Nazuna's half vampire traits meant nothing in the end. My head cannon was that after some years they meet up and decide to hook up again. Passion and stuff she drinks his blood, she would simply revery to her human age (30ish) and whether they hook up or whatever would be properly defined. Not that half assed mid way ending. Concluded without a conclusion. Like the author just got bored and said fk it
Detective girl when she initially attacked tried to setup something about the trap's(forgot his name) past. That whole sub plot dropped. Felt like so many things were just....dropped

Only problem i have with this ending it that i feel like the series couldve done a lot more a really hope we get a spin off about the detective tho i will miss this artwork alot
I'm fine with this ending. It leaves a lot of hole in other aspects and characters of the story but all in all I'll take this ending. Every other one felt like it was going to suck way more.
I'm confused. It's established pretty early that the vampires themselves don't really know how vampires work, so any rule they've come up is just guess work anyway?
So a recluse people not knowing what will happen when they get with other’s ( that sounded better in my head) and they know they can alter the very physiology of others being scared is an ass pull?

@@prateeknika2632everything you said is true and valid but, no offense, what does this have to do with susuki? I didn't have a problem with the ending for ko and nazuna but there were unanswered questions related to the whole story/plot and about other vamps outside of Japan, and since susuki has been traveling the world, we could find out more about those mysteries like how other hostile vamps interact, how vamps first came to exist, what if major historical or political figures are vamps, etc. We even got to see a sneak peak at one of susuki's adventures when we heard from anko/kyouko so if we had a spin-off with susuki before or after the events of call of the night, I feel like it could help refine the plot of the series a little bit more.

@@Nick-wi3kd true, sad to see that the author didn't fully explore what could've been "the way out" for him to create a "happy ending",so now the most interesting part of nazuna as a vampire stays in the story as a plot hole
Sounds to me like the most plausible explanation, I think he fell in love with her not directly at the start but somewhere in between, and Nazuna is just straight up unable to have functional off-spring, they'd all be half-vampires
This is a good guess, it puts my mind at ease because the ending put a bit of stress on me, and this kind of explanation would make me feel better Maybe Nazuna really did turn Kou into a vampire when he turned half, its just that she can't fully turn him into one because shes the offspring of a vampire and a human I mean vampires could still get pregnant though, so maybe Kou can leave a kid behind as a testament of his existence
Tbf, they could have worked around that since the years would all come at once but Nazuna was a half human. Could have just said she aged to like 20 or something tops.
@@binaryboopsva or they could have said that it doesn't affect her because she was born a vampire and therefore she doesn't have that weakness. So, a few weeks ago I watched the anime, then when I finished I decided to check out the Manga, which I learned had just ended. I gunned through all 200 chapters in a few days and I've gotta say, it was an ending of all time. When people say "It doesn't need to be some crazy plot twist. It just needs to land on both feet and not implode." this is the purest distillation of that philosophy. There's not too much to comment on other than the fact there's no more chapters.
Honestly, I'd have preferred an implosion. If you're going to subvert a genre convention and avoid a specifically happy or sad ending, you need to actually construct a coherent theme and what we get is just... running out the clock for 20 chapters. It just feels like a total waste of the good buried in this absolute mess of a manga.

