CHADDAWP I was actually going to say this. I've been subbed for a few months, and every time I get on to watch a new video, I expect the sub count to be way higher. There are other much shittier (usually car lists) channels that have blown up. I don't get it.
Yeah, this guy is really good. His speaking skills, insight and video presentation are top notch. But playing that music over his voice makes no sense. When someone is speaking, I just want to hear them speak. I don't understand why people do this, it adds no benefit to the video. It makes me not want to watch any other videos he makes because of this. This "background music thing" is a horrible trend on youtube, it turns good information into a cheap generic hard to listen to video. It devalues the video by alienating a certain % of viewers that hate music over voice. If people like to hear music while listening to you speak, they can do that on their own. They can play any music they want. When the video comes with built-in music, people don't have a choice. We're forced to listen to the music if we want to watch the video. I wish youtube channels would release 2 versions of their videos. 1 video with background music and 1 video without. They'd have twice the content and it wouldn't cost them any extra time or money and they'd be capturing the whole market and making everyone happy.
I currently own 4 z cars from 260z to a pair of 280zx, have probably own 20 or more so far . I have to say it’s the best sports cars I have owned and prefer the older editions. I never knew that Nissan didn’t like Mr.K , he was loved and respected here and by the Georgia Z club . Thank You Mr. K , your efforts were not missed here
Dude, you make such great videos, I absolutely love your time and dedication that you put into making these! Really hope to see your channel blow up some day, you totally deserve it!
THANK YOU for this history lesson. I owned a 280zx t-top 2+2 hydromatic and it was a dream car for my wife and I. I intend to buy another one this year. I'm definitely a ZX Lover!!! They're too beautiful for words.
Phenomenal video. Bravo. I've owned 3 280ZX's and 2 300ZX's in the 80's and 90's and was a die hard Z enthusiast. I've since moved onto Corvettes once I could afford them, however I still remain a massive Z fan.
I’m an American car guy through and through. Then I saw a z32 300zx for the first time a few months ago and bought one the next day. It now has a supercharged 6.2 liter v8 LS3. Best of both worlds.
Wow from near bankruptcy to market leader in under 36months! that's crazy!!! Did a report on that back in college, a lot of backroom handshake deals/collusion, and well they never recovered since! Asset bubble, sounds very familiar (still going on today in the USA?). Great video! I love my fatbody 370! (just need to lose the chrome headlights!!!)
I am glad you mentioned the "near bankruptcy" comment. CEO Carlos Goshn is the idiot who has now taken the family back to shame for fraud and perhaps again to near bankruptcy for reporting false company financial statements. he was not alone in this, seems like Japan courts have found that a bunch of Nissan executives were aware of what was happening and they fail to report his illegal activities. Shame on all of them because this can potentially affect how the company will cut models from production to increase the bottom line, At any rate it is in the best of interest of Nissan to design a killer Z model, this could make or brake the company in the near future.
Awesome presentation !!!! I have a 2003 350Z and it's terrific!! When I kick it I feel like I'm an Indy or Daytona driver. The thing is fantastic. It's not a pony car, it's a race car you can drive every day.
Great vid. My dad bought a brand new 280Z in the late 70's when I was like 6 or 7 years old. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. Beautiful cars. I later bought an '82 280ZX turbo. Also a beautiful car.
This was a great overview, detailed, complete, and well done. I'm from a family that has had 2 240z's, 1 260z, 1 280Z2+2, and 1 280ZX 2+2. I grew up in these cars.. Thanks...
Thank you for this video. Very informative and entertaining. I've been around Zs since my early teens in the mid-late 70s. Had a 240Z and 280Z throughout the 80s. I currently own a 72 and 74-1/2.
I live 10 minutes from Nissan's (former) North American headquarters in California that was mentioned briefly in this great video. They didn't change the name from Datsun to Nissan on the building until the mid 90s. Their hq is now in Texas.
Yups. I believe dealerships were still under the Datsun name as "Nissan" cars were being sold on the lot during this transition phase. Good to know Nissan Corp. wasn't until later.
