    Question: what do you guys think about the beach in Torremolinos?

    • @denniszenanywhere

      Glad you're back. I like the cons you did (especially the mention of aesthetics), but since Google is coming, shouldn't it jumpstart the economy there? When Google launched in NY (they took a building that covered an entire block), the tech scene became so vibrant and more tech companies followed suit.

      @@denniszenanywhere good point! We can hope that Google can attract even more tech giants. Although, until now Malaga has been a popular place for major corporations to set up shop due to the low wages in a Western European context. Hopefully, companies will come more so for the skills rather than the (low) wages. Oh well, let's see.

      @@FriiInfo Btw, the ugly side of tech giants coming there could bring about the ugly culture of firings and layoffs in the US. Last night, everyone here in the US was talking about the suspicious firing of the Open AI CEO and a few hours later, its president. I don't know if layoffs there are rampant or inhumane like the US.

      The beach in Torremolinos is (imo) significantly nicer than the beach in El Palo.

    Lots of pro and con videos out there for Torremolinos, but this was the most watchable. Honest, concise, and informative. Love the 5 minute length and subscribed because of this video. Thanks.

    And yes, torremolinos is old and ugly because it became very famous in the 60's and 70's and still remains on that aesthetic

    If you could start again would you choose a different location to live? Which Costa Del Sol towns do you think are superior in terms of aesthetics whilst still having easy access to Malaga?

    • @FriiInfo
      @FriiInfo 7 месяцев назад +2

      What an interesting question! Well actually, I don't think there are any beach towns that are "prettier" while still being close to Malaga. I really like the bay in La Herradura, but that is super far from Malaga. I live in the part of Torremolinos that's called Playamar, which is just pretty neutral and residential, with the beach nearby. This, to me, is a good compromise.

      Nerja is also nice, but still an hours drive with no train option. Estepona and Marbella same issue.@@FriiInfo

    What did you mean by the beach not being natural? i love that Torremolinos is popular with the LGBT community.

    • @FriiInfo
      @FriiInfo Месяц назад

      Yup, I love that too 🌈
      So the beach is not natural in the sense that the sand has been "added".

    • @jimshackelford6302
      @jimshackelford6302 27 дней назад

      This is true of many many beaches around the world. People don't usually give a lot of thought to it. I suspect the beaches along Torremolinos are natural, but would be very different as a tourist attraction if sand weren't added every year, and if a large quantity hadn't been added at some point, maybe the 1960s.
      Even if a beach has wonderful sand, it may have come from a quarry two miles away.
      I'm hard pressed to think of a beach that gets huge numbers of visitors that doesn't add sand, and doesn't use machines to arrange the sand. They were doing that in Shirahama, Japan in April when we were there, preparing for the tourist season. It is famous for white sand, but that doesn't mean additional white sand isn't trucked in.
