the instrument NB is holding is Dombyra, It is a beautiful national musical instrument. You can search it up on youtube and see for yourselves, it can play literlally any melody.
And the image of lead being poured on the dombyra is a direct reference to a legend about origins of a folk kui (a piece played on a dombyra) Aksak Kulan(lame\limping onager)
Basically when Juchi Khan(genghis khan`s son) lost his son, who was gone hunting onagers, no one as able to tell him about his son`s death, because he ordered to pour down lead down their throat if someone would deliver bad news. And when some kazakh guy was forced to do the job, he started playing the kui Aksak Kulan, it was so soul crushing and sorrowful that Juchi understood that his son is dead and started weeping. He wanted to execute the man who played the kui, but the man said that he didn`t say a thing, It was all his dombyra, It delivered the news to the Khan. So Juchi Khan poured the lead into the guy`s dombyra.
Yeah, it pretty much was an homage to our musical and cultural heritage and to Dombyra, probably the mightiest kazakh musical instrument that can play anything

The Dombyra has a very beautiful sound, we can see why it is so special and a national musical instrument. It seems like such an interesting legend and it's so cool that they played homage to it all. Thank you for letting us know!
