it's cool Layne actually got to sing a bit in this one along with the awesome beat boxing.
His voice was way more sweeter than I thought it was
But imagine him furious, you are sure he will scream, but no... Geniuses lower your voices, keep out of trouble
I love Layne’s voice SOOOO much, I wish he got more vocal parts
He sings in some videos... The Heart of Life is my favorite with him singing though... and My Shot is directly after that... his line in this one is clever and cool.
I think he’s operating on the idea that the less often he sings, that when he actually does sing, he gets to surprise us over and over again, unlike Geoff... we already know how good he is, but the fact that he can cause mini earthquakes is his “shock and awe ability”.
And no I’m not trying to insult anyone, I would never insult anybody in VP, past present or future.
Layne deserves more Solos , he has such a lovely Voice .
I love his voice.

It's so funny to rewatch this and read all the comments of the time freak out over how low Geoff went in this video, because compared to the newer stuff he is barely going low at all 😂

As a Hamilton fan, Geoff’s solo was to DIE FOR!!! It was so brilliantly executed. Loved the irony of singing “Rise Up” with going lower every time. Loved the arrangement. Would have been nice to keep the same rhythm as the original, as that might have brought power and emotion in some places. But this was still very well arranged. Loved it♥️

I like Layne’s solo bit, I wish he would sing more
Eh... that’s cool. Layne was better... first time I listened, his little marching beat was cool (still is), but I didn’t expect him to do anything other then beatbox... when he stopped the beat... I was like “what’s going on?” Then... holy heck! The angel (Layne) actually gets a line, and it’s really clever! So my jaw was on the floor for awhile after that... why doesn’t he get more lines in any video? Man’s a baritone... his voice is amazing, yes his beatboxing is impressive... but I wanna hear his voice more.
Seeing Geoff with short hair in old videos is like seeing Keanu Reeves with short hair in Matrix.

i've watched Voiceplay from their early stuff to their newer stuff, and whilst everyone raves about Geoff, I honestly don't think they'd be as solid as they are without Eli. Man carries the songs most of the time, even if he isn't the lead.
I think I'd agree with that, actually. I've been noticing a lot lately how incredible his voice is, just the amount of sheer talent he has. And now that you mention it, he really does seem to do a good deal in these songs.
In a way, that's a very good thing. With two members having left the group, it's just Eli, Layne and Geoff. But I think that's enough to keep VoicePlay going strong. Sure, collabs, and hopefully new members at some point, and the members who have left are sorely missed. But until new members are brought in, I think these three can carry it, they're that strong. And Eli is a vital part of that.

I've been following Voiceplay 3 years. This is the first time seeing this. Everything is there...creativity, beautiful voices, and a story to tell. Currently, they are exploding with confidence, range, risk taking, and use of technology. It has been amazing and fun to see this group grow!

I have to say that I love this song From my favorite musical called Hamilton. VoicePlay you guys have done an amazing job with this song. I have seen Hamilton the musical with my parents in Philadelphia. You guys always are in insync with each other. I love you guys.

well its different for sure. im not sure how to feel about it, I adore you voice play, but I also love Hamilton. when I first heard the Hamilton album, the first thought that popped into my mind was "voiceplay should cover one of these songs" because you guys introduced me to broadway and all of the wonderfulness with the Aca top 10 Broadway video. however, I felt disappointed with this cover. Eli's voice was a tad to high for Lin's part and Earl's Lafayette part was not the route I would have taken. HOWEVER, I loved the fact that Eli sang with emotion and he acted it out with the guys. there are a lot of people on youtube that sing Hamilton songs well but they dont have any emotion to them. they just sing and you can tell they are just trying to not mess up on the words, but you guys had the lyrics down. Geoff's solo was amazing and went nicely with the arrangement. Layne's solo as well, and I get that he's the beatboxer and you need him for that, but with the solo he was given his voice was really good and I believe his voice was right for Lin's part and it would have added a lot to the song if he had the lead part. Tony is getting lost again, and its a shame because he has such a versatile powerful voice. I hope you dont take offense to this comment, but I love you guys and I have been supprting you since the Sing Off.

honestly watching Voiceplay has inspired me. I in fact am in a high school acapella group made of my friends the 5 of us love singing to your songs. I am our bass and singing to Geoffs super low bass it has helped me range lower than ever. for a high schooler I am the lowest in my school. almost capable to hit a G (the low G) Geoff honestly has helped my vocals. KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK GUYS!
All I gotta say is wow, all of your voices are so talented. Eli, your voice is so great, I wish I could sing high like you. Earl, wow, like is there even a word to describe your voice, freak of nature I believe so, your voice is so appealing to the ear. Layne, besides your great beatboxing, even your voice is very authentic and I really love your singing voice. Tony, we all love and miss him, and wish he's doing well on his new career. And then I saved the best for last, Geoff Castelucci my man! You're voice is honestly a blessing sent down from God. Those high notes and those very low low notes, your range is insane. When I first discovered you guys you instantly became my favorite group, and it has still stayed that way. Please, never stop and keep up the good work, love all of you guys!
