Everyone was hating on Turing but in reality it offered a lot. DLSS, RT, full DX12 and Vulkan support, now it shows. 2070 went from around 30% faster than 1070 at launch to sometimes over two times faster now... Pascal is pretty much dead. Only 1080 still handles 1080p60fps because of raw power and 1080Ti still sometimes does 1440p60fps.
People were hating on it because it was the first time they upped the 70 class from 379 dollars with the 1070 to 550-600 dollars with the 2070. while RT and DLSS were marketing points from nvidia but there were no RT games and DLSS 1.0 sucked.
It sucks compared to the 3070, which scores way better in all these games than a 2070, and the 2070 also struggles in most of these games to average 60fps.

The gap on the GPU always looks smaller at lower resolutions; let's see what happens at 1440p and 4K. On 4K, the extra Vram must make a huge difference.
Nah, it's the DX12 what's causing the huge performance dip. Pascal sucks at DX12 titles, also no point on increasing the resolution since both the 1070 and 2070 were 8 GB cards.
@@laszlozsurka8991 That always happens; the more demanding the game and the higher the resolution, the bigger the gap to the old cards; if there is not enough VRAM, it is even worse.
I like the direction it is going. We get faster cards with less power consumption. Just the price is garbage and nvidia must increase the vram on those cards. I am team amd and very happy with my 6800xt. The 7800xt is very nice but the power consumption could be better
I have a Zotac RTX 3070 with a 600w 80+ gold source, it doesn't give me problems, but the consumption does not exceed 220w, and in the video I see that the 3070 consumes more than 230w, it means that I have some problem with my source and my graphics card?
Although the 4070 is very impressive, as the average gains feom one gen to the next ate roughly equivalent in terms of pure fps, you can tell the reduced memory bus hurts the 1% lows. Thr gap between the average and 1% average on the 3070 is a lot smaller than the 4070. The 4070 still wins sure, but you can tell it's a little handicapped in that regard
Upgrading from a 1070 w i7 6700k to 4070 w i7 13700k after 7 years. About damn time the fps is getting really shit in new games if you dont want it to look shit

Visually, alone. I don't see any difference between the 1070 and the RTX 4070. Sure there's a big performance gain, but visually they look the same! Where's all the ray tracing these cards are supposed to deliver?
I don't see the RTX 4070 as a mistake, NVidia just took different measures, as the card is better than its predecessor in some cases and the energy efficiency is much better too
But sadly you need to play at 1080p 3070 is 1440p card And can do it very good if the vram is enough But the upcoming new generation games is vram hungry sadly Less 1440p vram recommendation is 12gb in the new upcoming AAA ue5 games
Ein Test wäre auch gut mit der RTX 2070 Super. Laut Computerbase ist die RTX 2070 Super ca. 10% schneller wie eine RTX 3060 12GB und kommt ist damit nur ca. 5% langsamer wie eine RTX 4060.
So you need a 3070 bear minimum for Remnant 2 to play 60fps 1080p...not 2k or 4k, 1080p and need 3070...some of these developers don't know anything about optimization but sure know how to release it quick to grab the money.
70 series cards are midrange. 1080p resolution & ray tracing off is making these cards look better than they actually are. Show 1440p & actual max settings w / RT on(except 1070) to show how they really work for most gamers at this price point of gpu
So 2070 was 2x better than its predecessor and then nvidia needed 2 generations to achieve such leap and now we'll see barely any gains with the new rtx's. They are getting lazy.
@NGreedia I myself have the 4070, great card but the vram😭😭. Even tho im getting high fps i have to turn some settings down in some games bc of the studdering.

I went from a 1070 to a 3080. I think it should be a huge bump but it wasn't. Went from 8VRAM to 10VRAM. I feel it's just a little more power to ger more fps.
1070 130W consumption and 5% CPU load, so excellent for X demanding applications and gaming at the moment and 4070 190.7W consumption and up to 20% CPU load, so it doesn't seem so good to me!!!
damn, I didnt realize every 70 class generation had a big jump in wattage until the 4070 actually managed to not only reduce wattage but also increase fps by roughly the same amount and offer more vram and dlss 3. truly the best bang for your buck from the entire ada series.
8gb cards handle avatar frontiers of pandora pretty well that requires 11gb vram. its usually the fault of the game or game engine if vram overflow leads to big problems rather than small ones
Lmfao what??? Instead of parroting crap you read on the internet maybe use like 5 brain cells and witness the fact that the 2070 DOUBLES the framerate of the 1070 in multiple games. No other gpu in this video does that. It's the largest percentage increase of any Gen 😂 use. Your. Brain.

