The question is, did they do it because you have a channel? What if you were a "normal" customer?

I addressed this in the video. Really not sure. I don’t think so because I offered to collab and they pointed me in the AR direction

I'm a normal customer who was offered the opportunity to pay for my repair, which I haven't done, as it was like half the cost of a new amp.

"We need to check your file" - he makes videos containing our products. Shame people selling "spares/repairs" ones, just after warranty, didn't get same level of customer service 🤣

In Australia they would have had to replace the amp by law at 2 years old if it was for private use.
Manufacturers warranty goes for whatever a reasonable time is that a product should last.
So if a similar product of that type and quality normally last 5 years - they have to provide a warranty of 5 years no matter what they specify themselves as the warranty period.
If a company offers an extended warranty plan - You don't have to pay for it as you automatically get that extended warranty cover as by offering it the company has admitted the product should last that long.
This only applies to consumer use and not business use. So if a working musician used an amp to gig - They only get the warranty specified by the manufacturer.
It seems Positive Grid are doing the right thing even in countries with poor consumer protection like the US.

Positive Grid (Spark) replaced my Spark CAB and paid for shipping, both ways, after my baby Pitbull broke the XLR connector. Thank you Positive Grid for your most excellent Customer Service ❤ My Positive Grid experience, in every regard, has been very, very good. I do not have a RUclips Channel. I’m just an average Customer.

The problem with these 1 or 2 year warranties is that it doesn't cover the damage from updates to the firmware that can brick it after the warranty expires. An update killed my Xbox one past its warranty and Microsoft did nothing even though it's their fault. They should have a hardware warranty for 1 year at least than a lifetime firmware warranty if it's damaged from updates.

I had an issue with a Spark 40. I installed a firmware update, restarted it and it worked fine. The very next time I turned it on - no sound. I contacted customer service and their solution was to reinstall the firmware - repeatedly - until things started to work. I messed with it for over an hour before it magically started working but there was that concern that it could happen at any time and I just didn’t want to deal with something unreliable so it became a paperweight. I ended up selling it to a sketch music instrument pawn shop just to get some money out of it
If I had been within the 30 day trial period I would have returned it. I won’t buy another Positive Grid product ever again

You only got a replacement because you have 23k subs. When my Spark died IN WARRANTY they told me to go pound sand.

This is honestly why I avoid modelling gear unless it's super dirt cheap. I know if an old tube or solid state amp problems and you take care of them they can be fixed and will outlast me as long as there's tubes and transistors available. When something digital breaks it's no different than a phone, it's just junk, and can fail randomly at any time. My buddy had a brand new headrush die on him after 8 months for no reason. Luckily the store was cool and gave him his money back

Positive Grid is a piece of shit company. I kept seeing some update but never installed. After installing my update the amp became intermittent. It would start stuttering and just cut out while playing. They sent me the address of a third party repair company. The unit was literally just a month out of warranty. I'm sure these updates are timed with the expiration of the warranty. They have a serious problem.

They seem to me like a reliable company that is truly trying their best, BUT ... I also had to wait a while for their customer service to respond. I would say they want to work on being a bit more responsive in a timely manner, especially when opening a new support case, perhaps they need a bit more staffing. But overall, I like this company a lot.

I'm surprised they didn't allow you to upgrade to the Spark 2, with that, they're probably happy to offload some of the 4os! Still, excellent customer service!
