whether it's RUclips or social media, it seems like we've arrived in the era of videos / moving pictures. as a writer and illustrator, i find that i don't really want to make videos of me making the art, and the only other option for me to dive into seems like animation. it just feels as though while we're here and i love connecting with others online, something still feels like my work isn't being optimised in this time and space. i can't find the energy to learn videography or film myself, and that sometimes makes me feel like i'm missing out on something bigger. i know we all need to adapt to move forward, yet i can't help but to feel like i still don't fit in somehow.
It’s understandable, it’s a great thing to be connected but I definitely need breaks from the internet too! I envy my artist friends who can make a living without social media, it’s definitely possible still in this era! I just wanted to share my perspective on how I have got my foot in the door ~ It can take a lot of energy to learn the basics for video editing and filming, I hope you can find a groove ~
THIS, this encapsulate how I feel, I wan't to make a living with my art, I don't feel like being a internet personality because it is just not my thing, and these last days I've been wondering that if in order to succeed I'll have to deal with it even if I don't like it or otherwise I won't be able to obtain a following to sell my art
The other option in my opinion to run a project where several people bring value to it - one as a writer, the other one as a animator , the other one is musician etc. Think about it! On a long run, doing something that you dont enjoy probably isnt the best strategy. Working in a team may multiply the value the project may bring!
"My whole job is time management" couldn't agree more for freelancing, always at home becomes always at work or time I should be doing work, balance is the real struggle but we got this. Great insight & congrats at 30k!
I used to be freelance artist. It has many pros and many cons, but I loved it. I had to find a job after pandemic but I am again on my way to become freelance artist. Thank you for encouraging us.✌️
It's not easy to adapt to the current trend of those short videos, which typically only last 10 to 15 seconds nowadays. As a RUclipsr, you need to carve out your own way and create a unique style to stand out from the many similar creators. Creating special content is a must, but it's not enough. Although I'm not a RUclipsr or a content creator myself, I've been considering trying it before the end of this year or next year. I'm aware that new RUclipsrs often have to sacrifice money and time, and it takes a brave heart to actually take the plunge. I really enjoy the sound and tone of your video. It's very comfortable, and the mood is simple but not boring. I will definitely continue to follow your channel and learn from you. Cheers!
Thank you ~ So true, it’s not for everyone but if you can use it to your benefit I’d highly recommend trying! I don’t recommend people to use their face/voice at first if you feel uncomfortable with having a digital identity but you can ease into it There are many successful creators and artists who stay anonymous on the internet! All the best to you!
i love how each frame of your videos are so engaging!!! theres always something happening, whether it's a new angle, sound effect, movement, etc!!! jus wanna let u know we see it and appreciate it so much
Enough cannot be said about having a dedicated time to work without distractions. That allows my brain to get into “work mode” and I feel like I am more creative.
Really inspiring and so glad to be here at the “start” of your YT journey. I wonder if any similar videos come out like this one that you could discuss how much you saved up before quitting, money management, experiences around budgeting in and between work if getting paid is lumpy and maybe how you plan on growing your income if that’s a goal 👏👏
This is crazy inspiring! As someone who is new to freelance and am trying to figure out how to navigate it, i find watching your videos really motivating and reassuring. Kudos to you legend!
I am loving my DJI mic setup. It's really come in handy and has increased the quality of my Audio so much without even having to mess around with the sound.
Bro should consider a fellows electronic temperature measuring kettle, it’ll help your coffee taste even better when you’re extracting at just the right temp. Major unlock for flavour. Nice video by the way - if I haven’t already posted 😂
Couldn't agree more about consistency and time-management! Thank you for the great video, still figuring what works best for me but encouraged by your videos!
Colour grading is amazing! Also could you make a video about your Suzuki Jimny? Have you ever been camping with it? Cheers and keep doing what you're doing!
Thanks for the nice video! I am managing several art projects as a hobby and your video made me thing - which one I would love to do as a fulltimer? It may help me focus on the main project and put away some other activities that take my time even if they bring some pleasure..
I'm really enjoying your videos! Your videos are always creative and inspiring to me. Color grading is so cool, too. I have a question. Can you tell me which one you use to shoot vlogs outside, dji microphone or Sony ecm-m1 microphone? When I saw vlogs of travel to Japan and Seoul, I was wondering because I don't think you had a dji microphone on your clothes, but the sound quality is pretty good. I always enjoy watching your videos and I also follow your Instagram. Thank you.
To EVERYONE doing their own thing out there, you got this 👊🏼
If you have the passion to make it work, it will ~
can I ask for the font you use for your thumbnails?

Can you make a video about your freelancing and being a RUclipsr? How you time manage that?

You should record audio with lower gain. It sounds like it’s peaking at times. -6db is a good limit.

Where do you clip on your DJI mic? We used some the past couple of years but the green light from the mic showing up in the video has not been ideal.
I use a lapel mic so I can hide the actual DJI mic, I don't like the bulky look of it!
hey man, just wondering. do you shoot in log when you make the videos? or maybe adjust the setting like contrast. I want to step up my work!
Yup everything is shot in log!
