Yayyyy .. concrete road , at last mate .. I started my work life in a Ford Dealership in West Ozz.. the for you showed us is a 1967 XR Falcon ..the start of the “ new shape “ ..previously XK/XL/XM/XP..
The XR was the first of the GT’s. 289 cu in V8
XT next model 1968
XW next ..1970
XY 1971
XY GTHO Phase 3
Fastest 4 door production car of its era .. now worth $1.2 mill Aud
Text book info there mate. Excellent.. thank you.
Now, was the XR built in the US also, or did we build them and export there as this one is left hand drive..?
The XR series was introduced in September 1966. Styling was based on the third-generation 1966 US Ford Falcon, and it was promoted as the "Mustang-bred Falcon". It was the first Australian Falcon to be offered with a V8 engine, the 200 bhp (150 kW), 289 cubic inch (4.7 L) Windsor unit. Australian XR Falcons ,also came with two 6 cylinder variants ( 170 cu in and 200 cu in )
With the 1967 Ford Mustang in the USA ( 289 V8 engine ) ,Ford Australia introduced their first "muscle Car' as such, creating the GT falcon . The XR GT, was a 289 cu in V8 ,225 BHP/168 KW ...Cheers 🏎🚙
The Mekong River House is looking a treat mate. Well done ol mate Fast Eddie,he is a goer that bloke.. ( Perko mk 2 ...lol )
@KennoRob Canadians also produces a xr or xt falcon 2 door
@@NowinLao Falcons, Fairmont's, and Fairlane's.
Awesome, my first car was an XT GT Lookalike.
Hey Todd, How great is it for Tao to make those gifts. Legend. You won’t know your self with the new road, less noise and dust.fantastic. Take care Nev.
Reno's are looking great Todd. Wish they had sealed the teak in a clear coat to highlight it rather than painting it white.
All good mate, looks mint! 👌👌👌👌🍻🍻
Always awesome, generous lady. Gee Whiz, wasn't her crocheting beautiful.
Heart warming.
Super nice lady mate, and definitely has talent. They're top quality little dolls and hats
Mate, the Ford in the video came before the XW. It's an XT, 1968 Falcon. I had an XT Fairmont station wagon which had a 289 ci V8 engine. Beautiful car. I wish I still had it. How amazing it must have been to see one in Laos!
Sumbydee ❤Thanks for sharing ❤
Looking forward to the little one's AUSSIE TOUR and her reactions!!
Coming along nicely. Can't wait for the Aus series 😊
House renovation looking good, hard to recognise from before. See Neene is dressed for the "cold" season 😂
Appreciate all the work you put in making these videos for people. Thank you
Wishing you and your family nothing but the best
Thanks Mikk 😉👍
🌈Lovely gifts Tao💯🥢🌠
The river house is looking good
Amazing progress! ❤
Hi Todd love the the progress on the house especially the Lao music upstairs where the locals were working. Only thing I didn't like was painting the upstairs teak wood exterior white . I would have left it natural but that's just my opinion. The boys have done a great job so far
Wow that’s starting looking good Todd ! Renovations house!🏠 👍👈
😂😂 the little Yodas! How cool are they 😂😂😂 . Mate If the locals could make those for the markets!
Eddie doesn't waste anytime. He gets on with it. Todd, a question for you ? Who pays for the paved road. So much progress in the house build. Hope your visit to Austrailia is fun .
Great stuff as always All the best mate 👍👍 Jim and Harriet
Good question! I did explain it in a clip, but I dribbled on for too long and edited it out. We pay for it Jim.. the residents. It's broken down into how much road frontage you own. The bigger your block with more road frontage the more you pay. You'll find most small neighbourhood streets are always funded by the residents here, while the government takes care of (tries to) the main roads. That's why most neighbourhood streets are concrete.. no potholes or maintenance 👌
Hey Todd great video mate the Falcon you're looking at is an XR 1967. 68
yep the tale lights. and xt had the bar going across.. I had an xr wagon back in the day, I went everywhere and camped in the back many a time.
An XR.. ok. Thanks for that. Near snapped me neck when I seen it. Not what I expected to see here!
Great daily life vlog.
Looking good with the reno's , neenee is doing a great job as site supervisor 😅
Have safe travels to Australia and a very merry Christmas and new year.
Looking forward to your return to laos and some more of your vlogs.
Take care ❤ to the family.
Hi Jackie 👋 thanks! Only a couple of weeks now.. really looking forward to it.
