Beautifully shot, Kenneth! I saw the band in LA in December. They were just awesome. Reminded me of seeing Jerry Garcia's band when I was younger. Molly is one of the greatest guitarists I've ever seen live. Yet, she's so humble, never hogs the spotlight, and lets her band shine. That's a true leader.
Super Moon was Brilliant, and that shared break with Bronwyn and Molly was off the charts, but listening with headphones and not watching the video, I was blown away by Shelby's bass. She was tearing up during that same break.
I didn't like blue grass until Molly Tuttle. She, and her band are, as far as I am concerned, are as great a musicians as any of the top artists back in the 60,70,and80s. They're aren't many true artists after that. Great music!
How can it be explained to you guys? This has left Bluegrass far behind, this is something new and Better. Fantastic, beautiful, let them ROCK. A message from England.
@@Frisbieinstein Hi, they may have been Bluegrass, and nothing wrong with that all, it's great. But this band have moved up by some levels. they produce something new and imaginative, all of the individual members add up something very special. I've heard nothing so original since the old days of the English prog. rock movement. I absolutely love it.
Saw them last night in Connecticut, expecting to see a solidly great bluegrass show, never expected to leave there thinking I had just witnsessed one of the most dynamic performances I had seen in the last 5 years, and that 5 years has been filled with a lot of shows in this genre(Sierra Hull, Sarah Jarosz, I'm With Her, Watchhouse, Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers, Sierra Ferrell, to name a few). Molly andn her band are so in tune with each other and bring a level of stage presence and performance not often seen in this genre. The medley of Alice in the Bluegrass into White Rabbit gave me full body chills, it was stunning!!
@@carolharper2366 That medley was the highlight of a show that was filled with highlights. Had to google the lyrics to Alice in the Bluegrass, they are brilliant!!
Dam, thats one Happy Bass!! Shelby makes it sound n look amazing. Great tone, Excellent Video and Sound... Really Good Stuff!!! Hope to see this group live!!! Best music ive heard in awhile...
The wierd thing is, around the late 50's came the inventon of the "transistor radio". They figured since the whole tubes thing could be reduced to the size of a package of figs, you don't need any big speaker. So about two generations of people grew up with almost never hearing any bass notes.
Agreed. Sam's whole monologue just before he plays Turkey In The Straw with Sierra is great: "I just wanna say how proud I am of Sierra, for kicking all the good old boys in the ass in the world of mandolin. Bluegrass... It ain't just for boys anymore... I want a T-shirt that says that."
I have always thought that bluegrass is one of the most tradition-bound and conservative (musically, not politically) genres of roots music. That viewpoint comes from having seen and heard a lot of bluegrass bands that sound and look the same, or from having been reproached for doing things like improvising on a tune and being told, "That's not the way Bill Monroe played it." Of course, I know that is only one viewpoint , and that in reality the music is always evolving and changing. I remember even in the 1970s when no one less than Earl Scruggs was catching flak for bringing drums and electric instruments into his band, and for hanging out with longhairs. Still, I am surprised at how in just a few generations, bluegrass has gone from old men in matching suits to Millennials in hot pants. Superb musicianship though.
You always have some great videos I live in Oklahoma City and would love to catch some of these shows 👍🏾🔥 them girls playing the hell outta those instruments ❤
As a jazz musician I'd say this is simple harmonically. A lot of one-chord sections. More like a sped-up Grateful Dead jam. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Enjoy and have fun!
Love the dueling fiddle and guitar, and wow, what some nice legs on those ladies, I don't see how those two guys can concentrate on their instruments LOL
One of the biggest mistakes in my life..... letting my wife talk me out of going to this concert! My children took me to the brewery by that venue, great Father's Day with my kids, but kept thinking about missing that concert :(
Those long legs on that fantastic lady musician match up nicely with her scratching that gitfiddle . If I wasn't 80 Im sure I'd come a calling. Maybe take a walk down by the river after church. Leave the music to the ladies. Lads you need to watch this once and listen to it the second time.
Technically, she's 10x better than Billy Strings BUT Billy is the total entertainment package... Her and the other female members don't need to dress in fish net stockings and hot pants IMNSHO though. Kinda' demeaning.
It's not demeaning if that's how they chose to dress nobody is making them dress like that.and all there showing is there legs which women do all the time.
Music? I get distracted by Shelby on a good day let alone in cut offs........no seriously I really like the music Molly, Kyle, Dominic, Bronwyn and Shelby play.
No rhythm in this set up. Playing solos is not enough. A firm straight rhythm has to keep it together. Now I hear only chaotic tones like tuning instruments independently from others.

That was off the hook remarkable. MT&GH I cant wait to see you again in Vermont.

Every member totally rocks out!!!! (plus, these girls are gorgeous)

I dunno, it sounds like Windham Hill bluegrass to me. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

You are not wrong!
It is Newgrass.
What a fine band ! They have their own unique sound. They aren't a reconstitution of any past band configurations . They are fresh and exciting !

