And thank you for all of the inspiration. My mind just explodes with ideas and newfound excitement every time you bring a new dream machine into the world. MercuryX rules!
So grateful for your approach to sound. I won a Meris pedal on Reddit years back. Y’all asked everyone what drew them to Meris. I chose Nosaj Thing’s session because it showed me how myopic I’d been only using pedals for guitar and bass. I chose the Merc7 which hasn’t left my board unless I’m running it through my Microkorg or an app on my phone field recording in the woods. It’s a pedal that’s so dynamic that it opened my mind to being lawless when starting a song. I’m willing to get weird with any sound that resonates or sounds interesting, whether it be unique a bird I sample or a rhythmic pattern I hear in construction resonating through the walls of my office. Music is more fun when there’s no rules! Trying to save up for a Meris MercX. I think I’ll sell a niche guitar to a new home to speed up the process lol.
Really great to be back with a demo for a new Meris pedal. Their pedals always inspire me unlike anything else, and it was a true honor getting to test-drive MercuryX as one of the first people outside of Meris. If you're into sound designs and creating custom sounds that unmistakably sound like you, then MercuryX is a must-have. Its vast sonic playground unlocked some of the best sounds I've ever heard and created, and I can't wait to dive deeper and make more videos on it in the future. Please let me know what your favorite sound from the demo was, I would love to know

Man. I had to stop watching pedal review videos ….. and enjoy everything that I have, which is a handful and an ambient lovers dream set up for sure …..very happy. …..but honestly I do love your channel. I love your playing and I love everything about the videos you make. Between my cloudburst, and Night Sky I have all the Reverb I’ll ever need. But if I didn’t have those petals, then this would be something I would look at.
Means so much to me to hear you enjoy the way I demo pedals. Thank you! And yeah, you're definitely covered nicely on the ambient front with the pedals you already have. But I hope you get the chance to try a MercuryX at some point at least. Think you would love it. It covers so much sonic ground.
Absolutely stunning. Really a pretty decent value considering the CXM algo's are in there and how much that one costs... As many others have stated you are perfect for this type of demo!
Thank you so much! Yeah, this pedal does command a high price tag, but it is fully justified. What you get for your money here is absolutely insane. This is not just a reverb. It's a fully fledged modular multi-effect system.
I join other commentators in praising your playing skills. I have been a Mercury 7 owner for a long time and am very satisfied with this pedal in every aspect, except for the pitch shifter (upper octave) sound. I notice that in this device, the sound is much less metallic, but still not very pleasing to me, although the equalizer section and the presence of an LFO filter sound promising. P.S: Speaking of the LFO, I especially liked that sound. Thank you for this video, Stefan! Thank you for what you do!
Thank you so much for the kind words about my playing. It goes straight to heart ❤ In regards to the pitch-verb/shimmer effects, then you can sculpt them to your heart's content if that's what you want. You have multiple Filter and Dynamic options to soften the frequency content of the pitched effects, and you can place the different modules wherever you want in relation to the reverb. So you can place them before the reverb, after, in the feedback loop, on the dry signal or pre-tank. Endless customisation options in this thing :)
This is most definitely a dream machine. Infinite possibilities within it. And thank you so much for the sweet words about the demo. Incredible to hear you think it’s my best one yet. Means a lot ❤️🙏