I am a huge fanboy lover of the Fairlady series (proud owner of a 2008 350Z myself) and I throughly ENJOYED this video. The in depth detail this video has is awesome that I even learned a few new things that I didn't know prior to watching this!
I've seen a couple of your videos and you're getting better and better. This was a great history lesson and you seem to do it without bias. Congratulations and good luck. I look forward to more great work from you. Pip
Great video..Thanks for the Z info..I am an owner of a 09 chicane yellow 370z with sport pkg..a 94 300zx tt..that is one of the nicest low mileage 300zx u will ever see..and I'm also an owner of a new GTR..Thanks so much for the video..and Thanks Mr K for creating a legendary car and history..
Amazing details..incredibly researched! Great pictures of the 240's lined up and ready to roll. I personally am a 280Zx and Z31 man. That is the glory years in my book!
I love these videos for explaining the differences between the different model years. 20hp difference between the first and last 350z iterations for example. I came here just to watch that bit but ended up watching the whole thing. Great content.
If I were to buy a sportscar, the 350z would be it. I feel it's in its own class and simply an all rounder. Despite it being easy to buy, the value is going up. I always wanted one for 8 years. With the 350z, I feel satisfied with that just one car. For some reason it can also stand on its own.
in the 3rd generation Nissan 300zx there is also a very rare model called the Nissan 300zx shadow as there was only one ever made and was imported from japan to Australia where it now sits in my garage
Brilliant video. Highly entertaining and very informative. I've always the loved 240Z, it was one of the most beautiful cars of its era and loved here in Australia as well.
I really love this video, I don't know this guy but he should be a teacher, history sucks but the way he presented the information and the quality of the information and video it's outstanding. Great work
Very informative... I'm on my second Z (40th Anni) .. Every time I watch one of these I learn something new ! (Not feelin' the new concept grill though. Maybe their still working' on it... : )
Thanks for the great video.....and for sharing your knowledge. My personal opinion: as someone who recalls ALL of the "Z" cars from Nissan/Datsun......I would very much like to see the cars that were proposed for the 1990s be made now and offered for sale in the USA. THERE IS A DEFINITE "RETRO" VIBE IN THE USA NOW.....and I actually prefer the looks of those cars much better than the "much too space age looking" cars that the company decided to produce later on. I'd buy one.....as the "hostile take-over" tactics used by GM after they bought out the Saab company has made my beloved Saab convertible very difficult to keep on the road. (I'm not very happy about that....and I, like many Saab enthusiasts, will NEVER BUY A GM CAR AGAIN because of that....they LIED to us when they told us "not to worry.....we'll take care of you"). 12/5/19.....I'm sharing (below) a c/p of a post I made today on another video (at the request of a friend)....before I stumbled into finding your video. I remember these cars well....from my childhood and into adulthood. Some might find the comments and historical perspective interesting.......as there is always much more than producing a car that is considered before actually deciding to manufacture and sell them. Again: BRING BACK THE "Z CARS" OF THE 1960s and 1970's....THAT PROPOSED 1990s CAR's TIME HAS COME!!! ALSO: PLEASE DON"T ABANDON THE TRADITIONAL STANDARD TRANSMISSION "5 (or 6) on the floor" stick n' clutch vehicles (especially with turbo too). Those "paddle" thingies that are around now (that the kids who don't have the know-how to operate a REAL STICK SHIFT CAR can drive) are a real TURN OFF. Those things PHONY UP the idea AND performance of an actual "standard transmission". IMO: "it's not a REAL sports-car if you aren't driving a stick"!!!!! AS MENTIONED: HERE IS MY COPY/PASTE: (when I was asked to identify a Nissan looking car just from a side-view picture that was posted). "..........It would help to see some more angles/photos of this car. First I have to ask: is this a trick question?? :-) It would be good if you respond with your thoughts about this reply.....and to let me know if I'm right about my "educated guess" about this car. I remember the Nissan "Z" cars when they were around in the 1960s/70s/80s.....they were fun to drive little vehicles, and REALLY good looking sports cars. (some actually looked like they were modeled after male genitalia!!! LOL.....I always remembered that little "fun fact" after it was pointed out to me!! I still chuckle about it sometimes, too. :D ) I also remember that (at least in