Crow Thanks for the reply. I have used the shape and pose editors a number of times, but I prefer this method because I find it more precise and this method can be scripted. I always say there’s 7 different watts to do anything in Maya, especially rigging. So if you prefer the shape editor, by all means, use it.
oK ...Thats nice...but i see you are using Maya2018 ..why dont you use shape editor and BlendShape Brushes Bult in since Maya2016 Ext 2.0?...it is way easier i guess.....thank you again for your videos ..many were helpful to me ..Best
Ahmed Shalaby it’s a matter of preference for me, the shape editor has given me a number of problems in the past. Also, the shape editor doesn’t split a symmetrical shape into left and right shapes. It will only mirror an individual shape from one side to the other. You are free to use whatever setup you desire, I always say there’s 7 different ways to do anything in Maya.
@@dcpalley23 ..Sure it doesnt Split Existing Shape , i mean that you can use the new Brushes that can smooth and blend /Remove areas on the fly ....you pick the target in Shape editor press edit and use those Brushes to do it real quick ....But yes i agree it is a matter of preference , im just wondering ..thanks for pointiong up ..
@@shalabology I've had blends disappear or not even work or mirror correctly, where the blend shape weights editor has worked for me. Plus it's also script-able which makes it far more useful for me.
Have you checked out the shape & pose editors?
It really streamlines this whole process with easy mirroring and erasing of morph target deltas.
