When we think of archaeology we seem to think of finds such as Roman coins, bones objects that can be examined and placed in museums this isnt always the case its a way of helping us see into the past the things we find are objects that have a era and with experts in dating ceramics for example we can see the timeline for which the objects are from.

Is there an official statement regarding the crane work at Stonehenge in the 1950s?

But the question IS ...why is stonehenge above the ground and the rest is buried ? That means that the stonehenge was built later or not ?

The burried sites are the fundations of whatever structure that used to be there. The scar of the strctures that used to be there.

I have no idea what their talking about. A temple? a shrine? Everyone knows it's simply the door leading to the pandorica.

As a senior lecturer in Archaeology at one of the UK's top Universities I'm pretty certain he's heard of The Great Pyramid.

Okay, fair enough. Do you think stonehedge or The Great Pyramid is the most important archeological monument in the world. Only one is considered, and stands alone as a great wonder of the ancient world. Just saying.... but i understand he is proud of his country. Sorry for the sarcasm, and I gracefully accept your comment. peace.

still, if even so, which is doubtful, the great pyramid is significantly more enigmatic than stonehenge, let alone remarkable.