my area of the country) the early Japanese cars were sold in the USA at lower prices than American (aka: Detroit) cars.....and there was a national pride sort of bias against them. Lots of people in the USA thought it was unpatriotic to buy foreign cars back then.....especially German and Japanese cars. You didn't see a lot of these Japanese cars where I lived....and I remember neighbors that bought them were soundly snubbed, scorned, and dissed about owning them.....mostly in a teasing manner: but there were times when those dialogues actually got pretty ugly. Japanese cars did fall more into favor later on (during the oil crisis period and afterward) because they got excellent mileage.....and the "Big 3"auto makers in the States were still hung up on making gas guzzling cars, and performance/muscle cars (that lots of us still drool over).....but, none of them got very good mileage. Later on those cars fell out of favor because of the fuel consumption, gas prices, and environmental concerns.......and that gave the import cars a big "edge" for sales. Just the same: it's STILL nice to see one of those era produced American "muscle cars" on the roads "every now and then". Here's the "is this a trick question" part of my reply: I'm thinking the car pictured in your video looks like the type of body style that was being produced By Nissan/Datsun in the 1980's......sharper/angular shapes came into vogue, more so than in the earlier decades. (TBH: I preferred the body styles on the Nissan's back in the two previous decades: but nobody was asking my opinion then!! LOL) ALSO: during those decades, there were a number of cars on the roads that were manufactured by NISSAN.....but there were similar cars that also got DATSUN labels/badges on them.....and SOME of them had BOTH Nissan and Datsun labels. Confusing: unless you knew back then that Nissan owned the Datsun factories as well. So let us know if I'm on the right track about the ID of this car. .........." .
blondwiththewind You say, Always remembered that little “fun fact” after it was pointed out to you!! That you still chuckle about it sometimes too. :D ) in reference to 70s n 80s Z’s...
I had one. A 1971 British Green (paint color 907) with brown interior. Had keep it from 1978 to 1991. Serial number HSL 25337. Beautiful machine. Third speed was really fast. Got some tickets too.
Thank you so much for you effort. One most know the history of the things that we like so we can get to love them and appreciate it . Thank you again. FROM Dominican Republic
Great video and very thorough history lesson on one of my favorite Japanese car brands. I especially want to say thank you as the owner of a Z31 Turbo for not excluding the Z31 era of Z Car as other biased so called Z Car "historians" tend to do. Subscribed.
Great Video.....I just purchased a 2020 Sport Touring....wish list....1- it would have been nice with a Flat Bottom Steering Wheel, 2- would have been really Cool with a removable Roof like the Vette. But Hey I luv it just the same. I gotta add it’s also rare to Still have a Spare Tire....too! And way more comfortable ride than the Vette, Believe that or not....it’s a Perfect Fit for me!
GT Content Agreed, the maintenance is a pain, but it's been worth it in the long road. I have a personal attachment because it was my dad's old car from the 90s, he sold it and then I tracked it down and bought it from the guy that purchased it from my dad. Feels like when I was a kid everytime I get in.
Hey excellent video , very factual however affordability wise the 6th Gen Z car is a bargain as a budget priced sports car. compare to its competitors today in Canada you can buy a 370z nismo manual 50k plus taxes and it’s rivals are corvette Porsche as they more expensive and for some reason they compare this car to the Subaru BRZ and there is no comparison. Like comparing a corvette to a chevette but if you ever decide to do a exclusive on the 370z nismo let me know as I am a 75 to 78 z owner and 16 to 18 nismo z owner and a driver automotive incline and true open minded car enthusiast and I call any bullshit I see fit from all manufacturers so I am not a brand loyalist but a car lover especially sport cars I feel the z is a proper sports car that can perform with all the big boys I hope you found my 2 cents worth to read Takecare you definitely have one of the best car channel on you tube
I love this video, you grabbed my interest at the get go. You were very informative and brought the history across very conceitedly in your video. This video tops as one of my most favourite Z car Videos. Keep up the awesome work and keep on Keeping on. Z =
EXCELLENT!! Excelente video, muy bien contada la historia del Z. Se ganó mi suscripción y mi "like". Estaré atento a futuros video (I wrote it in spanish because I´m chilean).
