Amelia Earhart's plane crashed on an island. She survived the crash, but was torn apart by coconut crabs. They are about 3 ft tall. A pathologist confirmed her identity with an autopsy and her freckle cream. I was very sad to hear about it.

I used to share this little factoid with everyone, until unfortunately the bones were confirmed to be male in 2022. However, researchers believe that the bones belonged to that of her copilot, Fred Noonan due to the fact that they found her freckle cream along with wreckage material near his remains. The pathologist made his initial determination based off of evidence that could have applied to either of the pilots, or so Ive read. This would mean that if she made it to the island with him, she likely suffered the same fate.
