. I used to be really into Ateez and even went to their concert. But im afraid I've seen them reach their limits just like Stray Kids. I think my pallette is more sophisticated now. But I so like their cover songs. Jongho used to be my bias. ❤

I'm curious what you mean by them reaching their limit like Stray Kids. Maybe you're referring to them both doing more performance based music and the high energy of it? I feel the same way about Stray Kids, where, unfortunately, their albums don't enthuse me anymore. Their sound has become something distinctively them, and though it may be different genres, the music hasn't aged as well as I wanted it to.
What makes me keep coming back to ATEEZ is how they consistently change up what they do. Though I did have a lull between Fireworks and Guerilla because while the songs were good, it didn't hook me as much.

@greysnowi3816 I've played them out Ateez and Stray Kids. They are both very talented but their musics from the end of 2023 to current is sounding the same. Reaching limits meaning the sounds of the musicality hasn't really evolved. I will always keep an ear out for their evolution as I do like each member of both groups. I just wish their producers would experiment with new-to-them sounds, because they are talented enough to level up (without changing their styles).
