Never been a fan of Aaron Woods in a Blues jersey, absolute enforcer and meat axe but listening to this chat with legend Gordie Tallis, he's good value. Great footy knowledge and chat, keep it up fellas!
Thoroughly enjoyed every fifty-two minutes of this podcast. Freeflowing, honest, detailed, non-garbage exchange done in the best spirit of State-of-Origin analysis. Tallis is such a legend.
"Bull by the Woods podcast" ...come on lads we need more content from this awesome duo... absolutely loved this podcast.. never been a fan of woodsy but listening to him was great, great interviewer..had me captivated the entire time.. awesome work lads🤙
35:44 the best thing about hammer’s try is Reese Walsh was doing hammer’s celebration too. That appears to be the major difference between Queensland and New South Wales at the moment. Queensland scores and it’s 1 in all in. New South Wales scores and the panthers celebrate together and everyone else is off with themselves.
I have never been a Tallis fan however he surprised me at how fair and balanced he was in his assessment. He was analytical but explained things in a way for non footy players to understand . Calm, didn’t gloat and gave good insights into qld but in particular nsw and he doesn’t see the doom and gloom of some of the nsw fans. Was also fair on Freddy . Well done to Aaron also comfortable interview style which probably helped Gordon get into his groove .
Same with me listening to Aaron woods and Willie Mason on his podcast. Grew up in Central Queensland hating these guys but on their podcasts they actually seem like good blokes and I find myself agreeing with them a lot.
Freddy's coaching is reactionary, Slater's is visionary. Makes a bunch of cooked selections based on a "gambling" aka "hope this pays off" mindset, then when he loses game 1, he reacts by backtracking and making sweeping changes. Picks an in-form half, prepares him as a hooker, then sits him on the bench for 80 minutes. (or until an outside back gets injured). Hynes was there for the sake of being in the squad, there was no vision for him. Slater is strategic and picks a side to suit. He doesn't wait to see how Fittler's team will play and react accordingly, because by then it would be too fking late.
Shouldnt the Penrith players complain about Queensland having postcode stuff on the jerseys? I thought after they lost to Melbourne in the GF and Melbourne done some post code stuff the Panthers came out and had a sook about how postcode stuff was only for them.
2022 - Adelaide crows average attendance - 31429 Port Adelaide average attendance - 29693 Maybe when they play each other they would get a big crowd but they average around 30,000 to each game so he was spot on
I don't know boys i watched the girls origin..I saw poor conversion attempts. wonky kicks on the 5th tackle and heaps of ball drops on the 1st and 2nd tackle. also kicking the ball out on the full. Trying to be a fan but that stuff makes ya wild
Yep, but compare it to men’s league in 1970s because that’s where the girls are financially. Remember the girls aren’t playing 26rounds hell they aren’t even mid season.
Teddy has to go, absolute momentum killer with his sideways running, gets in the way and never passes. Not a team player, never has been never will be.

Yes. Luvn this chat. He's really good
Agree, good chat these two.
Remember though that Woodsy had one origin game in which he and Teddy had near perfect performances. He has put in for us.
Both legends
The raging bull always had plenty of footy smarts and I love Woodsy. Might seem strange but they both speak a lot of sense. Really enjoyable.
Loved this episode!!!!!

Woodsy & Gordy held it down with this poddy 🔥 need more content from this duo 🙌
Yeah woodsy and Tallis are a combination I never knew I needed!
Think Woodsy has found his calling... Needs his own Poddy 🙌
Would never expect these two to be a good podcast combo 👌
Maaate , neither!! 😅

Woodys surprised me, top bloke
Woodsy and Gordie are powerful combination.

We need more of this...
I can remember game 2 of the origin in 1989 when Qld had 12 men on the field and no reserves for more than 4 minutes
Queensland Clean Sweep WOOOOOO
Awesome listen
You just found yourself another hit pod Charlie
Love this
Loved this. Uppa Woodsy ya NSW dog

Tully Tiger's Represent!
I was at the game when Wally led 11 players left to win after all those injuries.....that was the greatest of all time
Cleary is always compared to johns and langer. Yet he’s never exceeded the levels of Taylor or sherwin.
Both Adelaide team’s average around 45,000 when they play each other…. Not sure where Gordy gets his stats ….

@@pstaden Given reports about 15000 (estimated) travelled from NSW and QL to Adelaide for the game maybe Gordie not quite so "spot on".
Need to do something about the background noise.
Lindsay Collins was an inside centre during schoolboy rugby
Magic round stays in Brisbane
NSW has to stop talking about what they’re going to do in Origin, and just show up and DO IT instead 🤦🏾♀️
The answer is cheaper ticket prices. During a cost of living crisis asking $200+ ea for 1 game is ridiculous
Come on Tallis rag doll him, no no was good interview 👍
6:18 had to put the boot in didn't ya mate
Wood ,'That's why he's an immortal!'
Tallis suspicious 🤔 'Is he?'
'Yeah, just ask him'
😅😅😅😅😅
BEHAVE 😅
Mighty Ivanhoe's 😂
Adelaide oval sells out for big bash games lol
Its soooooooooooo Simple : Best Team Won - end of Story - making us sooooo sick to hear all the Sour Grapes from NSW !!!!
Woodys come on Freddy won 3 series not 2

first change NSW need to do is get rid of that stupid jersey
Surely the Sky Blue should be sacrosanct. As a Queenslander I thought it very very strange indeed. In our great game tradition is hugely important.
Origin at mcg has always been sold out.
Total clown on the field for NSW, but excellent podcast host 🤣 keep it up!
Teddy has to go, absolute momentum killer with his sideways running, gets in the way and never passes. Not a team player, never has been never will be.
This is quality content
Yeah woodsy awesome at media
