    Very informative interview. I hope that your guest takes the time to write a book(if he hasn't done so already), I'm sure that it would be a fascinating read!

    To enable her access to the local NH police, your friend Maggie said the FBI wouldn't do any good at this point. I hope you've noticed that.

      Exactly, after watching the Oxygen series ,and being able to really see the surroundings where she crashed her car. I now have no doubts about Maura getting into the wrong car ( either with someone she knew that was following her to a chosen destination) or she hopped into a car with a total stranger.I personally lean towards the stranger who is most likely a local, and she was murdered and it was covered-up..

    Tim, I appreciate the disgust that you show when some of the horrific crimes are mentioned by your guests. When listening to these true crime podcasts and the news in general, we (the public) get used to hearing about terrible events every day with little reaction by the hosts/news anchors. Your reactions bring it home that these crimes are truly awful and we should not forget that these victims are real people who had to endure the worst possible fear and pain.

    Can't believe it's been this long. I remember seeing the Dateline episode on Maura late one night around 2010ish and being chilled to the bone-the entire scenario was terrifying to me. The idea that she started a new life somewhere seems absurd to me given the circumstances of her disappearance; most people who do that slip away quietly and don't leave behind their crashed car with all their belongings inside on a public road. I know there has been a lot of pushback against the idea that she ran into the woods and died, but I truly feel like that is the most likely scenario, second to an abduction/murder. The woods can conceal many things and I don't believe it's impossible for her to still be out there. This has happened many times. Look up the Wanda Jean Mays disappearance-she vanished under weird circumstances (later determined to be accidental/stemming from mental illness) and her body was recovered years later less than two miles from where she vanished; her remains were unidentified for five years before the FBI could link them to her via DNA. This kind of thing happens.

    wonder if this hypothetical person hasn't been heard from or gotten in trouble since because maybe they're already in jail? anyone from that area go to jail for any lengthy period of time between 2004-2008?

    Was under the impression that the 24 hour wait for reporting missing people was BS. Will have to look into this further. Does anyone have any info on this?

    48:17 "It doesn't have any earmarks of a suicide," says Bobby Chacon. Really? 1. Maura was driving that night with $40 of liquor and SIX boxes of sleeping pills. Reasonable explanation for that? 2. In Fred Murray's 911 call to report Maura missing he says she has been DEPRESSED lately. Depression is a leading factor in suicide. 3. In his first public statement, Fred Murray pleads with Maura not to harm herself. 4. Before she leaves on this unexplained journey, Maura packs up everything in her dorm room and places an email about her boyfriend's betrayal on top of the boxes. Whatever ultimately happened to Maura, how can you rule out suicidal thoughts as a motivation for the trip?

    • @MotivationMindsetU
      @MotivationMindsetU 6 лет назад

      where did it ever say 6 boxes? police report said a box of sleeping pills. no way she killed herself. someone did it to her. If she wanted to kill herself she could have just done it in the dorm room. no one is going to get in a car accident and lock up the car before going to take their own life . doesn't make sense. i often wonder if she was going to help kathleen get away from her husband once and for all and something went wrong.

    • @Bigwave2003

      That's what it showed on the police report of car contents in the Oxygen series. Locking a car door is just a habit.

    the problem in this case, there are no local politicians who want to be involved.
    this is what I think....

    • @judyholiday653
      @judyholiday653 6 лет назад

      Why not have a cold case team take a look at this case? it is obvious the local cops messed it up due to non interest (when Maura first crashed her car) or maybe even due to lack of experience in dealing with such a strange case.Why haven't they called in a cold case unit ? after 14 years and all of the press interest you'd think they would be begging for some fresh opinions as to what happened to Maura Murray..
