      @@unstoppabietft Nah everyone knows it's about the equalish endgame that only him can win. GM barely win in middle game because everyone is good at being dynamic. It's how magnus evaluate the endgame every time before they enter endgame he knows he got the advantage to squeeze.

Everyone said Magnus opening preparation was shit when he played Anand and they criticised him back then that he should prepare better and stop depending on his insanely good middle game positional accuracy. Kasparov a few years ago said that Carlsen is Fischer/Karpov mixture of accuracy and milking the hell out of every piece positionally. So actually everyone in the chess world always appreciated his middlegame.

      He was just being honest, using the quote to explain how his playing style is much like Capablanca and yes, also the genius. In fact, this connection he's trying to make with Capablanca actually reveals how much he respects that world champion.

      An engine evaluation doesn't always capture the practicalities of playing a position as a human. Eval bar could be dead center but one side is easier to play, which makes it "better" for a human.

      @@deadfisher0000 Yes, he does. A human can adopt both a human-like and computer-like playing style. Consequently, the optimal move is the one that prevails against both-or secures a draw if the ultimate theoretical conclusion of chess is that perfect play leads to a drawn game.

      Any 'great' player prior to Fischer is a sub-part GM. Anything after Fischer are legitimate GMs.

For them, Capablanca is one of the greatest ever and probably the most naturally talented of all. I'll side with them.

    The difference between him and Ding is how outspoken and knowledgeable he is. Truly a great heir to the embassadors of chess that were/are Kasparov and Anand. I hope that whoever is becoming champion next can be similarly influential and outspoken about the philosophy and history of chess. It is what makes this game so beautiful

    Chess is all about making accurate move as possible in any stage of the game. Making inaccurate moves in the opening is not as devastating as making inaccurate moves as in the middle game or worse like the end game.
    making inaccurate move in end game is devastating. Given the nature of chess,
    Players can make mistakes at any stage of the game but we tend to focus more on the mistakes that are made in the end game. Because those mistakes cause definitive losses or draws.
    Hence it creates the illusion that the top players in history are all good in endgame. Because Most of the memorable games are the ones like that

    I almost agree until he lost opening and middle game tactics, but able to solved end game puzzles that stumped other super GM’s almost instantly. He’s so good at the end game that only he has foresight of the advantage he would have in middle game.

    Fischer for chess is a pure anomaly. Self thought .. No chess player has ever done . I doubt anyone will ever do what he has done. Magnus is amazing but Fischer is like an alien for all of them ..

    Mags is a grinder in the end game. But keep in mind, they never used to play bullet or blitz. These days most of chess is in bullet or blitz.

      I think I remember a quote from Capablanca saying at quick Chess he had no peer. However, I do not know what speed this quick Chess was then. I would suspect three minutes, but that is just a guess. Alexander Alekhine said that Capablanca’s sight of the board was flabbergasting.

      He played with other GM -s at that time with 1 min to 5 odds, and beet all of them...He destroyed Eve, who had deasent score in speed chess with Alechine..There are many sources for his astonishing speed of playing, I red somewhere, that people didn't play against Capa as much as his coat (suit), sorry for bed Englisch..

    I feel like Capablanca's middle and end games are much more fluid, and looks more natural... Can't say the same for Magnus'...
    I'm always excited to watch Capablanca's videos, but not the same when watching Magnus' endgames...

      Capablanca's endgames look more smooth cause his peers were nowhere near his endgame levels. Magnus's opponents on the other hand are much more sharp compared to Capablanca's.

      Morphy Tal Alekhine Kasparov had More complex beautiful games than dry safe Fischer! My old computer 32mgh tought 5:22 minutes Capablanca-Reti game move and solved! Same computer tought only 4:37 minutes Kasparov-Keamnik game move and solved! Same computer tought only 1:55 Fischer vs Benko game move and solved! Computers telling the truth Capablanca better than Fischer or Kasparov!!
