So what does that say about our ability of foresight?..should foresight not be a part of our consciousness then?..we are at the centre of past, present and future, and most of us utilize all three for a real life experience.

Sorry but I don't agree with this, sometimes we look back and recall happy events and feel happiness and sometimes we look forward in excitement about an upcoming event and experience happy feelings. Obviously the opposite can be true too when looking backward or forward and we can experience sadness or fear and worry. The imagination is a double edged sword 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hope for a future state of happiness is a secular redefinition of belief in an afterlife, which has been an absolutely fundamental component of human society since the very dawn of time and has only been waning in a few short centuries. It's extremely difficult to find a spiritual path in a world that seems meaningless and random, unless you have faith in some form of deity or benign universal intelligence. But Eckhart offers hope in finding a personal spiritual centre even in a meaningless world, whether or not he would not agree with that assessment, and that's an amazing achievement.
That applies to first world societies, poverty and violence are unfortunately still a reality for way too many of us. Many ppl are not concerned with having a better car, but having acces to water and shelter.

When M. Tolle says that we should stay in present moment he forgets that the future shouls always émerge from our imagination of it. Our mental shoul always visualize what we have to do. Fir exemple à Farmer can not throught seeds and forgets them. He should always programm and imagine the harvest abd thats what gives him a desire and motivation to continue xhat he does.

Of course looking forward to spending money on objects is another example of “ when I” thinking. My late grandmother used to live for her yearly holiday and Christmas. It kept her going. I suppose advertising and society want us to be this way. I met my ex wife my princess who would love me and make me happy. You know how that ends.

My mind is quite often chaotic and producing lots of crazy fearful thoughts for me to either get involved with or let pass by without interest or attention. I can't stop my mind producing whatever it wants to produce but then again I stopped trying to control my mind and the thoughts it produces for me quite a few years ago and most of the time me and my mind get on just fine, but sometimes especially when I'm really tired my mind can still hijack my attention for a while. But compared to the years I spent being 100% at the complete mercy of my minds thoughts, fears and worries every waking hour I'm very very grateful for 90% freedom I have today 🙏🙏🙏🙏

She had to make great effort to surrender her desire, and then by a seeming miracle, the part did go to her. (you can find her telling it on RUclips). I love stories like that, b/c I didn't grow up thinking in nondualistic terms, (and you probably didn't either) so I can relate to the form of prayer that Oprah talks about.
