  • A quick walk around my Rotec R2800 radial powered Bowers Fly baby, two seater.
I've been flying this awesome airplane since 2005 to date. In this video I go into some of the details about the two seat version.
For more on this airplane and the Rotec engine.

    Beautiful aircraft.
How suitable is it as a build and flyer for (Aussie) novices ?

The Flybaby is all wood, most folks with moderate skills can easily build one with patience and persistence. Lots of support in the Fly baby group

Beautiful aircraft! Thank you for sharing that video of her. Just one question... Is the fuselage built of wood? Sure looks like it from your cockpit coverage. I thought the Hevle Brothers built a steel tube fuselage. Anyway, really lovely aircraft. Like you say... it's a wonder more weren't built as a two-seater. Thanks again!

So from what I have read, the Hevle brothers built the first "Hevle Classic" out wood, so as to better modify the existing wooden Fly Baby design.
And then, while they sold plans, I don't believe they ever sold kits of the Hevle Classic, nor did they build a steel tube version.
Too bad, as it seems like the most refined, tandem Fly Baby out there