The leaders & designers should look into the Corvette design for future Zcar designs. Also, I have had a 1975 280Z, 280Z 2+2, and a 240Z, Love them. One day I will have another.
This guy deserves more credit for his content and his knowledge, underrated youtuber
totally! easily one of my favorite channels!
Agreed, he actually comes up with original content, not just the typical rehash approach that everyone else is trying.
CHADDAWP I was actually going to say this. I've been subbed for a few months, and every time I get on to watch a new video, I expect the sub count to be way higher. There are other much shittier (usually car lists) channels that have blown up. I don't get it.
Easy to fix. Share his channel to 10 car guys and ask them to do the same
Yeah, this guy is really good. His speaking skills, insight and video presentation are top notch.

240z is definitely one of the top 5 most beautiful cars ever made.
Ditto for the z32 300zx turbo too.
The first 4 z gens are sick asf
It’s absolutely beautiful
As a Z owner for over 20 years, I have to say your information is thorough and spot on. Very well done!
oh man, the father of the Z's. I salute you big boss.
#Z
The Z32 was the best by a looong way, making it to car and Driver's top 10 , six years in a row.
I currently own 4 z cars from 260z to a pair of 280zx, have probably own 20 or more so far . I have to say it’s the best sports cars I have owned and prefer the older editions. Dude, you make such great videos, I absolutely love your time and dedication that you put into making these! Really hope to see your channel blow up some day, you totally deserve it!

Phenomenal video. Bravo. I've owned 3 280ZX's and 2 300ZX's in the 80's and 90's and was a die hard Z enthusiast. I've since moved onto Corvettes once I could afford them, however I still remain a massive Z fan.
aerlial360 I’m right with you ‼️‼️✅✅✅
I’m an American car guy through and through.
Thanks!
Love the history of Mr. K thanks for sharing
Very nice production, makes me like my '73 Z even more. Keep up the great work.
Thanks man!
Thank you so much best 20 minutes of my day
You're welcome!
Awesome presentation !!!! I have a 2003 350Z and it's terrific!! When I kick it I feel like I'm an Indy or Daytona driver. The thing is fantastic. It's not a pony car, it's a race car you can drive every day.
I like how you actually talked about the 300ZX Z31 everyone always just skips over that car I love that Z it’s my favorite one thanks!
Tt z32 is my dream car. Great video bro 👏🏽

I absolutely enjoyed this history! I have owned a 1976 260Z 2+2, a 1984 300ZX and my current 2003 350Z Track.
Great job Sir,
+MyBlueZed Thanks! Those are some nice cars!
I absolutely enjoyed watching your highly informative videos. Thank you!
Great vid. My dad bought a brand new 280Z in the late 70's when I was like 6 or 7 years old. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. Beautiful cars.
I later bought an '82 280ZX turbo. Also a beautiful car.
THANK YOU! I'm a huge fan of the z32 and it has made me curios of the Z history. Glad you put this video together!
You're welcome!
Trying to bring back the z look was awful, so ugly
This was a great overview, detailed, complete, and well done. I'm from a family that has had 2 240z's, 1 260z, 1 280Z2+2, and 1 280ZX 2+2. I grew up in these cars.. Thanks...
Thank you for this video. Very informative and entertaining. I've been around Zs since my early teens in the mid-late 70s. Had a 240Z and 280Z throughout the 80s. I currently own a 72 and 74-1/2.
Fascinating story. Can't wait to see what the next Z is like. Sub count goin up & up! Very nice work.
Thanks!
I have a 240z I feel special to know that my car is the first generation of the z project
New z is almost here!
