Punk vs Y2J at Extreme Rules 2012 should honestly be on the list. Their WM 28 match while pretty good took it's time really get going while their Chicago Street Fight at Extreme Rules really lived up to their personal blood feud
I agree personally I hated the Mania 28 booking mainly cause I wanted Punk to beat the shit out of Jericho and I personally think that “if the champ gets DQed or Counted out they lose” stop only works for heels. Also Johnny Ace making it that was stupid because his reasoning was “punk didn’t celebrate him becoming Raw GM” I’m sorry he was preparing for his match
I think Cena duct taping Batista's legs around the pole is a good finish to a last man standing match. Sure, it's silly, but wrestling should sometimes be silly, and this finish makes use of the unique win condition of the stipulation, so I like it.
If the rematches stipulation included PPVs from further on in the same year, the Hell in a Cell match for Batista v HHH would 100% be on here. That cell match is ludicrous from start to finish, and I still love the ending shot where they toyed with the idea that Trips would bail out with the sledgehammer only to not pull the trigger fast enough. Solid list all round, and keep up the amazing work ^^
"The list of highlights from Ronda Rousey's second run might be shorter than the list of conspiracy theories she believes in" MATE AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that is one awesome line XD
Looking back at it, we can all agree that Sheamus is one the most underrated performers of all time, his resume with loads of bangers goes on and on, from his early prime around 2009-2014, to The Bar, to the resurgence of The Celtic Warrior we have today🔥vs Morrison at TLC'10, vs Bryan at Ex.Rules '12, vs Big Show at HITCell'12, vs Cesaro at Payback'14, vs Cesaro at Clash Of Champs'16, vs New Day at Roadblock'16, vs The Hardy Boyz at Ex.Rules'17, vs Ambrose & Rollins at SummerSlam'17, vs McIntyre at Fastlane'21, vs Riddle at Mania 37, vs Gunther at COTCastle'22, vs Gunther & McIntyre at Mania 39, vs Edge on SmackDown,...⭐
Honorable mention to John Cena vs Shawn Michaels. Their Wrestlemania 23 match was fine. But, the next match they had was a 69 minute classic, that I rabk as one of the best matches to ever occur on televised wrestling. The only reason it can't make a list like this is because it happened on the Monday Night Raw 6 days before before Backlash. If Tempest hadn't specified that it must take place at "the very next pay-per-view, I would have placed Michaels/Cena at Number 1 for this list.
Punk and Rey's feud could have gone on a bit longer if Punk had won at Mania. The Randy/Punk feud was great... except that Punk lost ALL 3 MATCHES in the feud. 🤦🏾♂️
Finally, someone who acknowledges that Punk/Orton & Rey/Cody were good matches at Mania 27. Im not trying to say that Mania 27 is some hidden gem, but it does annoy me when people say that the show has nothing good on it (I’d argue it has more good on it than Mania 32.)
Honourable mention goes to Triple H Vs the Rock at Backlash 2000, not included in this list for obvious reasons... But that should have been the main event of Mania.
Just based on how bad the first match was, I’m surprised Hogan and Yoko from KOTR 93 isn’t on this list. Not a great match by any means but better than the 30 second match at Mania 9
Fun fact: I attended wrestlemania 28 and as i was making my way through the arena my friends and i could hear Sheamus' music hit for his entrance and before we even made it out of the tunnel to go to our seats his music hit again and we had to confusingly ask what happened and had the match explained to us 😂😂
Sheamus/Bryan gives me so many feelings. First, I was very looking forward to their match at WM27 and I watched, waiting for their match, and then Cena/Miz started, had no clue it happened on the preshow... Then WM28......ooff....but their Extreme Rules 2 out of 3 falls match was everything that their match not at WM27 should had been. Highlighted both up and comers strengths perfectly, both guys stock rose due to this match. Why I'm so torn by Vince, because he's proven time and time again that he was good at his job....when he cared.
Jericho vs. Punk from ER 2012 seems like a pretty glaring omission. I'm also shocked at #1, I think Rock and Austin's match at Mania 15 was the best match they ever had.
Not included in the list because of rules, but backlash 2007 fatal 4 way match HBK-Cena-Orton-Edge and Edge-Cena Backlash 2009, some of my favorites “rematches” ❤
To my knowledge triple h is 5-6 in backlash Beating owen, x pac, brothers of destruction, won a 6 man tag in 03 and won against orton in 08 Lost 6 The rock, hulk hogan, Benoit in a triple threat, batista, another triple threat to john cena and edge a 6 man to legacy I don't know if I'd call that better then average
Rowan vs The Rock would have been on here if "The Great One" hadn't spent the next however 3 years hiding from Big Red before returning to help Becky against Corbin on Smackdown. To this day, Rocky fears Rowan!
If it wasn't for the rule that the match had to be on the following ppv, i think that John Cena vs JBL at Judgement Day 2005 and HHH vs Y2J at Judgement Day 2002 would be on this list
I really dislike the following ppv rule because John Cena vs Shawn Michaels on on the April 23rd 2007 Raw would've easliy been like top 3 for me and I'll die on that hill
You could put practically the entire 2022 WrestleMania Backlash on the list, all the rematches were better, including Cody vs. Seth which was the best match between them (sorry HIAC)
Sheamus and Daniel Bryan could of had a match that would be more boring than watching paint dry and it would still be better than the 17 second match at Wrestlemania 27
No Ronda rousey fan here at all, I pride myself on being unbias, Ronda vs Charlotte WM 38 was pretty solid the problem is the crowd hated both of them. To call the Backlash match quite decent is an understatemate the crowd started out the same way, but it was so good by the end crowd started cheering Ronda.
Punk vs Y2J at Extreme Rules 2012 should honestly be on the list. Their WM 28 match while pretty good took it's time really get going while their Chicago Street Fight at Extreme Rules really lived up to their personal blood feud
Good shout. Extreme Rules 2012 was an awesome show.
Agree. Such a great match
YES ! I loved that match at the time, was it not for Taker/HHH, I think it's my favorite WWE match of 2012.
I agree personally I hated the Mania 28 booking mainly cause I wanted Punk to beat the shit out of Jericho and I personally think that “if the champ gets DQed or Counted out they lose” stop only works for heels. That QT Marshall jab was hilarious😂😂😂

