They're meant to appeal to kids. As for Power Rangers vs. Super Sentai, what 90s kids need to realize is that Haim Saban is the Sandy Frank of the nineties/two-thousands. Power Rangers is to Super Sentai what "Battle of the Planets" was to Gatchaman. Us 70s kids got lumbered with 7-Zark-7. 90s kids got stuck with "Saved by the Bell" in spandex and rapping pumpkins.

The instant interest for Shinkenger makes me happy lol And You all Bopping to Kyuranger too~ I used to Love Power Ranger Samurai when I was little, I thought it was so cool and remember I even had a crush on Jayden. But after watching Shinkenger and rewatching Samurai, it feels like a joke. Jayden who? Takeru Shiba the real king 😂😅 And I actually LOVE Kyuranger too. And I Love Lucky, the Red one. At first I thought he may become annoying, but him and his catchphrase grew on me a lot~ Kyuranger has such a "Feels Good" vibe to it and I think the Opening shows it well.

There is a level of audacity needed to somehow take Shinkenger, a series steeped in Japanese culture and somehow make the red ranger a white guy named Jayden Shiba.
The kids who grow up on Power Rangers Samurai are now adults and will love it indefinitely. It’s their Mighty Morphin basically. But me personally, i will continue to roast that Power Rangers Samurai forever haha. And seriously I do apologize to the people who genuinely love PR Samurai. But me I watched Samurai Sentai first which is in my opinion far superior in music/score, acting, story, Japanese and samurai culture representation, quotes, themes, etc. I mean this line was from a Japanese kid’s show. This was said to be blue Shinkenger “A man is not a dog. He can choose who he follows”. Plus we don’t get the BS that is a clearly not Asian blonde, blue eyed “Japanese” Jayden Shiba and Lauren Shiba haha. If there was ever a time to have an Asian red ranger, that was the season.

Gokaiger is the one of the BEST sentai seasons as they used past Sentai and nostalgia effectively. And yes, it was butchered as Saban tried to do the same formula he used with MMPR trying to use the same characters for multiple seasons and think that would work again.
i really like seeing reaction like this, either for opening or transformation video. It's a good way for introducing superhero tokusatsu show to newcomer. My suggestion for next reaction, maybe choose the video with the final opening, maybe it can be considered a spoiler, but i think it''s better to show the full lineup of the team, like the 6th ranger, final mech, etc. And maybe next you guys can react to Kamen Rider opening too
