      ""do you think the tories can be saved after this"
      great; just go quiet then;

They shamelessly lied to the people about Iraq, and Blair " ran behind the coach " carrying his sleazebag friend, Bush ! " We will be with you George-WHATEVER " ?????? And that was way before the invasion of Iraq.( whatever ?? - decision already made at that point ) Everybody and his dog knows now, that there were no weapons of mass destruction ! Result - the needless deaths and maiming of so many of our sons and daughters ! We never really found out what happened to Dr.Kelly either - did we ? It might do a lot of people a bit of good to remember that Gordon Brown, the then Chancellor, sold off a large amount of our gold reserves rather cheaply, and if you cannot see the implications of that, you need to do some real homework instead of sticking your head up where the Sun don't shine and hoping it will all go away ! They've no clearly structured ideology or set of guiding principles about society, country or people. Instead they seem to just pick up on ideas - seemingly passing ideas that are topical - make soundbites out of them, but don't seem to translate them into cohesive legislation. Otherwise they're just content to bumble along, reacting (ineptly) to circumstances instead of being proactive. They're really just a bunch of supervisors...

    To quote Peter Hitchens on the BBC, June 24th 2016. He said that both the corpses of the main parties have been "propping each other up with their rigor mortis". Labour may cheering the end of the Tories, but it is also their demise too. This is because the social/cultural worldview of the main political parties is feminism, they are out of ideas. They are defined in opposition to one another as opposed a philosophical worldview in which they stand for. Labour is going to fragment worse than the Tories: Islington feminists/Blairites - Islamists - traditional socially conservative labour who could never vote Tory.

    The Tories lack of talent comes from the total destruction of its constituency Association base over the last three decades… punishing the connected free thinking volunteers on the ground in their local communities.
    They jettisoned the whole organisation in favour of CHQ and ‘parachuting’ in candidates who acquiesced to the central leaderships vision of the ‘outside’ communities and what they wanted. They’ve failed to grasp and connect with the people any longer.

    He talks about 'talent' in the Conservative Party. Who needs talent, experience, skills ..... indeed anything, except the ability to talk whilst not answering any questions. The 'job' of MP is one of the few roles for which there are pretty well no pre-requisites - in the same level as stacking the shelves at Tesco. Then they becoma a minister and they are surrounded by Spads - which is perhaps as well, since the week earlier, they had a different portfolio. I suspect some of them make decisions the same way as Queen Elizabeth I chose her Archbishop of Canterbury.

    If you want another word to substitute for evil then think the Tory Party. Among their disgusting behaviour is the way they go after people that speak the truth. An 80 seat majority with a promise to honour that support. The results speak for themselves.

    It's possibly the end of the Tories. They only have themselves to blame. Political parties do go extinct. The Whigs being the most famous example of a once successful party that is no more.

    I was almost certain I would vote for reform. My one reservation was my local Tory MP is a good guy, and the reform candidate is a bit odd. The final straw was Kwasi Kwartang on GB news last night defending the National service policy, ridiculous policy, absolutely boiled my urine.

      They don't really have any sort of "bench" to draw on for candidates but I think we have to maximise their % of the vote this election : as a wise man once said : its about sending a message.

    Many people are willing to pay more taxes to get better services?! We having been paying more and more in order to receive less and less for the past decade or two so maybe it is not about us paying more but about our leaders demanding efficiency and accountability instead of just pouring endless amounts of money into bottomless voids.

    Wasn't it Thatcher, herself who said "Communism Never Sleeps"(?) - If she could see the Conservative Party, today, she would see how awake it is, with it's more Liberal 'arm' well and truly strangle-holding the Tory Party, from within. Once Labour take control (this time around) it's hard to see HOW Conservatism (old values) will ever get the opportunity to return..

    The problem with the political parties is they all follow the same economic/political mantra; Globalism, Multiculturalism and Neo-liberalism. The electorate are getting bored of this and despondent. Reform are the best option as they refuse to follow the Multiculturalist philosophy, but they still adhere to the Globalist and Neo-liberalist mandate, which has been prevalent in British politics in the past 40 years.

    • @JohnSmith-oe4ci

      I agree up to a point - Reform embrace the social conservatism that Cameron eradicated from the Tories and signal against the Blair style of extreme globalism whilst still being economically Thatcherite. But atleast Farage has been brave enough to ever so slightly push back against the insane Ukraine war-mongering.