Personally found the ending thematically appropriate for the story. Ever since chapter one this story has been about the mellowness, somberness, and solitude of the night. It comes and goes, and when it comes so to does a sort of comfort but slight thrill for what the night may hold (whether it be a bunch of drunk dudes or an empty swing set) and Nazuna basically represented the night. She came and left at a pretty major point in Kous life, she brought him thrill, comfort, and a feeling of mellowness and familiarity and even solitude with just the two, with no group of friends or school to worry about. This didn't feel like an "ending" of sort but a start of another night or adventure with the two that ended 2-3 years ago. Sure the ending wasn't as bombastic as I expected, considering the build up of action from Kiku's arc, but calling it mid, or even bad would be a disservice it's perfect for a story like this. Two friends hangin out, but now they realize they're more than just friends.
@@Nick-wi3kd yeah that's the point, it's in my comment. It didn't feel like an ending to begin with but the start of a new adventure between the two. Its just another "night" for them.
I really liked a theory I read which was basically Kou's half vamp transformation IS his full transformation as Nazuna is only technically half vamp herself. Its also the only case any of the characters have heard of "half" vamps making both of them anomalies. This would also mean that the 1 year rule would have been absolved as he already "turned", and for whatever reason his blood was still good enough to drink (He was already half vamp and having his blood sucked which Im assuming vamps cant drink vamp blood). It also makes any potential death via succ even less likely imo due to it being between two people who are already vamps (and half at that). I feel like the death aspect is heavily rooted to only pure humans as a form of literally regaining your humanity via a fleeting love. The fact Kou still can use his half-vamp powers a year+ after gaining them. It may well mean that he did, in fact, get turned. Only, his change matched Nazuna's nature, so where a normal vampire would make another vampire, Nazuna being a special case caused Kou to get stuck in a 'middle' state as well. tl; dr: Kou did, in fact, basically become a vampire from Nazuna's bites, but because of her unique birth, he's not a 'normal' vampire.
Also my personal theory is that he was in fact in love with nazuna when he became half vampire , and is the fact that nazuna is born from a vampire and maybe a human (?), that kou became a half vampire i like to asume that for that they are a kind of exeption to the rules and managed to find a happy ending but it could be wishfull thinking using the lack of information about kou half status
i think this is probably why i didn't like the ending as much as i otherwise would've. the open-endedness of the ending left me wanting more, but at least the ending wasn't worse, as it definitely could've been.
I think it's because the mangaka laid the foundation for open-ended question (half-vampire after 3 years being the biggest one) that would make us think, or at the very least hope, that there was a future where these two could just be together with no issues, blood drinking and all.
Watching it would be like pushing the gas pedal in a car without the engine on. Even the last fight in the manga wasn't really serious, nor did it feel serious....and ended as quickly as it began without any ramifications for either side.
Define "get together" Out rightly saying "we fuck now"? Making a grand kiss at the end? Or Then reuniting and doing what they've always done Just fuck around in the night
They kinda do tho. Not in a cozy slice of life house wife way, but I think it is kinda fitting. Ko wanted to have an interesting life, and that is what he got
The ending was king of a downer but is thematically coherent. Yes there ware way worsts possibilities for the ending but i also consider this one a "bad ending" They will play tag till death, with Nazuna being tempted to suck his blood until Kou grows too old to stop her. Even if this dont happen, he will eventually die, having made her spent more time with him and so suffering even more when they get separated. The more you think about it the more tragic it becomes, being immortal must really suck
She literally doesn't have to suffer a single day, save for the "I want to suck your blood" thing, since she allegedly has a way to die any time she wants.
It was one of the many good endings for Nazuna and Ko but a bad and empty ending for us, the readers. The author could have just made up some random exceptions for half-vampirised humans and human-vampire-hybrids, then let the detective explain that shit to us and have the show end satisfyingly with both parties alive and together and ready to party
I went ahead and binged the entire manga in about a week or 2 and lemme tell you I’m hurting for more 😭 such a good story that I’m gunna miss :( ending could’ve been better but I’ll take it :/ really wish we could’ve seen what’ll happen if Nazuna bit Kou since neither of them are “normal human/vampire” could’ve led to something greater
It is important to know one thing: humans have the ability to give life to the universes they believe in, know that all the universes created by humans in everything, movie, anime, manga etc really exist, which is why in dreams we can speak, see and meet fictional characters. Even if there is no sequel for a while, know that they exist and live. The same goes for us, the being who created us created us and comes to see us sometimes in dreams, over universe in other to infinity❤
When you say bit Kou , you mean turned? I felt thatsince Nazuna is a dhampir from birth which was never really explored that Kou was already as far as the point of no return could take him.

"...the ending was..." crap, literally crap, lazy and open, someone placed a deadline on the manga end or the author didn't know how to end it. It's not happy, it's not sad, it's just an "I don't know what to do, go and create your fantasy ending and discuss while I rest and decide on my next project"
Unfortunately that's super common in Japan. We don't hear a lot because most of the manga and anime that we watch/read are those that make moderate to huge success, but the author's still have to go through publishers, magazines and ways of getting their manga out. There is the indi author every now and then, but it isn't common and more often than not, publishers pression their writers to give more and more so they can publish more and thus make more money
@@rafaelgomes8835that's what they do you mean? I meant like yea if the author leave us with some hang ass over ending I think they did the right thing cus in doing that some fans can make their own ending with each different end so that the manga still alive and continuously lived up the hype. just an opinion
Yeah! The very reason we thought Nazuna go is because we thought just by having a single blood of Kou blood could potentially kill Nazuna and turn Kou into Vampire, but in this chapter we see that Kou give Nazuna his blood meaning that the very reason they separated is literally become nothing, they could still be together and yet they don't. The Chapter 198 is actually better as the ending because we can see that they actually leave each other and this could be better Open Ending ceremony for it. But Author decide to add 2 more chapter making the reader having high expectation of story continuation, but instead they end the series with the most frustrating way with ton's of unanswered question, making reader hanging don't know what to do. Their relationship is still being uncertain, Kou condition also is still mystery that could make the story long such as the 2 of them travel around the world to find the answer on Kou condition. There's just too many potential left out and unused, yet they just end it like that!

