Have you checked out the links above at the Lewiston Town hall meetings?
I find it interesting those living around the solar farm, their complaints of the ugly sights they'll have to look at and the poor wildlife. Especially the geese as they have become a nuisance. I flew my drone at the old Stonehaven boy scout camp and half way down Albright road by the grape vineyard there had to be 15 deer. I really wouldn't worry the deer won't have a place to run.
What I do find funny was nobody mentioned all of those clay mines!
Those clay mines fill to the top and in summer get that deadly algae bloom like Lake Erie on Pennsylvania side. That algae bloom kills whatever drinks it an some years back a flock of geese died after landing in one of those mines/pits.
Mawhiney digs them so they have no slope to get out but all four walls are just hat, walls. Leaving a slope leaves clay/money in the hole.
So are the people living around that blind? The Buffalo News wrote about those clay mines. On the editorial page the editor in chief wrote all of us living in the vicinity should be compensated because of the environmental hazards that would effect the value of our homes. I didn't read that about those solar panels but those commenting at the Town hall said it would. I'll take those solar panels over the environmental hazards of the clay mines.
I flew over CWM (did anyone know that CWM owns that land where the clay mines are?) and if you took a picture of CWM and overlayed it onto a picture of the clay mines every hole would just about line up! Wonder how those homeowners will feel when that happens.
Lewiston residents inconvenienced by clay mining deserve compensation
