Thank you for this wonderful upload. R.I.P. Don Everly. I have just now created a nice group page for dear Don Everly and his dear brother Phil. It is Bye Bye Love ~ The Incomparable Everly Brothers Fan Group. Please spread the word. It is a labor of love and filled with their great music. Thank you.
Having visited with the lovely folks of Kentucky and Central City, I can not recommended highly enough a visit to the music museum for any Everly Brothers fan. ❤️
Interesting to take in a local perspective. Being cut off from Acuff-Rose -published songs in a dispute with Fred Rose also undermined the Everlys' momentum in the 1960s. It was Fats Domino, not Chubby Checker, elected to the RRHOF in 1986.
Thank you for pointing that out! You are correct, of course; Mr. Mayes misspoke. The inaugural class was Fats Domino, James Brown, Sam Cooke, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, and Little Richard as well as the Everlys, Buddy Holly, Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis. So much wonderful music put out by all those artists! 😍