Instead of the story where thing has been slow down after mahiru death and dead end situation of kou not able to become vampire. Not sure why, but this video really helped me out. Originally, this ending broke me. Not because It was sad, but because of 3 things. 1. How Ko seems really unfazed after Nazuna left, my guess being that he, once again put on a facade. 2. How it ends so abruptly, I mean, yeah, they meet, but what then??? There are so many possibilities it`s annoying and depressing. 3. This anime made me realize that love like this doesn`t exist IRL. We all get the idea that anime characters are fictional, but I think most of us watch anime in hope that one day we`ll encounter the events we dream of. It`s so sad that this shows you a rather "utopic" world were things like friendship, love, pure intentions, fun and really cool characters (as personalities) exist, but than it hits you like a hammer when you realize it`s all fiction and stuff like this is specific to fiction and unattainable in real life.

One of the most underwhelming endings ive read in a while but looking back it wasnt just the last chapter, the story after the Hoshimi Kiku arc felt as if they had thrown aside almost all the interesting side characters and it focused mainly on a pretty absurd dilemma if you ask me, Nazuna cant bite Ko bcs she loves him but why didnt he never became a full vampire? No one knows, then why does he still have half vampire abilities and how do they work? Do he age like a person or not? Can he still become a vampire? And why did he gave a bag of his blood to Nazuna in the last chapter? Isnt that the same as her bitting him herself??? Aside from all the questions left unanswered, the story always felt as an instrospection in the concepts of affection and what it means to get close to someone or in the words "falling in love" but the series never even proposes a clear answer aside from: "you just know it bcs you always feel like wanting to be with that person". Its not the worst answer but is not an instrospection worth 200 chapters, at the end it just feels like the story didnt end, when I opened the chapter and saw it had only 22 pages it was depressing, at the end the story feels like a lot of wasted potential and maybe the mangaka wanted to end in a neat number like 200 idk
The ending feels like it was made along with the general concept of the story. It's not bad but it is far from good, and if I am being honest, feels like wasted potential.
The way i interpreted the ending of call of the night was a theme of coexistence, vampires and their many traits are like a force of nature with no one to blame, not even god. Kou and Nazuna were doomed from the start by the way vampires are, the old lady that nazuna was with represented the fact that nazuna would never grow old, she would outlive kou. With the nature of vampires nazuna could never be with kou but kou finds a solution, his literal solution of working around nazuna being a vampire is representing how people can never avoid or stop higher powers life is never thar optimistic so the only thing people can do is learn to accept and coexist with these things, luck, tragedy, death, and in nazunas case vampirism. The ending traces back all the way to the start of call of the night when kou couldn't coexist with his life snd things out of his control, his original solution was to become a vampire or simply escape/avoid these higher powers and things out of his control, the story of call of the night is a message to those unsatisfied with life and things they can't control, people who stay up late and try to escape life, it tells them that no matter how hard they try, how late they stay up, these things cant be avoided, instead all a person can do is learn to coexist with them like kou and nazuna. Life is just unfair like that
It was a bittersweet ending. They essentially canot be together since if they do one or both of them may die. So as alternative they try to distance themselves as long as they can and only meet after every few years. The ending is kinda understandable, not great since most are hoping for a good ending, but it is understandable. In the end for the two characters, what's important for them is knowing and feeling that they both love each other.
i definetly didnt like the story ending, maybe im wrong but this is just my opinion from what i remember of the story but, i thought being half vampire would play a major part on falling in love with a human, like, the fact of being in love would be ok for a half vampire or something, in the end the half-vampire plot was heavily forgotten. i also thought nazunas mother would be a major plot line, but again, its left forgotten, and mostly unexplored for what its worth. i feel like the last 2 chapters were meant to be 50 or more but got cramped into 2 for convenience. no explanation of the half transformation from kou either. like theres a lot of loose plot lines. and i dont dislike bitter sweet endings, rather i enjoy them, but this one felt empty or undeserved as if they ran out of time to explain and jumped to the end. shame, this one of the few manga series i constantly kept looking for updates since day 1.
I think the tag til death do them part thing shouldn’t be taken to seriously, Ko even shoots her down immediately. I interpreted this ending as sequel bait. It seems that the author wants to leave the door open for a sequel with Ko and Nazuna as detectives solving vampire related stuff, and perhaps in the sequel they’ll find a way to make their situation more stable.
Alsoo from what I have read form the author.. almost all he endings are the same.. per se. He is bad at making endings.. It's insane how many kind of authors exists. There are authors who are good at extending series. Authosr who are only great at 1 volume/1 shots Authors who are afraid of making a different ending where to the point they make other series it basically ends up the same. And Authors who doesn't give a F*CK about their audience and just put whatever they want.
I started reading Call of the Night at a particular point in my life, it comforted me, I saw myself in Kou, the struggle with my own identity, not really wanting to be Human. Due to that, I wanted a specific ending to the story, I wanted one where Kou completely rejects his life as a Human, and ends-up becoming a full Vampire, slowly forgetting his old life, his old struggles, his Humanity. I didn't need him to end-up with Nazuna, I just wanted him to end-up as fully inhuman, someone who has willingly rejected his Humanity, and for that to be seen/presented as a good thing. The ending we got is fine, it works, I just wanted something very different due to my own personal investment in the series.
I cannot agree less. The message such an ending would send is...grim at best. Escapism is a coping mechanism, not something you should strive for. Society may be bad, but it is all we have. The only way I'd see this as a good ending would be if it was presented in a bitter-sweet way at best.
@@ericraululyeetusdelyeetus5028 We can, it's just really hard. Also I don't think Kou ending up as a full vampire would be super grim, but that's just me being invested into Call of the Night on a deeply personal level.
Lot of coping in here, ending was dog shit, 200 chapters for them to never get together. At least nagatoro and her guy are together now after 140 chapters
Typical kotoyama ending, it was a wet fart. He cannot for the life of him get out of the dagashi kashi hole. I'm not reading any of his future works, you know they're all going to end the same way.
This ending fell so flat imo It happened a little to fast with the time skip and when the meet again I was hoping for a little more time but it just wraps in a few pages.
Ok, so I just found this out. The last time I was reading this, I was on chapter 140ish, and seeing this has kind of gotten me nervous since I was really into the manga and hearing it has ending gets me excited but the title of the video does not. I'm going to come back to this video to give my own thoughts, but hopefully, the ending is at least somewhat satisfactory. My expectations are pretty low as of now lol but at least we even got and ending
I ended up putting this series on hold a couple months back for irl responsibilities (collage and stuff), and I'm assuming reading the actual chapters has a different feel than watching a summary, but man this ending sounds like a bummer.
I binged almost the wole anime in one night(yesterday) Didn't want it to end. I like nazuna a lot and ko is a good male mc. I hope the anime gives an ending that the readers and non manga viewers will enjoy. But since they're still an inseparable pair what's the problem? We know they love each other
i was expecting that ending tbh, but reading it made it worse somehow. it was to me a garbage ending i hope he makes a 2nd part of the manga like a story apart following it up and fixing that ending perhaps idk.
idk man, nazuna is half vampire too, and she was born that way, so she grew to be like 20-25 and stopped. i hope this is what would happen to ko as well grow to a lil more then he would stagnate and become immortal. it makes sense at least, so its not an empty hope.
people never heard of open endings before… polarizing yes but you can’t sit there and say it’s “one of the worst endings of all time.” 2 friends enjoying the night from beginning to end, probably still playing tag to this day

