I really LOVED this couple. Here’s my interpretation of this couple. They really liked each other and the roadblock was their social status and goals for the future. Danah needs to take care of her business and he needs to graduate and follow his dreams. And while he was gonna move on, he couldn’t. As they aren’t awkward or anything in the end, it should mean that their feelings are mutual. Yet it need not imply that they’re in a relationship. They could be in an unlabelled situation where the feelings are clearly not platonic. They have high possibility of turning into an official relationship in the future, but right now they’re just living in the moment where their priority is probably achieving other life goals.
To the people who wants a fix love story, I do not think that is the aim of Run On. It is more like their relationship helping them to be a better version of themselves rather than being better for the sake of relationship.
Run on is definitely a underrated drama! Each character grew throughout the series in their own way. I liked the chemistry between the main couple a little more, but I think this couple held their own special story!
Usually, I don't watch Shin Se Kyung's drama. For some reason, I find it hard to connect with her. BUT I felt this drama made me like her a bit as an actor. And, this is a slow burn one but it didn't stop me from completing the drama. I like the story and the characters.

He told the scene at the gallery answer it all when Dan-ah ask YeongHwa to celebrate her REAL birthday so they might starting over. I really like this couple and its unfortunate they have an open ending. Hope JTBC consider for a season 2 and more DanHwa scenes.

As for her illness, it seems that it was a genetically inherited heart condition. Dan-ah, also mentioned that her disease, "could hardly kill her". I read in some reviews (i forgot where and what disease is called) that its not the kind of disease that is very fatal and could kill her instantly. But people with this kind of heart disease should refrain from extreme physical and mental activities which could cause stress, avoid alcohol and lack of sleep. Which is basically, Dan-ah's lifestyle, so every now and then she experience symptoms.

I'm really hooked at this drama until the end because of the second leads. Jeez I was really looking forward that they would end up having a relationship.
Dan Ah was an unforgettable character for me. She felt so real and relatable. Her trait of wearing sneakers so that she could be prepared at any time. Her obsession with time and efficiency that would make her angry if she felt like someone was wasting her time. Her life that was driven by her race against and fear of time to make something of herself. Her way of showing love was to "give up" her precious time. So good. Also, she was just fun to watch. Her raw honesty was so refreshing and her beating up her "older" brother was just the cherry on top.
Run On was such a light and heartwarming drama and these two made it more special. Their story was special even if it wasn't told in every detail. For me, their story ended well, it wasn't rushed at all. They don't need a clear 'i love you' or 'let's be together' to show how they ended. From the start they weren't that sweet and lovely couple instead they were always casual in terms of expressing their feelings. That scene in the gallery, it was actually a perfect comeback scene for the two. To some it might feel blurry but to those who understood this couple deeply, it was a scene that showed the uniqueness of their relationship and how their love was completed 💖
spoiler warning! To everyone confuse at the ending, it's an open ending so it's up to you on how you wanted danhwa to end. (as the script didn't completely showed us what they could have been) though at the end we get to see every character to get their happy endings. (dana gets what she wants and finally accepting his brother). I think that's what brought the different emotional turmoil the last ep gave us. It's a ride of emotion and that's what made me love this ship.
This was the best portrayal of a dreamy first love, it was unexpected and out of the blue, however it was the best of what it could be, both of different dynamics and different backgrounds, one with a puppy personality another with a tigress aura, it was as if they are so imperfectly perfect for each other, the holes that Dan ah had blocked were now being investigated and looked into by him, he saw in her something that everything and everyone else failed to see, a human being, she had built walls out of which he a built a home, though the ending is an open one, we can all come to a conclusion that, happy endings don't necessarily mean two people ending up together, it simply means an ending where we're all happy, they are both happy, and say it did not happen this time, it was very sure of in that last scene that they'd end up together somewhere far off, when yeonghwa had graduated, gone away, secured a job, became a known artists and Dan ah had conquered the business world, and just the way the pen met that paint brush, unexpectedly, fate would bring them together too, because falling in love is never too late.
I loved the development of this couple...his tender heart and smile was perfect to melt ❤ hers...his quirky side,his serious mature side,owning his painting...and allowing her in his artistic space....beautiful...I enjoyed 2nd couple more..they moments together were exciting short bits of delight..even their OST..thanks for sharing

