Wish we knew the algorithm for breeding so I could make sure I'm making the best pairings to combine the traits. When you get up around 50% it gets really difficult to transfer all of the traits onto a foal. Here are a few tips I've come up with through the process that others might find helpful: Get yourself an equus (or other species, lower breeding cooldowns are better) for crossbreeding that is the correct body size and eye color. When I get a new trait that needs to be mixed in, I first funnel it through the equus (in future weeks if we try to create an equus, then a horse will be my crossbreeder!) to get the correct size and eye color with the desired trait on a horse. When crossbreeding, the foal will get traits (including mane and tail) from whichever parent is the same breed it comes out as (they can fail to inherit some traits like patterns, etc.), can get size from either, eye color from either; mane and tail will take after the parent breed. Having an equus to crossbreed with (because this week's challenge is a horse; in future weeks if we get any other equine I will use a horse for my crossbreed because they have lowest gestation time) also allows me to "clean" my breeding lines if I need to to keep them going. I like to get the correct mane, tail, eye color, and size first before worrying about traits because once both parents have those, the foals will always inherit them. Whereas mom and dad can both have a trait like Neck Fur, but the foal may not inherit it. So I like to lock down the "guaranteed" things (size, mane, tail, eye color) first. That also goes for when I introduce a new trait (like Head Diamond marking, or Layered Hoof Fur) into the gene pool. That is why my first step is always to crossbreed and try to get correct size and eye color. Then I work on getting correct mane and tail with the new trait I'm breeding in and work my way up from there. Brother and sister from same mom and dad can breed with each other, so one way to keep your breeding lines going is to get a male and female with all desired traits from the same pairing. (Trust me, that can take forever when you've got 9 or 10 traits to pass down!) I haven't tried to breed the right colors yet, but I would probably use crossbreeding to do it. It's how I've been getting new colors onto my personal projects, since it feels like a better chance to keep the traits I want than when breeding same species (since you can end up with extra traits from the new parent that you may not want, and at the very least crossbreeding "locks in" your mane and tail, when the outcome is the correct species).

I had a horse that had 25%, but it did not give me the predictable foll potion. I think it's probably because I inserted 2 horses. But I'm still confused on why now I'm very upset.

they did - i got it in the same way, just had to keep breeding to get more traits, took a few hours longer