So now this is THE most powerful reverb, combining the m7 and cxm1978 + 3 algorithms. Copies the same micro tweakability as the LVX. Meris and chase bliss to me personally are the leaders of innovation to push the industry førward. The second the LVX released, I knew I had to see it's cousin. Choosing a reverb pedal has been the most difficult choice for me, and now I can finally be rest assured there's no more competition to worry about. Now combining both meris workstations, with a zoia, gen loss mk2, and a tensor, as a keyboard player, there's almost no other pedals I could possibly ask for. Reverb was the final piece of the puzzle. Maybe chase bliss will have another out of this world release as they usually do, but other than a CB Blooper which my akai mpcx primarily takes the role of, this is a serious next generation breakthrough of power and flexibility. The true question is, will another pedal be released in this format?? What category of FX can they shatter the limits of next. Whatever it is, you know when a third X pedal does release, its going to be another forced purchase if you have the money to buy it.
@@meatmeep3462 your instrumental skills are trash and so is your creativity because you're too scared to learn to make your own patches because ooooh super complex and scary.
Oh yeah, this thing sounds phenomenal. I been using the tonex X-SPACE for about the past year and it has amazing reverbs that are very customizable, but i think this thing just has a few more tricks up its sleeve. I dunno if its worth switching or not, im sure this is crazy expensive, but they do a great job. I like ambient reverbs a lot, and the X-SPACE is full of them, but this one sounds even better.... at least online.
Nothing short of amazing. You make great music you should be touring the world. Would love to see you play if you ever come to Los Angeles. Also definitely gonna pick one of these up.🔊✨✨✨
Dang it... of course this thing sounds fucking incredible. I already drool over and envy the LVX everytime I see some that has it. Man... maybe one day I'll get to actually touch one of them. Damn.
Sounds truly great. Really nice to have a stereo trem to use with my vox. Apart from the reverb, the filter is it's other killer feature. Stereo trem is so useful too AC30S1 doesn't have a trem, and no spring either. And it's hard/impossible to really control/sync built-in stereo amp trem. Trem on one side only can sound nice, but it loses some drama/depth. Using with bass, filter with expression pedal is cool too. A system like this controlled by expression and midi can do so much. It's almost a one stop shop, except maybe to add a good clean opto comp and flexible drive/fuzz before it. And those are not the most expensive pedals to have to add. I'll be keeping my UAD Del-verb for it's stereo spring, I prefer it's more realistic spring algo. It's DMM and tape algos are great to have too.
Great video! May I ask where the drum loops in the intro track come from? Would love to get them, just what I’m looking forward r for a track. Thanks !
Thank you very much! I'm using EZdrummer 3 by Toontrack. Can't remember if the grooves I used were from the post-rock or post-metal expansion packs. But I use those two quite a bit.
As an owner and daily user of the M7 and the CXM 1978, I’m feeling conflicted on what I should do. Would you sell either/both of those to primarily use the mercury X? I didn’t get along with my LVX because I just hated the menu diving - ended up selling it. But I’d be open to it a bit more for reverb, as that’s my favorite effect to tinker with.
Since eventide came out with h90 ive been grumbeling about great companies just remixing algos, slicing them out a pedal per algo and everybodys buying. Now meris. Well thanks for invading my warnews flooded yt start page. This seems truly innovative. Just afraid of the price.
Sounds great! But I'm a bit surprised it doesn't include a looper like the lvx has. Do you think they might add it in a future firmware update? There are no markings on the enclosure for a looper either, like the lvx has.
Looping is more inherent to delay effects, since it is basically a very long record buffer. So no, don't think there's any plans to include a looper in MercuryX. The reverb algorithms in this pedal are very complex and detailed and hence very DSP heavy, so would be surprised if there was room for more heavy lifting like a looper. It also carves out different unique selling points for each pedal, because even though they are built on the same platform and have the same UI they are very different in regards to effects and modules.
Does this mercury x have the same effect on you that the mercury 7 did? You said you had the mercury 7 on your board for years right. Is the mercury x on your board now? Thanks Stefan! Love the jams man 👌🏻❤️

Great demo as always! Beautiful sounds. Thanks Meris.
Thank you so much, my friend! Meris created another game changing winner.
Yikes this video is going to cost me a lot! Great job mate, amazing sounds. Not sure there's anybody better to demo massive ambient pedals.
Awwww, man! Thank you so much. Warms my heart immensely ❤️🙏
Dude. Awesome pedal and you wear my Pillars shirt 😅 I absolutely love this band
Pillars are amazing! Awesome you’re into them as well 😎
Nothing short of amazing. You make great music you should be touring the world. Would love to see you play if you ever come to Los Angeles. Also definitely gonna pick one of these up.🔊✨✨✨
Awwww, man! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
DAMN. there went X amount of $. Fantastic. I knew it was coming, didn't think it'd sound this good.
Happy to hear the pedal was a positive surprise to you. It sounds absolutely immense!
Dang it... of course this thing sounds fucking incredible. I already drool over and envy the LVX everytime I see some that has it. Man... maybe one day I'll get to actually touch one of them. Damn.
@user-zv7lm8uk7h Shit... is that true? Not being an ass or whatever. Honest question
just when I think "all I really need is a basic reverb..."
Well done.
This one will give you basic as well as otherworldly customisability. Best of both worlds :)
awesome..thanks for the heads up! great video, as always!
Happy to hear you dig it
Sounds amazing 😊 great playing mate!
Thank you! And yes, this pedal just sounds unreal. So many incredible tones and textures in that blue box of dreams.
Dope Demo brotha!!
Thank you!!
I knew you had one of these early:) since day 1 u inspire me
Awwww, gosh! Thank you so much ❤️
Great video!
Just wow!!❤
Thank you very much!
Wow on all accounts!
Wow indeed. So much epicness in one single box
Killer demo, wonder what preset you used on 9.39
So killer!!
Thanks, buddy! Means a lot ❤
Looks and sounds mega 😍😍😍
Happy to hear you like it. Mega is definitely a very apt description of this magical device
I would love to hear this paired with a synth!!
Sure you can find several synth demos out there. All Meris pedals sound majestic on synths :)
Fuckin pretty awesome! Your playing is KILLING! And great pedal of course)))
Oh boy! Thank you so much!
Ordering one today direct!
Thanks for supporting Meris. They are an amazing group of people 🙌
I would very much appreciate a video where you show and talk through creating some sounds with it too.
That's definitely in the pipeline for the future
Great sounds! Do you often use different guitar tunings for your videos?
This is an awesome pedal. It would be perfect for Ethereal Goth/Wave music. Reminds me a bit of a more ambient The Eden House.
Happy you like it! It would definitely excel at dark ethereal goth textures
I think this pedal was made just for you.
I definitely feel a connection between MercuryX and me ❤
It's amazing
Glad you like it! 😊
Does this mercury x have the same effect on you that the mercury 7 did? You said you had the mercury 7 on your board for years right. Is the mercury x on your board now? Thanks Stefan! Love the jams man 👌🏻❤️
Yes, MercuryX is my reverb of choice and is on my main board. Thank you for the kind words 😊❤️
I loved your review so much I h I bought it but the presets don’t match yours, did you program your own plate and hall on banks 42 and 49 in the demo. Please do another tutorial video on how you get those setup?