I feel like a lot of people are missing the point that this is probably the best course of action, Kou still gets to go to school, have friends and grow up with a simi-regular life while chasing the woman he loves til they find an answer.
I remember reading a pretty big chunk of this manga and thinking "dang, I get the feeling this whole vampire transformation thing is gonna be drawn out for way too long, and I'm already losing interest." Dropped the manga and didn't think much of it. Now, I see this video in my feed and check it out. Boy, was that a good call. The second-to-last chapter? Wow.
someone help me please. nazuna was born half vampire, and she clearly grew to around 20-25 and stopped. wouldnt ko be the same? grow to around that age and stop and become immortal?
I was happy they got back together, and Nazuna straight admits that Ko is the guy she loves, and Ko says he doesn't want to be separated from her anymore
I like the ending, not every ending has to be spectacular, I think the normality of the ending and how basic it was made it fit and it was satisfying enough for me to consider it a conclusion
The ending sounds like some folklore talks. Fitting for a vampire couple. Like how some stories are about the moon or sun chasing the other, being chased by something, or how Orion runs away when scorpio shows up. Or how a ghost will look for their lover or killer
It's not so much the fact that the ending was bad exactly. It's more the fact that WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT THE FUCK NAZUNA IS. I wanted to see the big reveal on what the offspring of humans and vampires are, as well as Ko's half vampire condition. The ending left more questions than answers, and that's why I don't like it. Though I should be used to it by now since so much anime and manga does this...
One thing I always thought was that Kou could become a vampire and they could live together forever since Nazuna wasn't turned from a human and so they wouldn't die through love. It's been a while since I last read the manga but that always irked me as a massive plot hole because it was never really explained that they couldn't do it. Not even a mention, which I think was an oversight by the author as I think it would've been an acceptable way to do it where the possibility of them surviving isn't 0 and it would provide for a good ending which the fans would be happy with.
Is it really too much to ask for a happy ending? Cant help but feel like authors come up with these complicated endings just to be “different”. I dont think the author could have possibly been REALLY satisfied with the ending. The characters dont get a happy ending. And i feel like the author limited his ending options too much to give them a happy ending.
Honestly, I think the story peaked around chapter 100. The cast got a little bloated in the second half and a lot of them didn’t really get full arcs. I think the biggest example of this is Miharu’s arc and death. he doesn’t really grow or learn anything from his romance, and it doesn’t catalyze the growth of anyone else really.
Still waiting for the author to say I just trolled you Guys. here is the Part 2 continuation of the series with a more Grown up Naruto Shippuden style Time Skip Kou. This time is all about how they Break the course and end up together as a couple It Could Happen
Not a bad or good ending but it basically cuts off and continues without us really knowing what happens to Kou and Nazuna ultimately. The epitome of life goes on but taken to the extreme. Enjoyed the manga but yeah hope the story continues with a sequel that answer more questions one day.
Hey man, just dropping this here. The old lady Nazuna is living with was alive. She doesn't react much but we can see on the SFX that she actually nods (コクコク) when Nazuna talks to her. I think the implication was that Nazuna was hiding from Kou by going to that foreign orphanage which the old lady manages, and she is helping out there.
I hate this chapter the most,it end my dream life in that moment,I love them to the most end of life.Ko kun die and nazuna chan still alive.I WILL KICK TO THE AUTHOR IF I SEE HIM.WE WAIT TO NOT DEVERSE THIS.