It’s so impressive when Young Hwa brings the painting to Dan Ah’s office as farewell, Dan Ah’s armour finally all shattered and she shows her true, vulnerable self to him, no longer dominant over him. It’s heartbreaking when Young Hwa lets go of his “first love” and Dan Ah breaks into tears and sobs. Sooyoung and Tae Oh act so well in this scene.
Am I the only one who likes the ending of their love story? Through them, I realized what is true, we all have different approaches in a relationship. That's theirs, that's what makes them unique, that's what makes their love pure and real.
Honestly speaking, I've watched the drama a couple of times already and their characters made me interested about the show. I'm really not into the main lead but for Seo Dan-Ah and Yeong Hwa's story. I just hope there'll be a sequence where the main focus is Seo Dan-Ah and Yeong Hwa besides, the chemistry of actors - Sooyoung and Kang Tae Oh is really good. The connection and emotion is there, they're good actors I must say.
I truly love how Ms Seo was able to search deeply where her heart is,after finding it. She had to express her emotions without any hesitation not even caring what the world thinks,their love story is the best
I know many people had mixed feelings about this drama but as for me, I loved it. I felt the story line was more realistic than others especially the love between the main leads and this couple. Everything felt so natural and it was super realistic. The ending too was an amazing open but very clear ending as well. This couple was one of my favorites because of how much they loved/liked each other. This drama was also something that focuses on self love/self improvement which isn't something you see in a lot of k-dramas. All characters had their own story and were able to rely on themselves too. Really loved this drama!!!!!!!!!

I’m in the same boat as you 😩 Interesting enough I started the show because of the main lead guy (Siwan). I’ve seen him in another drama and was super impressed with his raw emotions and superb acting prowess! But I ended up staying with this series because of Sooyoung and then the arch of this couple just kept pulling me in! Their character development, chemistry, and acting was just off the charts! In my honest opinion they did the heavy lifting with this drama!

They are both so different yet the same. Both honest in their feelings. So I like this kind of character. When one is harder to understand the other one gently try to comprehend the feeling. Super love this couple. So different yet so perfect for each other

Whoever wrote the story of this couple should be given an Oscar, Seo Dan Ah’s personality is so pointed to reality and hard to understand but hiding a huge love inside, no words to explain how incredible she is
It’s so impressive when Young Hwa brings the painting to Dan Ah’s office as farewell, Dan Ah’s armour finally all shattered and she shows her true, vulnerable self to him, no longer dominant over him. It’s heartbreaking when Young Hwa lets go of his “first love” and Dan Ah breaks into tears and sobs. Sooyoung and Tae Oh act so well in this scene.
Am I the only one who likes the ending of their love story? Through them, I realized what is true, we all have different approaches in a relationship. That's theirs, that's what makes them unique, that's what makes their love pure and real.

Honestly speaking, I've watched the drama a couple of times already and their characters made me interested about the show. I'm really not into the main lead but for Seo Dan-Ah and Yeong Hwa's story. I just hope there'll be a sequence where the main focus is Seo Dan-Ah and Yeong Hwa besides, the chemistry of actors - Sooyoung and Kang Tae Oh is really good. The connection and emotion is there, they're good actors I must say.

I know many people had mixed feelings about this drama but as for me, I loved it. I felt the story line was more realistic than others especially the love between the main leads and this couple. Everything felt so natural and it was super realistic. The ending too was an amazing open but very clear ending as well. This couple was one of my favorites because of how much they loved/liked each other. This drama was also something that focuses on self love/self improvement which isn't something you see in a lot of k-dramas. All characters had their own story and were able to rely on themselves too. Really loved this drama!!!!!!!!!

Obsessed at the way he looks at her at any distance. They way his eyes go soft when he's in love and pain is too mesmerizing. I've never felt this strong emotional attraction to a male fictional character before. It's like he's too transparent I could see myself as this woman he loves so much. His smile is beautiful as well as his tears. Idk if i'm too invested to this couple or the actors themselves are just excellent portraying thier characters.
I loved and fell in love with Seo Dan Ah, I imagined that in the end Lee Young Hwa was going to paint her looking at her artwork when she saw her that night when passing by the coffe store. She was everything to him, because she was her work of art.

I’m in the same boat as you 😩 Interesting enough I started the show because of the main lead guy (Siwan). I’ve seen him in another drama and was super impressed with his raw emotions and superb acting prowess! But I ended up staying with this series because of Sooyoung and then the arch of this couple just kept pulling me in! Their character development, chemistry, and acting was just off the charts! In my honest opinion they did the heavy lifting with this drama!

@@SamSum2023 Watch it! Sooyoung was phenomenal & the journey & chemistry of Danhwa couple is 🔥🔥🔥 It was really more of an open ended type of ending though. I was okay with it as well but would had preferred a much confirmed ending. Here’s hoping for a season 2 😩

1st male lead began decently great but went absolutely nowhere but 2nd male lead and his love story was eons ahead and for the first time I enjoyed and preferred it over the main lead own, especially the ending wow full of emotions.

I just finished watching the drama and am already missing them, I loved both the couples equally in the drama but I was more invested in this couple while watching the other one calmly, because these two character together made beautiful couple while nothing was same between them and situations were not looking very favorable and I couldn't tell if they will end up together or not , and I was eager to see what happens, when they broke up in the finale it broke my heart but ending was not really bad because it seemed like they will be together because they both never stopped loving each other ❥
