What would you consider to be the ultimate book/publication on the Great Loop for would-be Loopers, and which would you recommend to boaters actually doing the Loop?
That's a tough question, and it depends on whether as would-be Loopers you're looking for planning information or more of a Great Loop narrative. But, I'd recommend "Honey, Let's Get a Boat" which is the boat that basically started AGLCA. You can purchase it at www.greatloop.com. I'd also recommend Waterway Guides (www.waterayguide.com) for both planners and current Loopers. You'd need the whole set to cover the entire route, but it's great information available both as actual books or digitally. AGLCA members get discounts on Waterway Guides books.
In these videos you appear to be seated on a boat. But, the bushes move and people walk by but the building and scenery behind you is motionless. Are you on a boat & is it on the hard?
Kathy and I are jealous! The 44 offshore Defever is our dream boat. Not many non-commercial trawlers have 1,500 NM range!
Italy will be there for another visit, LOL!

I am aboard a boat that is tied up in a marina slip. It is not on the hard, it's in the water.