I live 10 minutes from Nissan's (former) North American headquarters in California that was mentioned briefly in this great video. They didn't change the name from Datsun to Nissan on the building until the mid 90s. Their hq is now in Texas.
It's just a huge mystery to me why corporations are leaving California. I just cannot figure out why would they do such a thing? (sarcasm).
Yups. I believe dealerships were still under the Datsun name as "Nissan" cars were being sold on the lot during this transition phase. Good to know Nissan Corp. wasn't until later.
Great video. I love the Z car. I am a third generation Z owner. I own an 87 and a 90TT.

i had the 72 240z as one of my 1st cars as a kid...good memories
Fantastic video, thanks for posting! I just saved a 76 280z 2+2 from a salvage yard. Always loved the first generation Z cars both the coup and 2+2.
Heads up, only the 280z came with an optional 5 speed/factory air conditioning
another amazing and informativ video! i'm so glad i found your channel! :)

Here's the "is this a trick question" part of my reply:
I'm thinking the car pictured in your video looks like the type of body style that was being produced By Nissan/Datsun in the 1980's......sharper/angular shapes came into vogue, more so than in the earlier decades.
So let us know if I'm on the right track about the ID of this car. .........."
.
blondwiththewind LOL I’m curious about your statement- (some actually looked like they were modeled after the male genitalia). LOL. How so...?
blondwiththewind You say, Always remembered that little “fun fact” after it was pointed out to you!!
Subscribed.
But the z31 was still excluded in the thumbnail pic 😢😂 lol
13:45 😎 I have a 1987 300ZX Turbo. Thanks man for sharing us this great video
Awesome videos on this channel, really appreciate these.
You're welcome!
Damn good job you had more info then I have heard before great job !
one of the YT automotive communities best hidden gems, I can't wait for him to blow up and make serious $$$ from spreading his knowledge
Thanks! Fingers crossed
I loved this video. Makes me want a 300zx even more.
Glad I came across your great informative vids!👍👌, thanks, from norwegian subs.
Awesome! You're welcome.
THANK YOU SOME MUCH I LOVE THE 350Z AND THIS WAS A GREAT VIDEO I LEARNED A LOT KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
You're welcome! Will do.
Great video! Thanks for the good info and easy presentation. Very interesting evolution of the Z.
I'm glad you made it clear that muscle cars & sports cars are NOT the same.
Thank you for sharing this video. Nissan needs to repop some of their 620 part's
Thanks for putting this video together.
I bought Z 8 years ago and I haven’t looked back.
Nicely made video
Always quality content
+raul niglas Thanks!
Great video. A very fitting coverage of an icon.
I love my '90 Z32 TT! Great video.
Had one myself. It was a love and hate relationship though. Loved the drive and power. Hated working on it.
GT Content Agreed, the maintenance is a pain, but it's been worth it in the long road. I have a personal attachment because it was my dad's old car from the 90s, he sold it and then I tracked it down and bought it from the guy that purchased it from my dad. Feels like when I was a kid everytime I get in.
great info! i enjoyed just listening to your video. i own a 280z 2+2.
Dude, your channel is so cool!!
Thanks!
Awesome! Thanks
Awesome video #GTContent keep it up! 😎👌
Thanks!
Yup 2021 and now the new Z will looks like it's predecessors.
You did your homework - excellent video!
EXCELLENT!! Excelente video, muy bien contada la historia del Z. Se ganó mi suscripción y mi "like". Estaré atento a futuros video (I wrote it in spanish because I´m chilean).
+arqvtec Gracias! Hablo muy, muy poquito Espanol.
WELL Done Sir!
✌️❤️😁
I love your history videos! Could you do one about Toyota Celica sometime in the future?
+RibbonPL It's in my backlog.
The Skyline, Z, Altima, and Maxima are cars designed by visionaries/goal-driven people to keep the company on top. The rest of the lineup can suck it.
The leaders & designers should look into the Corvette design for future Zcar designs. Also, I have had a 1975 280Z, 280Z 2+2, and a 240Z, Love them. One day I will have another.