I never understood the hate for the finish. Babyface overcoming the bigger meaner heel using his brain
Del Rio was the face when he did that

Sheamus could always have good matches. It was being pushed too soon, and the booking of his character that held him back for many years.
Honorable mention: undertaker vs Batista in 2007. Their last man standing match was a BANGER
Yeah but their match at WrestleMania was honestly just as good.
Honorable mention to John Cena vs Shawn Michaels.
Their Wrestlemania 23 match was fine. But, the next match they had was a 69 minute classic, that I rabk as one of the best matches to ever occur on televised wrestling.

CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio and CM Punk vs. Randy Orton were fun feuds to watch back in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
It's the other way around
@@giovanniaroca5755 Thanks.
Punk and Rey's feud could have gone on a bit longer if Punk had won at Mania. The Randy/Punk feud was great... except that Punk lost ALL 3 MATCHES in the feud. 🤦🏾♂️
@@urbaindelva7869 They just have two matches on PPV, they have another match on RAW or something? I don't remember that
Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus at Extreme Rules 2012 gets my vote. Honourable mentions to Steve Austin vs. The Rock at Backlash 1999.
They couldn't let Daniel and Sheamus steal the show at Mania, but they let them do it at Extreme Rules. Geez. 🤦🏾♂️
This list is great! Steiner maths is better than the Pipebomb
This gets it

Those two matches were some of the only good things on that show.
Lol what Tempests BIGGEST pet peeve is falls count anywhere matches ending in the ring? They count anywhere. INCLUDING the ring.
Yeah, but why not have them end somewhere other than the ring?
Did tempest say “chief keef”😂😂😂 hol on playa I didn’t no you was down like that
Honourable mention goes to Triple H Vs the Rock at Backlash 2000, not included in this list for obvious reasons... But that should have been the main event of Mania.
If they do best matches at backlash list, that probably be #1
Just based on how bad the first match was, I’m surprised Hogan and Yoko from KOTR 93 isn’t on this list. Not a great match by any means but better than the 30 second match at Mania 9
2:48 burying the fuck outta QT Marshall 😂
The PPV stipulation is the only reason Shawn Michaels vs John Cena on RAW for 45 minutes isn't #1.
I lost it at 02:44 😂😂
1:54 OK Tempest, we get it, you're a Leafs fan.
BTW, enjoy that 3-1 series deficit.

Imagine losing to Kane on your birthday. It's the worst birthday surprise ever!
You think that's bad? Sheamus once got eliminated from the Royal Rumble in 2018 in roughly two seconds on HIS birthday by Heath Slater.
@@KestrelOmega After he was beaten up over and over before he could get into the ring!
@@claytonrios1 Yes, it was hilarious to watch.

RANDAL CHIEF KEEF ORTON 🤣🤣🤣
I thought this was a list of wrestlemania rematches. Not wrestlemania rematches on ppvs. Cause I was wondering where cena vs Michaels on Raw was 😅
Punk vs Orton feud in 2011 was awesome I didn’t like the booking but I appreciated the talent of both competitors
Jericho vs. Punk from ER 2012 seems like a pretty glaring omission. I'm also shocked at #1, I think Rock and Austin's match at Mania 15 was the best match they ever had.

"WHAT IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION!"
I was so happy when Kane won at Mania 28, he deserved that win off of Orton. Love Kane and Undertaker
To my knowledge triple h is 5-6 in backlash

Lost 6
The rock, hulk hogan, Benoit in a triple threat, batista, another triple threat to john cena and edge a 6 man to legacy
I don't know if I'd call that better then average
I think he meant in terms of having a good match, not necessarily win rate.
I can never tell when tempest is being sarcastic 😅
Rowan vs The Rock would have been on here if "The Great One" hadn't spent the next however 3 years hiding from Big Red before returning to help Becky against Corbin on Smackdown.
To this day, Rocky fears Rowan!
I think that Benoit vs HBK vs HHH at Backlash 04 should be on here. The crowd made that match unbelievable!!
With a finish that was so poetic, HHH trying to reach HBK to stop shawn to tap out.
If it wasn't for the rule that the match had to be on the following ppv, i think that John Cena vs JBL at Judgement Day 2005 and HHH vs Y2J at Judgement Day 2002 would be on this list
You could have done Batista & Triple H's match from Vengeance 2005 instead
Triple H vs Batista at 21 is a great match! Wtf
8:01 Thank you, Ronda *clap, clap, clap-clap-clap*
Kane VS Randy Was Street Fight no?
How does Rhonda winning the title cause a chain reaction to force Naomi and Sasha to leave?
Honorable mention Without watching the video Backlash 2007 Batista vs Taker they had a better than their Mania match

Hello 👋
I hope WWE gives Jey and Jimmy a chance at a rematch.
Yeah, they REALLY need to make up for THAT dud at some point.
🎉
Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair should be on this list.
Killing a dog you say?
*Kristi Noem enters the chat*
Disagree on the Cena/Batista one