Neenee is doing a great job! 💚
Wow what a transformation love the colour can’t wait to see the finished house beautiful location too I would love to live there greetings from wales uk keep up the good work I look forward to watching your channel every week as I’m recovering from having my leg in plaster for 9 months 👍
Damn! What puts a leg in plaster for 9 months!? More importantly, what happens if you get a cramp 😦
@ hi Todd I had a motorcycle accident and broke all the bones in my foot and ankle as I have diabetes none of the bones are healing so they have put me in a cast to save my leg and to protect the bones until they get better hopefully I’ll be out of in in a few weeks so watching your channel cheers me up a lot and gets me through the day 👍
Looking Good!!
Howdy Todd,,what a relief to get that dust pit/mud bog of a road concrete! What a pain that dust is in the dry 's. I got stuck in one of those massive dust storms like they get in Aus. only mine was in Nevada. Basically I was stuck in my K5 Blazer for about 40 hours,,had to piss in a jug ,,lol but as tight as that K5 was sealed,,had new door dust seals,,dust still found ways to infiltrate. And it was strong alkaline dust and I had a reaction to it,,my throat dangler,,uvula swole up 300 percent,,I was gagging constantly,,couldn't breathe right. As soon as the wind calmed enough to see ,,I drove 40 miles to an emergency room and got a shot of eppie or adrenaline or something similar. Took about 4 days to get back to normal. Dust is incessant! Lol The river house is looking great. The stair ballister looked like it was worth saving and refinishing. Just save me about 25 feet along the bank,,I'll build a deck above the edge of the garden and set up a 20 foot yurt ,,with breezy screen windows towards the river and portal's along the side to snipe at the trash dumpers.😂😅 lol just joking and dream weaving. I kinda thought that was a ford falcon. Ford stopped production in the U.S. way before Aus and Brazil and other places. I dont think that hot motor was ever offered here. By 68 ford had too many other sporty and quick cars,,like the Torino and mustang,,dodge had a bunch of fast cars like the road runner and Plymouth barracuda,,and Chevy had the cream,,Vette,,Camero ,,Firebirds and 3 or 4 others,,Monte Carlo and.... lol,,chevelle. Dad has a valve replacement scheduled for Dec 11th.. he already feel quite a bit better after getting 2 stents in arteries from the bottom of his heart. It blows me away how well Mina bug relates to EVERYONE,,from babies to grandma's. She is a sweet,,kind kid. Intelligent way way beyond her 8 years.❤❤❤❤❤❤ I'm proud of how you and Neenee are guiding her along and I'm proud of her for how she responds. Cant wait for her to experience Aus. It's really going to help her English,,having a bunch of relatives that dont speak Hmong or Lao,,especially other kids,,and your granddaughter is going to be talking a bunch now I bet. Be interesting to see. Take care ,you guys,,Ttyl,,,Marlon
🤗🙏!
It’s looking great, I would want to rent it myself, great location.
Great video as well, thank you. I shared it with my family. 😊
Have a wonderful day ❤
Hey Tèo 👋
Looks great you guys must be super stoked. I love that shirt 555. I’d like to get one
I have called that car a Cortina 1964 or 63 would be my best guess. Keep up the great work Tod. Peace out.
❤🎉
I gotta get the 'Farang' shirt. Love it
I suggest that you look into contacting Lao Oz when you are in Australia. They are based in Sydney. The organization is made up of people with Lao heritage. They teach their children Lao language and culture. They also do schools in Laos. I think it would make an interesting video.
Hey Skip.. there's so many people we'd like to catch up with and places to see, but our itinerary is been completely booked out. Nowhere near enough time unfortunately 😕
@@NowinLao Maybe you could meet up with them when they come to Lao. Just something to think about.🙂
I'm surprised they're not doing one side of the street at a time. I bet that street will be better though. Stay well.
I hope you will be posting some video of your Australia trip including departure lounge, in the airplane, back in your Aussie home town, etc. It should be really exciting for the little girl (and us).
Yes Phil.. I'll be doing a Mina in Australia series 👌
Hi Todd. The Falcon you seen was a 1967 XR . Cheers.
@@PeterAbell-n4d It looks a bit smaller than the XY and XW I mentioned.. would that be correct? As somebody else pointed out that I missed.. it's left hand drive. Converted you think or did they export lefties?
@NowinLao they were also sold to the USA so it may of been an American model, did look tidy.
That is one hell of a slab those guys are doing on the road. Can see Mena racing along on her bike for sure. Great progress on the house you won't know it when you return from Oz mate. Bushyboy Oz.
Coco standing next to the truck the whole time thinking what the hell did I get myself into! 🤣😂🤣 ❤👍👍👍🙏
Wow. Improved capital value!
Hey Todd the house and the road are both looking really good. I'm glad you're leaving much of the house traditional. Your Tennant is a character - pretty sure that he wouldn't know who Steady Eddie was. Are you coming to Sydney for Christmas? I fly out for Thailand on 23/12 for four weeks.
