    There aren't many coasters I got to ride in their original forms, but Dragster is one of them. I was fortunate to ride it once in 2003 when it first opened and was having all kinds of downtime. Rode it some more in 2010 and 2013, and it was one of the best rides. Man, the hype in 2003 for Dragster was legendary, it was the biggest thing happening in the entire industry that year.

    Prayer's go out to Rachel and her family. I was lucky enough to ride the original Dragster in 2011 before I became an enthusiast. Only 20 days till may 4th. I'll be there rain or shine. Thanks again Beachcliff studios.

      What in the world does praying do at this point!!!??? The damage is done forever. If some so called good god exists, that god should have never let anything happen in the first place! You think by praying this god is going to do some "clean up" stuff AFTER the accident?!! You believers in god are something. You really are. The cognitive dissonance is just overwhelming.

    I assume cedar fair was self insured up to a limit and the insurance company paid anything over that limit to the extent of that contract. Anything over that contract would be six flags liability given the merger. I assume settlement was more driven by the insurance company knowing the full liability and wanting to close the issue as it just gets more expensive with time. Also, she/her guardian has to agree also and she likely has some large expenses to pay. Six flags likely will absorb the future insurance liability and higher premiums. I wish the best to her. It truly was a terrible accident and saddens me

    • @BeachcliffStudios
      @BeachcliffStudios  4 месяца назад

      “Six flags” is the same as cedar fair once the merger closes. Six flags is only the name that’s being used. The combined company will be responsible if not paid out before the merger.

    A bigger question may be how ride operators will operate this ride; will they continue their dangerous habit of "dispatch times" that lead to mental errors? Will the same people who last operated TTD be brought back, including the woman with the awful attitude who was TTD's supervisor who clocked out minutes before the accident? We know the ride attendant seen at 8 seconds was so disturbed by this, he plans never to work at Cedar Point again even though he lives in the area. Where are you going to find local people to operate this ride? Have they said how many people it takes to operate this ride? We remember 13 were needed for TTD, and that 22 or more are needed to operate Steel Vengeance. What if we have yet another staff shortage crisis this year? Will there be enough to pass training procedures?
    What's definitely going to happen at Cedar Point and all other major parks will be *steep attendance DECLINES* everywhere, due to criminal mischief. Do we trust Ron Gilson (seen at 4 seconds) and his security detail to keep Cedar Point safe? That, combined with Coaster Thoosies hogging TT2 and other coasters, will make amusement parks very unpleasant for ordinary guests.
    The days of the traditional modern amusement parks like Cedar Point are numbered, and expect many of them to close in the next two decades.

    • @BeachcliffStudios

      We know many ride operators and all of them are 100% for the safety of the guests. The accident had nothing to do with the crew working the ride