According to him.. what's the point of living forever when he can't recall his days with nazuna. So koi Becoming a Vamp was a NO GO.. And if somehow Nazuna became A human then the whole CALL OF THE NIGHT Plot would be Pointless.. Although Nazuna Said "Let's play tag till Death do us part".. she was Laughing while saying it.. just Like always ko Declined.. saying It's not gonna happen... In the End they Went back to Japan and Ko's Winter Vacation ended. When they got back they Reunited with everyone and Liven till Ko's life came to an end .. then Nazuna Sucked his Blood And they both Died.. (Ofcourse like After ko got 50+ or something) I believe Ko and Nazuna did the right thing. The Ending was good But just Like you all.. I want a few more Chapters after they end up together.. (Also the Blood he Gave her in the last chapter was His own.. it's literally written there in Small Letters!! So Blood won't be a problem for them.)
That is BS! The very reason we thought Nazuna go is because we thought just by having a single blood of Kou blood could potentially kill Nazuna and turn Kou into Vampire, but in this chapter we see that Kou give Nazuna his blood meaning that the very reason they separated is literally nothing, they could still be together and yet they don't. If you argue that Nazuna might attack Kou, then there is tons of other ways to make sure Kou is save and still able to meet Nazuna until Kou get stronger.
Call of the Night Taught me the meaning of true Love. It's not driven by Lust or The Urge to reproduce.. It's something that's beyond it.. You just want to be with that Person even if it's for just another second.. i Love it. The ending was Sad for me at first but I Think they Went back to Japan as Ko had school to attend and Because he meet nazuna He convinced her to come along (Ofcourse she won't reject after they have been apart for So long).. If ko had Become a vamp then their Luv Story would have ended right there.. because as stated in manga Once you became a vamp you will start forgetting about the Past.. so Ko would have Forgotten about Nazuna and It would have been even more of a bad ending.. I think it's okay if Ko Ages and Nazuna Stays the same.. They both will Either figure out Something or Die together When ko gets Old.. Just Like Mahiru and Kiku. I am grateful that I found this anime Last year (Feb or march 2023) while I was scrolling in YT shorts.. At first it was so normal.. But Now that I have completed it's manga.. it was A Rollercoaster Ride for me.. It teaches us that not everything go as We want it to.. All the characters went their Own seperate ways.. And I am Sure that Had a Reunion after Our Leads returned to Japan after the manga. They Lived Happily ever After.. I love it.❤
I still don’t get some part tho… so is ko stil mortal? And if so why can’t they stay together? The 1 year rule passed so ko’s blood should “suck” to vamp now but they should be fine now. The real bitter part is that they can’t stay forever and ever as they planned… Btw there’s another thing.. what is the lore behind ko’s new state? So from what I understand now he’s able to get vamp ability and that he can control them…how tho?! I mean does he still have to hurt himself to activate his power or he can just do it… but if so, that would mean he just decide to grow up a little bit but he’s should be able if (he want) to have an eternal life. That’s another (forced) way to interpret it. Overall I loved this manga the chill the action, character dev, emotional damage moment… but this ending was trash ngl everything seems so rushed. Why can’t they just add 5 chapter just to explain what happened? Or 10 to see how are the other characters doin?
I think the only reason why we're generally disappointed or at least I am is because we all wanted a good love story.. and it totally look like they were going to happen
I don't remember what chapter it was but there was one where I could tell that the manga was ending soon, and that the ending was going to leave me unsatisfied (which it did). To me I would've preferred if Nazuna and Yamori took the risk bc it's pretty much they either die or Yamori turns into a full vampire.

