So let's talk about some of the most expensive cards that have ever been found in Secret Lair drops. These get pricey pretty quickly, and let's also talk about why.

That snap caster mage is a leak and you can tell by the set number it doesn't follow the numbers right. If it was real itd have more than a single sale and it wouldn't have a picture from the leak as a card
this. It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s the additional card for the summer 2024 miku set or if it’s going to be in the third one.
There have been at least 5 found by my count on the subreddit. People are throwing around "printing error" but at the rate their being found, plus you have to add who knows how many found by people who don't use social media, I think its a rare bonus.

People are thinking its really supposed to be an include in the winter drop perhaps.Crazy if some dude spent 1500$ on it and lots more get released(even if its the rare one, its going to greatly increase in number and drop in price if that is the case)

@@Breviparopus That comes out to $6 a card. While yes, $6 cardboard sounds ridiculous, Magic has been around for 30+ years. We've spent way more than $6 on a piece of cardboard 🤣

I wonder what the most expensive cards that have only been printed as Secret Lair cards are. I think that would be pretty interesting to examine
Idk if there's been any recent developments on the snapcaster miku, but last I was informed, there's only 6 confirmed instances posted online of it being pulled, and was only confirmed to have been found in the non-foil English edition. The vast majority of the first miku secret lair instead had a Sakura tribe elder as it's bonus card across all language and foil/non foil variants.
Baaically the snapcaster miku was so rare, that it's highly suspected it was a distribution error and wasn't meant to be in that drop
This is 1 step away from NFTs.
Crazy how the most expensive secret lair card is a common with reversed text in a secret lair that's completely unrelated to it
Biggest I got was that Stained glass Narset from waaay back in the first SLs.
Really surprised you didn't mention Ragavan, hovering around $2800.
That is a Secret Lair Championship Promo and was not obtainable through any secret lair drops, so it didn’t qualify for the list.
I'd give it a bit more time for the electromancer one to hopefully drop way down in price since I highly doubt wizards would make it so rare there's only been one confirmed selling this early on
i seriously hope so, i’m an avid collector and am buying all 4 sets, hopefully i don’t have to spend thousands to get the few i miss

It went downhill starting with BFZ and expeditions man, it’s such a shame because I got into the game only a few years before that with the release of RTR, RTR +theros block was probably the last time MTG was truly good, khans was alright

I greatly dislike rare bonus cards in a product you buy a certain set of cards. You can get a mana Vault or trash. It is disgusting FoMo generation

Personally, I have no issue with expensive alternate cards. It allows collectors to have something they enjoy and don't really have to worry about being reprinted, while allowing players cheaper access to game pieces that can be reprinted with less backlash from the mtg finance community.

Most of these Secret Lairs are not worth the initial investment, the Professor has done a great number of videos on this.
If inclined, buy the ones you like.
Treating cardboard as an investment is a dubious proposition. It's literally the Holland Tulip phenomena.
Most sets have gone up in price over the years.
Opening old booster boxes usually means all the money spent on the box disappears, because the price of box usually doesn't match the price of the cards inside.
