This performance could very well be used to define the BLUES. God Bless your soul Herb as you have been one of my musical heroes since 1959. I did meet you once and had great conversation with just you and Ray Brown. I am one lucky guy.
@@OoOoOo-we3dn Don't be stupid, pop has absolutely nothing to do with Jazz. People can like whatever the shit they want, i just said it's sad to see so few likes for such great performance.
@@cmteturqueti pop is defined by what's popular, people like Fitzgerald, Armstrong Sinatra are unarguebly Bebop and Swingjazz greats while also Popstars. Jazz can be pop but does not have to be, also there is a new born interest for jazz in popular music due to the rise of hip hop into the mainstream. Jazz was pop, Jazz can be pop and jazz has a deep connection to pop. I agree that maybe not many people are into great players like herb Ellis, but I think those who are undoubtably love the Music quite much, which is more inportant than any mass scale exposure. I apologize for my English it s not my first language. Good day P. S it's bowing very cool
He was a brilliant jazz/r&b player. Does anyone know what that capo-like device is, that’s clipped to the neck of his guitar? I’ve probably asked this on YT before, but have forgotten…
Milt Hinton is so awesome on the bass, Herb really is one of my favorite guitarists by far though, Charlie Christian ain't bad, hard to compare them I guess xD

Beautiful !
It’s sad a video like this with only 6 likes. The world is drowned in a pop music swamp.
Let people like what they want man if jazz be popular it be pop as well.

It’s a device to stop unwanted open string vibrations (a “mute”)