Thats the same shit i said when nazuna realized she was In love with him
we will never know. Author's other works are also like this. They seem to like open endings...
My guess is Kyo has been in love with Nazuna from the start and Nazuna been Vampire born from human so she kinda turned him from the start.
My guess is that since Nazuna was born out of a Vampire and a Human, she was already not fully vampire so she couldn't fully turn Kou into a vampire.
Sounds to me like the most plausible explanation, I think he fell in love with her not directly at the start but somewhere in between, and Nazuna is just straight up unable to have functional off-spring, they'd all be half-vampires
@@grimbite5625 But vampires can get pregnant so maybe she can do that
This is a good guess, it puts my mind at ease because the ending put a bit of stress on me, and this kind of explanation would make me feel better
Maybe Nazuna really did turn Kou into a vampire when he turned half, its just that she can't fully turn him into one because shes the offspring of a vampire and a human
I mean vampires could still get pregnant though, so maybe Kou can leave a kid behind as a testament of his existence
What if yoriicho from demon slayer got transpprted into the call of night verse?
So basically Kou and Nazuna get to relive their love story over and over again forever until death to them apart.

I gunned through all 200 chapters in a few days and I've gotta say, it was an ending of all time.

I know right its rare for a manga to end with a simple happy ending
Honestly, I'd have preferred an implosion.
Two friends hangin out, but now they realize they're more than just friends.
. . . It was underwhelming tho.
@@Nick-wi3kd yeah that's the point, it's in my comment. It didn't feel like an ending to begin with but the start of a new adventure between the two. Its just another "night" for them.

It doesn't have to have bombastic ending but that ending was very anti climactic and this is so far the story doesn't fit the ending
whack ending for a series that really shoot itsef in the foot

I like the ending but it leaves soooooo many questions open that it leave me disapointed
Seriously. That’s mostly my number one complaint. There’s a lot of clarification that we didn’t get which is quite unfortunate.

@@RHEMEMESThat’s an actual nice theory you got there
@@RHEMEMES I have the same theory. But since it would take such a risk to know that for sure, they can't really figure it out.
I think it's because the mangaka laid the foundation for open-ended question (half-vampire after 3 years being the biggest one) that would make us think, or at the very least hope, that there was a future where these two could just be together with no issues, blood drinking and all.
the ending was one that has made me have no interest in watching a second season

what
because Nazuna still has the urge to suck Kou's blood, and she doesn't know if she does that they'll end up dead.
The ending was king of a downer but is thematically coherent.
Yes there ware way worsts possibilities for the ending but i also consider this one a "bad ending"
They will play tag till death, with Nazuna being tempted to suck his blood until Kou grows too old to stop her.
I mean that's why immortality is bad.. you either live too long or someone decides they can just find a way to torture you for eternity.

@@spyblade9489 well it's been a long time so pls help me remember abit, ch198 is when they separated in train right? While this ending will surely make many reader angry, it won't be as much and as frustrating like in ch200 because we can actually conclude it with proper open ending there, and let's no talk philosophical thingy here. But when they enter ch200 the story progress at suddenly high rate and the with so many new information and hints of news possible story. We got struck by sudden story ending! They literally get our hope high for half a chapter and then kill it with massive disappointment of discontinuation!
I just want you to imagine! Instead of the story where thing has been slow down after mahiru death and dead end situation of kou not able to become vampire. Where the atmosphere is very stable and settled down which leave the author with 2 options! One is to end the story for good and two is to continue the story with many possible outcomes that have been serve so far, and when we see oh! The new chapter!? That's indicated to reader that author must have choose to continue the series! Then when hope is high and many reader start to speculating and make a theory, next week they found out that the series is end with more questions than answer....
So you tell me, which one sounds more horrible?
That's considered a "bad" ending these days??

