His resume as a 168 boxer is incomparable. Those who love to talk about Calzaghe because he beat up one overrated short, flat footed, muscle bound Black guy, who only punched off one wing named Jeff Lacy are quick to dismiss that Froch never ducked anyone in their prime and went into enemy territory. He will always be considered as one of the best 168 boxers in recent memory.

A huge fan of Froch since the Pascal fight which I regard as one of the most brutal fights I have ever seen. It was a fight that should have taken a lot out of both of them. Yet, Froch won that fight and continued to have some epic but absolutely brutal encounters until the very end. I understand the frustration that Froch felt throughout his career as he never got the plaudits he deserved and sometimes that comes out in his slightly abrasive comments. However, nobody can take away what this boxer did in his career and he had some of the best fights ever seen by a British boxer. I would put him in the top 4 UK boxers of all time with Lennox, Calzaghe, Naseem and Froch. You always got your moneys worth with Carl Froch and he brutalised most he came in front of.
I started watching and listening to Rummy's Corner at the beginning of this year. I'm only a young pup myself though.
Froch was a massive over achiever, nobody could have predicted he would do as well as he did after watching him earlier in his career..It’s a credit to his physical and mental toughness and will to win,he wasn’t as good as some others in his division technically, easily hit and could be outboxed comfortably (Ward),However...He was a fighter who could go deep into the trenches and it served him better than any other Super middle for about 8 years (Ward aside). No question a very tough guy and a deserved 3 time champion and has been involved in some highly entertaining fights through his career.
@Alexi Barona hbo said Chavez is ppv but GGG doesn't have a name in America yet so won't be ppv yet untill gggs name gets bigger in america. That's what hbo said. Plus gggs trainer at the time didn't want GGG at supermiddle. Do your research froch ducks no1
Alexi Barona Na he was retired when he said to big to strong for GGG he was trying to stay relivant mate because Joshua was after filling Wembley wit 90+,000 and he was salty coz he was the attendance record holder at the time
The Froch on Fighting podcast is my new favorite. I highly recommend it to any fight fan. Carl describes what life is like as a champion prizefighter. He comes across as a very intelligent, and even likable. Just like Lennox Lewis, I have a renewed appreciation for him and his career.
Froch is probably the most underrated fighter in history. He fought a murderer's row starting with Pascal & the only man he faced that he never beat retired undefeated himself.
Froch had a great career, fought everyone at 168 pretty much. Ward totally schooled him though and as much as Froch called for a rematch, I don't believe he ever wanted it. He knew Ward had his number.
Unlike some I couldn't care care less what a fighter says out of the ring its what they do in the ring the counts and Froch was the most consistently exciting fighter I've seen this century.
Froch has an extremely deep record. He may have lost to Ward but he fought anyone and everyone and beat almost all the top super middleweights during that period.
Although it has become a bit of a joke now, it cannot be denied that the two Groves fight surpassed expectations and was one of the great British sporting rivalries. Since then, I can only think of the Haye Bellew fights that attracted anywhere near that kind of attention and lived up to the hype.
Brilliant channel and content mate, I find myself watching quite a few of your videos. I prefer them to other channels for mainly 2 reasons. One being you're not just another voice over (or worse, a pc voice) channel. And two, you even look and sound like a stereotypically legit corner man from New York 😆 You do know your stuff though so at least you can get away with it 👀👍
People have a negative opinion of him, but he is one of the few boxers who never ducked anybody, he fought the best there was in the division during his era and had the best chin I've ever seen in boxing.
Another great video. I have to say, as someone who is about Froch's size and who has just started some boxing training for the first time ever (heavy bag etc. in my garage, great for the lockdown), I can't think of any fighter I'd less like to face.
Froch had a hell of a career, multiple time champion and chin to match. He had several fights were he came from behind to win and beat some solid competition too.
Froch has a terrific record. Everyone knows wins in your opponents own country are very hard to achieve and Froch fought Taylor, Kessler, Johnson and Ward in their own countries, and fought Abraham and Porras in neutral countries.
Simple fact is, Carl is one of the great UK Champions. Went to peoples back yard, was never scared of anyone. Was a bit fortunate at key moments in his career, Taylor and Direll fights I feel were career "sliding door" moments. And the soul taking Ward put on him stands out. But you can not argue with the mans resume, it stands up hugely to any of his Champion countrymen. Calzaghe ran from him into retirement.
When froch fought I was always excited to see his fights he loved a fight he didnt have the speed of some fighters or the skills but he loved to mix it with best and he was tough as old boots
Frotch has never been given credit for what he done. He only failed to beat one opponent in his career, and was hard as nails. Always enjoyed watching his fights. A true champion for his time. Second only to Andre Ward in his division.
His career was sadly overlooked by the casual boxing fan due to arriving on the stage while Joe Calzaghe was stepping off. His record of fighting quality opposition from Pascal to Groves is exemplary and should be respected 🥊 💯
Come to mind there was another "Cobra" called Istvan Kovacs from Hungary. He was a tremendous amateur - won everything including the Olimpic gold. He wasn't so great as Froch in the professional circuit but he managed to become the first ever pro hungarian world champ in boxing history. The name Cobra suited him much better because he was really fast. Looking at Carl Froch he really wasn't. Still kudos for the great chin and heart for Froch.
Before watching the video, if you don't mention 80,000 fans at Wembley watching Carl Froch beat George Groves, we riot
Backed him up and smashed him to bits.

Sven Ottke lol
Exellant video Rummy, you don,t do many but when you do it,s right up there with the very best of boxing channels, thanks for this.