Only 1080 still handles 1080p60fps because of raw power and 1080Ti still sometimes does 1440p60fps.
They hated Turing for good reasons. At the time it offered little improvement in performance while costing significantly more. Also DLSS 1.0 sucked.
People were hating on it because it was the first time they upped the 70 class from 379 dollars with the 1070 to 550-600 dollars with the 2070. while RT and DLSS were marketing points from nvidia but there were no RT games and DLSS 1.0 sucked.
550-600$ was only at release lol, i bought my RTX 2070 like half a year after it was released for 439$@@bb5307
@@EarthIsFlat456 at the time most games still used DX11 only. Now on DX12/Vulkan with full support 2070 is almost twice as fast
@@patent5421 So what exactly are you trying to say? That people were wrong?
The 2070 is serving me well. I can get 60FPS at medium-high at 2k res in most most games. Some with the help of DLSS.
It sucks compared to the 3070, which scores way better in all these games than a 2070, and the 2070 also struggles in most of these games to average 60fps.
@@Jake-mn1qc droga é um exagero, tenho uma 2070 Super, funciona bem, me incomoda que esquenta muito
Pascal to Turing = 90-100%
Turing to Ampere = 40-50%
Ampere to Ada = 15-20%
The 1070 is a lot further behind the 2070 compared to launch day reviews of the 2070.
newer games are more demanding. The release of ps5/xboxsx increased the requirements for games released afterwards.
GTX 1070 is king imahine still holding strong. I still use that old bad boy paired with another bay boy i7-2600k. Is not 4k gaming but is satisfying me enough
Suggest me best motherboard i7 3770
Still holding strong when it struggles to hit 30 fps at 1080p.. sure..
The 1080ti oc would out perform the 2070 and the 2070 super i believe but the 2080ti oc would kick its ass by 15-30fps more infact its as powerful as the 3070 sometimes 5fps higher sometimes 5fps lower its incredible tbh just expensive still can get the od 2080ti oc build for 1100 or a 1080ti oc build for 900
I'd be fine with the 4070 for the next 7 years. Should still be a solid 60fps 1080p card by then.😎
Agreed, i also upgraded to 4070 from 1060 3GB and it's a huge difference
I have a 1070 and he must be playing on a very non optimized pc for gaming because I have a i5-8600k and his cpu is 4x better then mine and my 1070 I ran red dead at 140 fps, Fortnite on max settings 100-130 , rust 160-180. My gpu over clicks to 150 core / 160 mem clock. With no tearing/artifacts. High performance power plan, core parking disabled, fully optimized for gaming
People will get a 2070/3070 and run the same fps I’m running but just get the pc out the box and play and wander why. No pc is optimized for gaming out the box besides windows game play which is a joke.
still have my 2070 super maybe when gta 6 comes out ill think about upgrading but for now its still a good choice
So these will be even higher in any ryzen powered system, nice.
This video was a slap in the 1070's backplate. Lower a couple settings and get 100 fps. Simple. No need to Spend $600+ on a 4k series gpu. The 1070 is a legend and still kicks ass in 2024. The 1070 is a super bargain right now. Tons listed for sub $80 2nd hand. Get one!!
this video is fake, when did the 1070 consume less then 150watts. You will find alot of those fake benchmarks of him.
70ti/70super are always the Best Buy , I had a 1070ti and now 4070 super. If the prices were normal I had a 4080 now , Ngreedia.
I can barely tell the difference between any.. they all look great!
I overclocked my RTX 2070 to 2000+mhz GPU and 16200 memory. +12-15% perfomance. Very good card after 5 years
+50W between 2070 and 3070.
Ampere is really not easy to cool starting with 3080 (Ti) - Undervolting is your friend :)
@@Livebasura69 same here ;)
The jump from 3070 to 4070 is really bad. And overall a 4070 isn't even twice as fast as my 2070 which by now is 5 years old...
Yup gonna wait for rtx 5000
What's your osd please?
The gap on the GPU always looks smaller at lower resolutions; let's see what happens at 1440p and 4K. On 4K, the extra Vram must make a huge difference.