That's some intense musicianship.❤❤❤❤❤
What a band!!!! Everybody is awesome in their own wright and the sum is even better!
Mindblowing!!! Bluegrass at it's finest!

What awesome musicians
The lady on the base sure is beautiful, Im in love, with her base playing!!
She plays the BASS good too.
@@Wobbz9413and WELL! 😅
Absolutely magical!!!! ❤❤❤
Sweetest fiddlin' and devilish mandolinin'! ❤❤❤❤❤
When Molly and Bronwyn do that call and response on the guitar and the fiddle you can see the sparks fly.
Wowwwwwwww! They are just SOOOO good!
Molly and the group are simply fantastic !
I need to see the live Now!!!! So Awesome.
Molly your music and pretty face light up my day...keep shining
Just superb.
What a fabulous band.
Molly has some serious serious gams
As usual, Molly and Golden Highway are kickin a%$ and takin names. As Sam Bush said in reference to Sierra, "bluegrass, it ain't just for boys!"
@dfasht ZZTop song comes to mind but, hey they are kickin it!
When's the last time someone said bluegrass was for boys? Such a stupid comment

I was at this show! So great seeing them live!
Must have been super in that particular venue. Have fun!
Wow...that bass player is amazing!
They're all amazing solo -and, together, they're more than the sum of the parts = megamazing!
Awesome!!
Far out, thank you.
Beyond inspirational.. !
Can't wait to see you all do this in person!
Captured nicely
I love this band !
Us older pickers would call it Dawg music and fondly remember Mr. Grisman and Mr. Rice's contribution.
I dunno. Grisman’s Dawg music has his own unique style. Not the same as this to me.
Come to South Australia soon. PLEASE!
this looks like a kickass live show
$noot noot
Wow - where’d these super excellent people come from ?!!!
Great jam!
I wish they would come to Florida.
Very nice!
Blu-Grazz. This is some super fine Bluegrass in the jazz style of complex improvisation. These folks can lay it down, now....!!!!!
As a jazz musician I'd say this is simple harmonically. A lot of one-chord sections. More like a sped-up Grateful Dead jam. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Enjoy and have fun!
Two,three notes into the performance: hey, Jerry is back!
Playing this song, Super Moon, they kinda remind me of The Who. Power House!!
Those outfits are getting a bit wild! But it works for you all! Becaus all of you are great musicians!
Very good. The first part of the second song reminded me a lot of "Ohio" by CSN&Y.
out there in their short shorts!
Just plain ass good..keep pickin!!
Can hear the influence of David Grisman's Dawg Music" definitely.
Great tune!
On 🔥 😮ya burning 🔥 ☮️❤️✨
Dooley a great Irish name making good "Moonshine" in USA or "Poitìn" if from Ireland🙂 great song
Fantastic.
Bluegrass in the rearview mirror.
This is music... bluegrass evolved into the 21st C.
Good tune...why weren't the guys in short shorts....equality and all.
Feels weird to see Bronwyn without Mile Twelve. I hope she's doing well and living her best life.
She's getting more attention playing with this band on bigger stages I think she fine.
Looks like she's doing really well. Molly introduced many of us to her brilliance, and isn't she on a grammy winning album Crooked Tree.
Great show live, glad I found tickets!
When the mandolin player starts switching modes you know you have gone from Bluegrass to Jam Band
Not blue grass. It's new grass

tucks his head up in a Pioneer seed cap, nice shoes Molly
I think the guys should wear shorts if the girls are wearing them ,stockings optional!
This!
that's a tall glass of legs Molly's sportin"...who knew?
Beautiful pair of getaway sticks😂😂

Molly and those long legs......
Where are the shorts for the boys
Progressive Bluegrass. I love it. 😃
what's with the shorts?
You never she gals there age wearing shorts?they know they look good in them you get them to watch then they notice how good you are.
Why aren't the guys wearing THEIR Daisy Dukes?
The fishnets turn it into a catch...slainte
Is this late night delfest?
No.
that molly tuttle can whack some guitar!
Why don’t the guys have to wear short shorts?
Think the guys should be wearing shorts too in today’s political climate
Please don't start that shit nothing in this video has anything to do with politics.
I don’t care this is Blue grass porn…and i love it 😻
Great music, and good to watch too! Fab!
Is it just me, or does that banjo player look like a very young Norman Watt-Roy?
Molly is already such a superb songwriter, singer, and picker. But dressed like that, she'll have men (and some women) swooning all over the world.

You have no sense of rhythm.
Her back up ruined the punch. Stop endless runs. Keep into the melody and the open chordings.

Great harmony playing by the group especially Mollie, Bronwyn and Shelby on the bottom. That's really talented playing, actually like Jazz.
Swarbs and Thompson anyone? A sailor's life/Matty Groves?
awesome my man!!!
