@@cmteturqueti pop is defined by what's popular, people like Fitzgerald, Armstrong Sinatra are unarguebly Bebop and Swingjazz greats while also Popstars. Jazz can be pop but does not have to be, also there is a new born interest for jazz in popular music due to the rise of hip hop into the mainstream. Jazz was pop, Jazz can be pop and jazz has a deep connection to pop. I agree that maybe not many people are into great players like herb Ellis, but I think those who are undoubtably love the Music quite much, which is more inportant than any mass scale exposure.