Nah, it's the DX12 what's causing the huge performance dip. Pascal sucks at DX12 titles, also no point on increasing the resolution since both the 1070 and 2070 were 8 GB cards.
@@laszlozsurka8991 That always happens; the more demanding the game and the higher the resolution, the bigger the gap to the old cards; if there is not enough VRAM, it is even worse.
I would not buy a 4070 to play on 1080p, so testing on 1440p and even 4K is more realistic.
I like the direction it is going. We get faster cards with less power consumption. Just the price is garbage and nvidia must increase the vram on those cards. I am team amd and very happy with my 6800xt. The 7800xt is very nice but the power consumption could be better
Thanks for these tests, coming from a GTX 1060 the only decision I need to make is get a 4060ti or 4070.........
4070 easily
what kind of monitoring program is this ?
Nvidia only seems to care about the 70 class and up cause the 60 class cards got -5% to 10% boost over previous generation lmao
i have h410m + i3-10100f + gtx 1070.
i'll be upgrading to b560 + 11400f so what gpu should i get, 2070 or 3070?
monitor : 22" 1080p 60hz ips.
People complain about the lack of raw power of the 40 series but the evolution has been literally 20/30 frames every generation
Most games I play still use dx11, lol.
I will say goodbye to my MSI 1070 when it dies.
I have a Zotac RTX 3070 with a 600w 80+ gold source, it doesn't give me problems, but the consumption does not exceed 220w, and in the video I see that the 3070 consumes more than 230w, it means that I have some problem with my source and my graphics card?
what is this software to show all those stat all the same time?
Although the 4070 is very impressive, as the average gains feom one gen to the next ate roughly equivalent in terms of pure fps, you can tell the reduced memory bus hurts the 1% lows. Thr gap between the average and 1% average on the 3070 is a lot smaller than the 4070.
The 4070 still wins sure, but you can tell it's a little handicapped in that regard
Not really since the bus of the 3080 gets similar 1% lows
This is what and generational upgrade should look like.60 series seems to forget that
Upgrading from a 1070 w i7 6700k to 4070 w i7 13700k after 7 years. About damn time the fps is getting really shit in new games if you dont want it to look shit
its worth it the upgrade for the 1070 vs 4070 in terms of price? I dont know if buy a new 4070 or used 3080ti (cheaper than 4070) but in that case I need to buy a new PSU and the price its almost equal
Well, i was upgrading almost my entire PC, from i7 6700k to i7 13700k new motherboard new ram, and ofc the 4070. it's running on a corsair 650x PSU@@freddyespinoza5115
My man, keeping RDR2 in the test suite. TY! 🤠
The 3070 should have had 10GB and the 3080 12GB from the start.
Visually, alone. I don't see any difference between the 1070 and the RTX 4070. Sure there's a big performance gain, but visually they look the same! Where's all the ray tracing these cards are supposed to deliver?
You can still play comfortably at fhd on gtx 1070

I don't see the RTX 4070 as a mistake, NVidia just took different measures, as the card is better than its predecessor in some cases and the energy efficiency is much better too
3070 can be found for less than 300 on second hand, and it will keep you gaming for a solid nother 3 years
But sadly you need to play at 1080p
3070 is 1440p card And can do it very good if the vram is enough
But the upcoming new generation games is vram hungry sadly
Less 1440p vram recommendation is 12gb in the new upcoming AAA ue5 games
Wondering why we didn't get the GTX 1670 😅😅

Damn nvidia is giving smaller improvements per generation as time goes on.
only the problem with pricing not with the performane n fps 😢
All the 70 cards minus the 900 and earlier series!!!
So you need a 3070 bear minimum for Remnant 2 to play 60fps 1080p...not 2k or 4k, 1080p and need 3070...some of these developers don't know anything about optimization but sure know how to release it quick to grab the money.
gtx evga 1070 8gb sama gtx 1660s manli mending mana bang
Dudeeeeee , GTX 1070 is stilll alive !
Gtx 1070 is still able to get 1080 60 fps if you use low - medium settings.
1080p gaming.. Year 2023.. Unduckingbelievable..
