There's an excellent discussion here on RUclips about the violence in Revelation, it's between Tim Mackie and John Mark Comer.
This was an excellent conversation too. I have been thinking similarly for awhile. Particularly in the idea that John uses the language of the prophets but he's not necessarily saying the same things.

John is parroting what Jesus Christ told him to say.
      .
I think it sounds like the Old Testament prophets because they too had the same source.
      .
      .
My recommendation for reading the Book Of Revelation is when it says; King, never think that they are pagan. Believing that some of these kings are secular or pagan is very prevalent in Christianity. Treat all the kings in the Book of Revelation as saints during the last days. Saints that are either faithful or compromised by Satan.
      .
The Evil and the Faithful stewards of Matthew Chapter 24.
      .
      .
Treat these kings as you would when reading Ezekiel Chapter 43, the fornicating kings:
      .
      Ezekiel 43:7-9
“Son of man, [this is] the place of my throne and the place of the soles of my feet, where I shall reside in the midst of the sons of Israel to time indefinite; and no more will they, the house of Israel, defile my holy name, they and ** THEIR KINGS ** by their fornication and by the carcasses of ** THEIR KINGS ** at their death, 8 by their putting their threshold with my threshold and their doorpost beside my doorpost, with the wall between me and them. And they defiled my holy name by their detestable things that they did, so that I went exterminating them in my anger. 9 Now let them remove their fornication and the carcasses of ** THEIR KINGS ** far from me, and I shall certainly reside in the midst of them to time indefinite.
      .
      .
It is my conviction that these compromised saints are the same REPULSIVE men mentioned at the end of the Book of Isaiah:
      .
      Isaiah 66:24
“And they will actually go forth and look upon the carcasses of the men that were transgressing against me; for the very worms upon them will not die and their fire itself will not be extinguished, and they must become something ** REPULSIVE ** to all flesh.”
      .
      .
So the conflict or battle is between prominent Christian BROTHERS, the Saints or Kings of the earth.
      .
      .
      Revelation 17:12-14
“And the ten horns that you saw mean ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they do receive authority as kings one hour with the wild beast. 13 These have one thought, and so they give their power and authority to the wild beast. 14 These will battle with the Lamb, but, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lamb will conquer them. Also, those called and chosen and faithful with him [will do so].”
      .
      .
Now read the Book of Revelation again having purged the prevalent idea that any of these kings are secular.
      .
      .
Also convince yourself that the beasts mentioned and Babylon The Great are also not secular!
      .

Loved your conversation so much I plan to listen again. I think about Don Carson’s definition of the wrath of God in his book The Difficult Doctrine of the Love of God, “Wrath is a function of God’s holiness “. We all want justice but in our sinful state, can’t discern what justice really is. But God.

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
PRETERISTS, HISTORISTS take away from the words of the book of prophecy.

The question is, are the 70% of Evangelicals who are magabots really saved? Or are they part of the 'Many' Jesus said He never knew, in Matt. 7:21-23.

@@Sunshine-cl7knTry to go back to the text with fresh eyes and pretend you don't know about any of the things you mentioned. In addition to Revelation, read Luke 29:41-44, Luke 21:5/Matthew 24, and finally, Romans 9-11. When I left behind the baggage of systems i had learned and read the text for what it said, I came to different conclusions.

Scott has no clue what the Revelation of Christ is about, it is as if he has not received the Holy Spirit and cannot discern the most blessed book in God's Word.

Markis2002 l do think unfortunately there are some saved Christians who miss His Wisdom and Power that the Holy Spirit puts in our spirit self. I don’t think they are clueless…but perhaps they are missing the Importance of Lord Jesus giving Spiritual understanding to John so he would them reveal through his words the understanding our Father wanted us to know/have…before His return.✝️

Thank you. Scot makes the claim in another interview concerning Revelation, "That its predicting something 2000 years down the road, that's not possible."
Ironically having the appearance of godliness but denying its power.
I am very concerned for people listening to this guy. We don't get to handle prophecy the way we would handle man's imagination.
I also want to add that Scot got this idea of Revelation from studying the apocrypha and decided to handle Gods Word the same way. It's not at all Biblical. Your concern about his relationship with the Lord is well asked.
