That part does bother me, because even if they didn't think she would wake up later, they still had a wealth of evidence to go on. If it was an accident, he wouldn't have stood over her watching until a stranger ran over to help because he wasn't doing it. The witnesses would have seen him approach with the lighter and directly light her on fire. The footage showed that she didn't have a cigarette and there was no reason for him to be approaching her with the lighter. It just seems cruel.

Every time I hear this case one “minor” thing that makes me angry is the 911 operator telling the lady to calm down. I hear situations like this in LOTS of cases and I’m just like aren’t you trained to deal with people who are freaking out due to things? Once a woman was trying to break into my home when I was only 15. I was crying, not even that hard and could still clearly say what was needed. And yet I was screamed at to stop crying and calm down.

I remember when I was a child my mom leaving my dad do to severe abuse & we went to a women & children’s shelter. It was absolutely horrible, my brothers & I cried every night begging to just go home!! It was dirty, we were all in one small room with 2 sets of bunk beds, the food was nasty, no tv for us to watch, really no toys & they did nothing to actually help my mom or us to get on our feet!! We did eventually go home because we really had no choice!! My mom didn’t have her DL & never had a job so we couldn’t afford to be without my dad! My mom couldn’t even get a lawyer to help her to try to get spousal & child support or get him out of the house!! Unless you have family to help, let you live with them & support you until you can get on your feet women have no choice but to stay!!

I am sobbing and I can’t stop. When I was a child in the Ohio foster care system, I was intentionally burned with boiling water and that’s something you never recover from. And then in February 7th this year, the week before my 23rd birthday, I had a boyfriend burn me on my chest and stomach with scalding water. I cannot fathom the pain this woman went through. I am crying so hard, she is an absolute badass and inspiration to the world. All of my love forever goes to her, her family, and everyone who cared for her during her time in the hospital. She has a strength like nothing I’ve ever seen. I will never not think about this case. ❤ Rest in power, peace, rest, and love Judy. You are remarkable and left a legacy that has left a profound impact on this world. I love you Judy. Thank you for having the strength to fight for yourself to the end and many others❤ And thank you Danelle. I’ve never actually felt sick to my stomach over one of these but my gosh this absolutely poor woman she was such a fighter. What an angel. I’m a recovering alcoholic and know how hard it is. I hope she’s at peace and pain free now. Sending my biggest condolences to the family. ❤.

Judy you are an amazing girl, so sorry you were taken from this world by this monster at such a young age despite already beating cancer twice and recovering from addiction. 😥 Your strength is amazing! Hope you are resting in peace. 🕊 Thank you Danelle for telling Judy’s story 💕

    One word.. wow...
Judy was such an amazing sounding woman. Nobody wakes up deciding to be an addict. But to overcome that and illness is an amazing fight
Again another sad story proving women are not safe.

This story is horrific, and beautiful. Knowing Judy, personally, wasn’t always easy. She was a drug addict, and she was would constantly lie, cheat, and steal to feed her habit. Eventually, contact had to be severed completely. What I remember most; is her saying that she knew this man was going to hurt her. I’m so thankful her girls got their mom back before she passed. They got; for a short time, the mother they deserved. She changed completely. She was so brave, and so strong for them. They never had that. No one deserves what happened, no matter what they’ve done.
You did a beautiful job; giving Judy the voice she no longer has. Thank you. ❤

Wow what a tragic story. I literally had tears 😢in my eyes and she was definitely a fighter and I can't believe he got 11 years for what he put her through that's just disgusting and I'm so heartbroken for her but that psychopath is definitely where he belongs and I hope he rots away in prison and it's crazy to think how many people the system let's out and 9 outta 10 times they repeatand then it has something like this to happen.. it's just so ridiculous they need to keep these psychopaths locked up and throw away the key

This is so heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. I hope that bastard is paying in jail. Hope he feels like a helpless woman by the guys in there. Judy deserves justice what an amazing woman. Those girls have to live without their beautiful mum. So sickening. R.I.p Judy🌹

This is one of the saddest stories I have ever heard. God bless her, and I pray she is at rest knowing she got her abuser.

Such a tragedy. May her daughters know Jesus and find the joy in this life that God has for them.
To the narrator- cancer and addiction - to heroin! - do not go hand in hand. Cancer meds do not "cause" addiction. I just couldn't watch the rest.

Part of what helps me understand defense attorneys when the defendant is clearly guilty is remembering that part of their job is to ensure that the law is followed to a T so the defendant has nothing to appeal on, which saves the victims & their loved ones having to suffer through multiple trials and the delay of justice. But seriously, it would be so hard.

In the end she was allowed to testify in her own murder trial what she was unable to testify in was we need flood no contest to the original charges before she died and got his 11 years because he pulled out she wasn't able to say anything and she wanted to
