The original is such a roar of rage and pain and regret that you scream. As if it’s the words you angrily yell at a partner over the phone. This is a soft surrender into that pain and regret. You’re still saying the same things to the one you love but you know it’s still the same pain and that this is over.

Yep, this is what is so wrong with the world. If you ain't playing instantly catchy bubble gum music, you don't get noticed and no money to follow. Many musicians sell out or can't do any better and then try to crank out their one hit wonder or two, then they fade away or some will stick around for a few years, then fade. They are a dime a dozen, but Matt puts out shit from the heart! That is almost as rare as an eclipse from everything that I can surmise from my experiences. Dude is one bad ass musician for sure. I had to hear this version of this song to really connect with it.

This version is so basic, but it really goes to show how much just a few (3 at most: synth, piano, vocals) can really make one of the most bad ass tunes. That is some serious genius. No longer can listen to any other version of it.
