One of the best shows i've seen from the legion in a long time. And oh my lawd the cherin' were a dancin' and a playin' and the sound was consistent. GOOD JOB LEGION! BEHOLD!
We need to get off our fannies and support these universities!!! The football programs could recruit better talent so we could see them on tv in college sports and also get more funds for our band programs. These are our young people in college and omgoodness they need to see the stands full! All that hard work should be showcased by more than 50 people in the stands. I love my HBCU SCHOOLS!!
Super show Spartan Legion. I have been observing your performances this year and the progress is stratospheric! Keep up the good work student entertainers. From an old school A&T Aggie.
From an Aggie this was a nice creative show. Legion is an underrated band on the come up. I say this all the time there are so many similarities between the legion & bgmm. However I’m not hating at all but Hot Ice would be so much better if they came up with their own style… Like they imitating Golden Delights. Otherwise this show was actually pretty good. Aggie Pride!!!
1:00 Wow! Breathtaking. The wall of sound is so strong and beautiful. So fun to watch and listen to. It had a perfect mix of happy, sad, funky and silly. All the things Prince was to us. Everything but the side-eye. 4:03 she dropped it/ and 6:356:51 was a struggle to hold those poses....I've been watching too much Dancing Dolls .....but they recovered and kept going. Like pro's do! 7:45 Really created a mood for PurpleRain. The flag girls are on point, making it look effortless and easy. But I know better. 11:04 Both drum majors are perfectly centered on the 40yrd lines while on the ladders.....But the one on the right at 11:14 forgets to use his/her visual markers from that point on, making an obvious error that you just can't unsee when you are up in the stands. Both were surely practiced and knew to aim for the 40 line to be perfectly centered. But you get nervous out there. It happens. This just goes to show how important it is to start off in the correct position. I do wonder why he/she didn't self-correct by 11:23 so that both would be centered on the 45. You take larger steps to adjust for such errors. By 12:35 it is all back on track! And total redemption at 13:00. Same thing for the twirler at 4:55. For visual appeal, you gotta keep it centered on the 50. Difficult to do while busy twirling but still, it's imp to end on the 50. Because that is the last thing the audience remembers of your performance......the place you end. This performance ....esp at 9:50....was so inspiring.....It reminds me of the one time we all got to see Prince perform w a marching band, his SuperBowl half time show. I bet it was really beautiful when your band performed this at night under the stars. Prince must surely have been smiling down from heaven when y'all performed! Thank you for sharing this. It will be such a helpful tool for lots of young people who are learning the art of marching band. Learning choreography isn't easy. But being able to video it and then getting to go back to watch and see where you excel or mess up really is an invaluable tool. When I was in mb all we had to go on was whenever our instructor yelled at us. No video to review. Haha I got yelled at VERY often.
From an Aristocrat from Tennessee State, AWESOME JOB NORFOLK......You guys have always been a top favorite of mine......INCREDIBLE BALANCED SOUND.....