People are just hating because the ending wasnt some super big event to finish off the series but something like that wouldnt really fit cotn
No please don't remind me of that one...
@@IonreallysleepDude the cotn anime feels so much more like the true story even though it skips some parts it feels happy it doesnt feel gloomy like this ending is, Idk how they would even write this scene into the anime but It wasnt a "good" ending it wasnt a "bad" ending too, it was just bad writing and the author should have thought more about it
Endings will ALWAYS make or break a series, imagine if one piece's ending was that the one piece was like Roger's signature or something
@@okami-azz1492 you kinda missed the point of the story if you think it should've ended with him becoming a vampire. The story from the start was about a kid with issues that didn't wanna live his life anymore. Having him become a vampire and be "dead" would suck
I feel you bro it broke me too as I kept imaging myself in kons place and what I'd do
If Koi became a Vamp then This means Kou will eventually forget about nazuna and they will become like a mother and child.. And Kou said it himself.. he doesn't want that.. right? According to him.. what's the point of living forever when he can't recall his days with nazuna.
So koi Becoming a Vamp was a NO GO.. And if somehow Nazuna became A human then the whole CALL OF THE NIGHT Plot would be Pointless..
Although Nazuna Said "Let's play tag till Death do us part".. she was Laughing while saying it.. just Like always ko Declined.. saying It's not gonna happen...
I think they continued their Life Enjoy
And..??
FILL UP THE ALBUM KOU GIFTED TO NAZUNA..
For those who think they Where separated in the end (Nazuna ran away again) No they didn't.. She wanted to fill that Photo album so I don't believe she Ran away.. I think they Went to all sorts of places and Meet different people. In the End they Went back to Japan and Ko's Winter Vacation ended.
When they got back they Reunited with everyone and Liven till Ko's life came to an end .. then Nazuna Sucked his Blood And they both Died.. (Ofcourse like After ko got 50+ or something)
I believe Ko and Nazuna did the right thing.
The Ending was good But just Like you all..
I want a few more Chapters after they end up together..
(Also the Blood he Gave her in the last chapter was His own.. it's literally written there in Small Letters!! So Blood won't be a problem for them.)
How to ruin an amazing manga/anime in a single arc. just because in the past we got worse dosen't mean this is shit
Life is just unfair like that
Genuinely one of the top psychological romance manga of all time.
I find it to be unnecessarily convoluted for what the story actually was.
i definetly didnt like the story ending, maybe im wrong but this is just my opinion from what i remember of the story but, i thought being half vampire would play a major part on falling in love with a human, like, the fact of being in love would be ok for a half vampire or something, in the end the half-vampire plot was heavily forgotten. i also thought nazunas mother would be a major plot line, but again, its left forgotten, and mostly unexplored for what its worth. i feel like the last 2 chapters were meant to be 50 or more but got cramped into 2 for convenience. no explanation of the half transformation from kou either. like theres a lot of loose plot lines. and i dont dislike bitter sweet endings, rather i enjoy them, but this one felt empty or undeserved as if they ran out of time to explain and jumped to the end. shame, this one of the few manga series i constantly kept looking for updates since day 1.
That’s dumb the ending is still bad just because it could’ve been worse doesn’t make it any better
This ending was terrible and anyone who thinks this is a good ending is crazy.
I think the tag til death do them part thing shouldn’t be taken to seriously, Ko even shoots her down immediately. I interpreted this ending as sequel bait. It seems that the author wants to leave the door open for a sequel with Ko and Nazuna as detectives solving vampire related stuff, and perhaps in the sequel they’ll find a way to make their situation more stable.
ending wasn't bad but i wanted more the story felt a little cut short
i'm gonna save u 7 min, the ending was shit, complete and utter shit, dagakashi kashi ed was open but it wasn't as bad as this one, this is even worse
Alsoo from what I have read form the author.. almost all he endings are the same.. per se. He is bad at making endings..
It's insane how many kind of authors exists.
There are authors who are good at extending series.
Authosr who are only great at 1 volume/1 shots
Authors who are afraid of making a different ending where to the point they make other series it basically ends up the same.
@@ericraululyeetusdelyeetus5028 It was the ending I wanted because it's the ending I want for myself.
@@IchigoShinagami it may be the ending you want, but it isn't the ending you need. We can't turn away from our lives, or the people we've touched.
@@ericraululyeetusdelyeetus5028 We can, it's just really hard. Also I don't think Kou ending up as a full vampire would be super grim, but that's just me being invested into Call of the Night on a deeply personal level.
@@IchigoShinagami it is grim, coming from someone that'd be disturbed to see someone gradually become more closed off and then disappear.
Lot of coping in here, ending was dog shit, 200 chapters for them to never get together. At least nagatoro and her guy are together now after 140 chapters
200 chapters and that hack of a mangaka still dint make any good lore.
Goddamn shitshows from start to finish.
The ending is so open and it honestly made me feel like there was going to be some spin offs like the adventures of anko and the other vampires
Typical kotoyama ending, it was a wet fart. He cannot for the life of him get out of the dagashi kashi hole. I'm not reading any of his future works, you know they're all going to end the same way.