Froch is gonna be so proud to have got his own Rummy's Corner profile... or will that be smug?!
0:19 thats a lot of belts to be showing off for a vacant title
Lol these are all meaningless regional belts
@@anonym58063 regional yes meaningless only if your not a hardcore boxing fan
@@anonym58063 Thats what i was trying to figure out, they look a bit micky mouse...
Man, Froch is one tough sob. Stamina, punchingpower, granite-chin, underrated skills - this is what champions are made of.
Please make a Mikkel Kessler Championship Profile video!
Please do Thomas Hitman Hearns championship video
I love that he mentions wembley every chance he get and no one can take his moment away i literally wait for it lol
“Too big, too strong for GGG”- Carl Froch
@Alexi Barona hbo said Chavez is ppv but GGG doesn't have a name in America yet so won't be ppv yet untill gggs name gets bigger in america. That's what hbo said. Plus gggs trainer at the time didn't want GGG at supermiddle. Do your research froch ducks no1
He also thinks Earth is flat.
Plastic nose from Poland
GGG too good for Froch,Froch is mouthing off safe in the knowledge he's retired lol
Not a Carl Froch fan but liked the video anyways Rummy. You deserve every like you can get you’re a true historian.
Idk if you guys know this, but Carl Froch KO'D George Groves at Wembly Stadium in front of 80,000 people.
Another good championship profile by Rummy. Keep them coming!
He’s become an unpopular figure in British boxing but his resume speaks for itself. One of the best champions from the UK.
Carl Froch - The King of blocking...
With his face! 😁
True granite chin though!
@Christy Dolan oh absolutely. It's not an insult, just an observation. GGG vs Froch would have been great for fans.. Chin wise
Snob276 when you've got a granite head why not
That's why he got that nose job and nice girlfriend
The most underrated boxing channel..
Really enjoyed watching him fight, always in fantastic scraps. Pascal, Taylor, Kessler I & II, Bute, Groves I & II. All classics.
Carl the contradiction Froch
I had never heard of Froch before the super 6 tournament, but he's easily still one of my favorite fighters.
Although it has become a bit of a joke now, it cannot be denied that the two Groves fight surpassed expectations and was one of the great British sporting rivalries. Since then, I can only think of the Haye Bellew fights that attracted anywhere near that kind of attention and lived up to the hype.
I love your videos and often recommend you to friends. No1 boxing channel on RUclips
Excellent analysis and video! Thanks for posting.
Wait, how many people were at Wembley to watch him knockout groves again?
Brilliant channel and content mate, I find myself watching quite a few of your videos. I prefer them to other channels for mainly 2 reasons.
One being you're not just another voice over (or worse, a pc voice) channel.
And two, you even look and sound like a stereotypically legit corner man from New York 😆
You do know your stuff though so at least you can get away with it 👀👍
new episode, i'm in !!
Froch was as tuff as they come...…..his heart would never give up the fight and his belief in himself was sec to none!!! Respect ;-)
Your vids are great but wonder if your betting on winner is getting any better from are last chat 4 months ago hope you are well
Really enjoyed watching this. I missed a lot of Froch's fights cos I moved from England to Japan, but he was clearly a world-class
pugilist.
Never been a big fighter but what a fighter
Simple fact is, Carl is one of the great UK Champions. Went to peoples back yard, was never scared of anyone. Was a bit fortunate at key moments in his career, Taylor and Direll fights I feel were career "sliding door" moments. And the soul taking Ward put on him stands out.
But you can not argue with the mans resume, it stands up hugely to any of his Champion countrymen. Calzaghe ran from him into retirement.
Damn.. I need to watch Froch vs Pascal now. It looks like an absolute battle.
Great video - thanks for making this!!
I loved following Frochs career, brilliant boxer, hard as nails and had some brilliant fights. Love the Cobra!
Love rummys videos, always excited for the next one
When froch fought I was always excited to see his fights he loved a fight he didnt have the speed of some fighters or the skills but he loved to mix it with best and he was tough as old boots
Frotch has never been given credit for what he done. He only failed to beat one opponent in his career, and was hard as nails. Always enjoyed watching his fights. A true champion for his time. Second only to Andre Ward in his division.
Rummy videos and commentary are the best
Froch is underrated. The guy has a very good resume.
Not really lost too many fights. Cesar the ever 90 fights no lost. U ignorants don’t know too much about boxing. America best fighters ever
His career was sadly overlooked by the casual boxing fan due to arriving on the stage while Joe Calzaghe was stepping off. His record of fighting quality opposition from Pascal to Groves is exemplary and should be respected 🥊 💯
Another great piece bro 👍🥊
One of my all time favourite fighters, what a chin on that guy!
Another great video. Thank you.
Excellent video Rummy!
80,000 @ Wembley?
I heard that somewhere once?
Would love it if you did some other British fighters Championship fight vids - maybe Amir Khan, Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe etc
He was a great boxer I loved his fights cuz you knew he’d give 100% I don’t care about his personality because I don’t know him
Nice video. Can you please do a championship profile or career perspective video on Pernell Whittaker?
Come to mind there was another "Cobra" called Istvan Kovacs from Hungary. He was a tremendous amateur - won everything including the Olimpic gold. He wasn't so great as Froch in the professional circuit but he managed to become the first ever pro hungarian world champ in boxing history. The name Cobra suited him much better because he was really fast. Looking at Carl Froch he really wasn't. Still kudos for the great chin and heart for Froch.