Only arriving and departing Sydney Marc.. you have a good trip mate 👍
@@NowinLao Cheers
Looks great you'll have to move in
Todd, did they put expansion joints in the concrete road? Thanks for the update.
@@pakc6949 They cut them to in the following day
Did they put any hard core type 1 stone down on the road and compact it before they poured the concrete
@@peterward9755 Yes. The road and drains were done last year. Stone and road base compacted in then.
@@NowinLao thanks enjoy your content you have a beautiful little girl there
I'm curious.... Nene's cousin's home is amazing! I wonder how much it costs to build something that grand in Laos. Something like that is easily $5M here in the Boston area.
I'm hoping to get a ball park figure when it's complete and a tour through for you guys.😉👍
House is looking great mate. Do they have fly screens over there like Australia? Can’t recall seeing any in Indochina
Yeah they go mate, but you don't see them very often. We have them in our bedroom and kitchen.. that's about it lol
Yes mate xw fastest 4 door sedan at the time just don't try and go around a corner lol
😆👍
Looks like you will still be out of the country when I plan on being there in January. Guess I will have to just give you my next shoe money donation as a patreon member. Ya'll be safe and enjoy the trip.
Ah yes, I just seen that notification Shane.. was wondering if it was you. Thank you so much mate. No doubt you'll be back another time where we can catch up again. You getting everything sorted?
Cheers 👍
@@NowinLao Government Agencies run on paperwork and BS. Had to break down and hire a lawyer. I hired a good one, so now I'm a poor boy. The first round of the application and paperwork are in. Now sitting back, and waiting to be told what to do next. Will be taking even more pictures with her family in January when I'm there to show proof of the relationship.
Yes, photo evidence I have found goes a long way with things like this. Also, if you think of it, keep any receipts you get from taking the family out to dinner and things like that. It all helps mate. Wishing you guys all the best. 🍻
3:11 looks like a late 60s+ Falcon, Aussie car but why is it Left Hand Drive??? In the states the only built Falcons up to 1970 and nothing later. I don’t recognize it as a USA model.
@@vintageexcellence It is a 1966 US built Ford Falcon, the front fenders had pressed in side slats/gills, and slightly different cosmetic sheet metal design for the grill bonnet/hood compared to the 1967 Aussie built XR right hand drive variant. Regarding the blue car in Todd's video, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was a survivor car from when the US had some bases in Laos during the secret war of the 60's.
Hi Todd, did the neighbors chip in for the new concrete road? It looks so nice.
Yeah mate.. everybody chips in. Those with the biggest blocks pay more
@ Thanks for the info! That’s how it should be.
😂you like the Oregon duck too ho they're rang#1 now
Nice 👍
Hi Todd, Actually it's a left hand drive built US Ford Falcon in which was also built in Australia as the 1967 Ford Falcon XR, followed by the 1968 XT, 1969-70 XW and finally ending the square boxy styling in the 1970-71 in the XY series, it was the 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8 powered GTHO phase 3 was claimed to be the fastest production 4 door car in the world at the time at approximately 140 miles per hour. Canadian Born Alan Moffat won the Hardie Ferodo 500 Bathurst race in 1970 in a Windsor powered 351 cubic inch XW Falcon GTHO phase2 and again in 71 in a 351 cubic inch Cleveland powered XY Falcon Phase 3 GTHO.
In the US they made two door versions of this model as a cheaper variation to the Falcon Based Mustangs.
@@Arctic_Traveller Great info mate, thanks!
@@NowinLao Arrived back to the frigid North during the week, having spent a couple of weeks in an almost unrecognisable Perth, a result of being away for 6 years, the weather was just perfect, not too hot for the iceman to bear. Tucked into some of my favourites whilst there, for example straight from Bakewell (Mrs Mac's) factory Kiosk. meat pies, pasties, sausage rolls, then fish and chips, KFC, Arnotts BBQ shapes. I hope your trip to Australia has been as enjoyable as mine, apart from the 4 flight connections and 34 flight and transfer hours I had to endure in both directions. Looking forward to Now in Aussie videos.
All the food I've been missing and will be tucking into! Can't wait 😋
but left hand drive i notice
How long are u going to be in Australia for???
4 and a bit weeks 👍
I'm in laos in February till March will u be back??
@@tommynickxaisongkham Will be back at the end of January 👌
XR.. XT Falcon?
Did they put any wire mesh under it? If they poured that straight on the dirt it won’t last long
They did lay sand, then plastic and mesh 👌
USA ford LHD , seen a lot in Vietnam in the 1990s when l was there , said to be a CIA car from the 1960s
XR ?
With an early model front grill
Thinking xr
My old man had the xw station wagon lots of good memory's mate all over Western Australia 🇦🇺
you will have to raise your land or its going to be a lake
It's looking that way.. 😕
American Falcon
Just don't drink any locally made alcohol ❤