@@whadasha I stopped counting after the 5th time
It dropped off after the Hokkaido arc. Such a shame
This is why i dont like getting into any unfinished shows or manga. Im so afraid of them ending poorly
Idk man i dont think you need stories of vampires worldwide. Call of the night is a self contained small story. Being ambiguous is fine
This ending fell so flat imo
It happened a little to fast with the time skip and when the meet again I was hoping for a little more time but it just wraps in a few pages.
I don't think it is a bad ending, just a bit bland.
Honestly I would have preferred an ending where they died instead of this empty shit
I ended up putting this series on hold a couple months back for irl responsibilities (collage and stuff), and I'm assuming reading the actual chapters has a different feel than watching a summary, but man this ending sounds like a bummer.
It’s a huge bummer
I binged almost the wole anime in one night(yesterday)
Didn't want it to end. I like nazuna a lot and ko is a good male mc.
I hope the anime gives an ending that the readers and non manga viewers will enjoy. But since they're still an inseparable pair what's the problem? We know they love each other
I would of been okay with Kou turning into a vampire.
I was going to binge the first season since the second one was recently annouced, but after this ending I guess I won’t bother…
Yea same crap happened to dagashi Maga, same average generic ending... extremely disappointed.
Idk bout you Bois but I'm getting the mid/bad ending disappointment feeling and I didn't even read or watch this series lmfao
i was expecting that ending tbh, but reading it made it worse somehow. it was to me a garbage ending i hope he makes a 2nd part of the manga like a story apart following it up and fixing that ending perhaps idk.
The real sad part about the ending was the fact that since Kou isnt a "Full vampire" like Nazuna he will one day pass away leaving her all alone
idk man, nazuna is half vampire too, and she was born that way, so she grew to be like 20-25 and stopped. i hope this is what would happen to ko as well grow to a lil more then he would stagnate and become immortal.
it makes sense at least, so its not an empty hope.
@@carlospitteri3146 i never saw it that way so its a new light to me. I hope thats how things ended up.

I dont like that ending 😢
people never heard of open endings before… polarizing yes but you can’t sit there and say it’s “one of the worst endings of all time.” 2 friends enjoying the night from beginning to end, probably still playing tag to this day

Yeah I'm really sure it will be like that, and they will end up together at some point when Ko finishes school and stuff yk
I was happy they got back together, and Nazuna straight admits that Ko is the guy she loves, and Ko says he doesn't want to be separated from her anymore
The story is lame as hell, Iike Twilight. You have to be twelve to really like it.
I like the ending, not every ending has to be spectacular, I think the normality of the ending and how basic it was made it fit and it was satisfying enough for me to consider it a conclusion
Thanks for saving my time.
The ending sounds like some folklore talks. Fitting for a vampire couple. Like how some stories are about the moon or sun chasing the other, being chased by something, or how Orion runs away when scorpio shows up. Or how a ghost will look for their lover or killer
First Dagashi Kashi now this?????
Man it feels like the candy shop manga the author made all over again
Still waiting for the author to say I just trolled you Guys. here is the Part 2 continuation of the series with a more Grown up Naruto Shippuden style Time Skip Kou.
This time is all about how they Break the course and end up together as a couple
It Could Happen
N-NANI?! KAKYOIN!
I hope in the future there will be more call of the night content
Lopez Betty Gonzalez Richard Lewis Matthew
Not a bad or good ending but it basically cuts off and continues without us really knowing what happens to Kou and Nazuna ultimately. The epitome of life goes on but taken to the extreme. Enjoyed the manga but yeah hope the story continues with a sequel that answer more questions one day.

The ending imo fits the vibe of the relationship between kou and nazuna
Hey man, just dropping this here. The old lady Nazuna is living with was alive. She doesn't react much but we can see on the SFX that she actually nods (コクコク) when Nazuna talks to her. I think the implication was that Nazuna was hiding from Kou by going to that foreign orphanage which the old lady manages, and she is helping out there.
Love this kind of content. I subbed
I hate this chapter the most,it end my dream life in that moment,I love them to the most end of life.Ko kun die and nazuna chan still alive.I WILL KICK TO THE AUTHOR IF I SEE HIM.WE WAIT TO NOT DEVERSE THIS.

Would be nice to see a season two for the anime……….
There's just too many potential left out and unused, yet they just end it like that!
i m crying i followed it for so long.
I ll be waiting for Kotoyama next work
Not my favorite ending but at least they were together.
This ending is ass ngl 😂
