  • I was absolutely thrilled when Muse announced an intimate theatre tour of North America in October 2022, but disappointed none of the dates were even near Atlanta or the south. So once again, five months after seeing Muse in London, I traveled to Toronto and NYC to see them again! It was my first time visiting both Canada and New York, and I had a wonderful time!
The show at the Beacon was an interesting gig in that the entire theatre was made up of assigned seating - meaning no general admission! Very unusual for a Muse concert. I was lucky enough to get a front row ticket during the presale that was directly in front of Matt, and yes, I paid a pretty penny for it. Shame me all you want, but I have absolutely no regrets for paying well for such an experience! This was, without a doubt, the closest I've ever been to the stage at a Muse gig. I could have literally reached out and touched Matt when he came to the edge of the stage in front of me, I was that close. At one moment in fact, he was playing on his knees and kind of leaned forward, and for a brief second I was scared he was going to fall on top of me, lol. I said close, didn't I? So that was... fun. :)
Any complaints about the setlist aside (there were many, and yes, we were disrespected), we still got Stockholm Syndrome. And anytime I hear that live, it makes my night! I was also thrilled to get a guitar pick after the show from Matt's guitar tech, taken right off his mic stand.
I should mention a little something else happened before the show while I was waiting at the stage door... I got to meet Dom (first time) and Matt (again)! They both signed my Showbiz CB booklet that I've had for 20 years, and Dom also signed a WOTP postcard I brought along. Dom also took the time to take a selfie with me, and I adore him so much for it. :)
