Basically we have “primary” schools and “secondary” schools. Primary schools are for the younger kids, maybe 5/6 or six years old to about 10/11. Then secondary is for the older ones, right up until 16/17. What a lot of schools nowadays do though is they will also act as a college, so kids right up to 18/19 will still study there if they are doing further education. We also call them “years” not “grades” as you do in America. Secondary school starts from year 7 to year 11. Primary school is from year 1 to year 6. You get the picture.

Thought I'd point out the reference to Harry Enfield in case you missed it... Will gets called Cholmondley-Warner by the garage owner and later by Wolfie. Mr Cholmondley-Warner is a character in the black and white 1940's style sketches he does with Paul Whitehouse. I know you love those two!

On the subject of checking oil levels. Back in the day (almost forty years ago) I was a biker, my mate, also a biker, had a girlfriend who was also a biker. She rode a two cylinder Kawasaki, I believe 350cc, quite a small engine. She rode from Aberdeen to Bristol , just under 500 miles, a long distance for a bike especially a small one. It is imperative to check and top up the oil on such a journey. Like most modern bikes, no dipstick just a small window on the side of the crankcase marked to show maximum and minimum levels for the oil. Thing is, you must put the bike on the centre stand on level ground to get an accurate reading. She was unable to do this and being a feminist wasn’t about to ask some man to help her. Upshot was she ran the poor little engine practically dry of oil and effed it up. It would have cost more than the bike was worth to get a garage to rebuild the engine so the feminist’s bike ended up being rebuilt by her boyfriend in my garage.

The kid isn't 9 years old, he's in Year 9 - which would make him 13 or 14 years old. In the British school system the first six years are spent in Primary School. At the end of Year 6 (aged 11) they transfer to Secondary School for Years 7 to 11 (ages 11 - 16). 16 is the end of compulsory education, some kids (like Will etc) stay on for another two years until they are 18. Officially they are in Years 12 and 13 but these years are often confusingly lumped together as "Sixth Form" which is a throwback to an earlier system when the numbering used to start again at one at the beginning of Secondary School. Confused? You're welcome!
Young kids in the UK, only tend to give it the big un if they are somehow connected. Be it through a hard brother, uncle, or someone they know whose connected, or they come from a rough council estate, where everyone knows each other.
The “kid” is 12 or 13, in Australia , we have primary school years 1-6 (age 7-12) then high school years 8-12 (age 13-18). I assume it’s similar in the UK
You seem meant for each other (love and care). In Sweden, we have no dating rituals, unfortunately. A little more of that when I was young (born in 1949), as well as a little more "traditional". Today everything seems so 'flat', everyone is sort of 'the same' and yet everyone is so individual and no one meets with implied (common) rules of the game. Speaking of the "smell", we used to call it "horny fog", because the windows of the car fogged up.
Gilbert going out the room to laugh is brilliant in this episode 😂👍

It's nice to see 2 people so obviously in love. YES YOU 2, NOT THE VIDEO.
The UK doesn't have Middle School, basically. High School (Secondary School in the UK) is ages 11-16. The kid fighting Simon is probably a Year 7, so 11 years old.
13.53 just a fyi to queen boomer..no such thing as "British accents , Britain isn't a country , they're are four countries in the UK alone , , and we all have either Scottish accents, English accents, Welsh accents and Northern Irish accents ..👌
I also at school was a nerd who was an athlete ( Sprinting and hurdles) and the third thing to add to my snowball is i was a metalhead / goth kid.
I’m going to keep commenting that you both would really enjoy Gavin & Stacey (3 series, 6 episodes in each and 2 Xmas specials, Xmas special 3 this year and the finale)
It would be quite a shock for them, the only time James Corden was likable.
he's already been watching Gavin and Stacey on Patreon
@TheGrimmCommoner he's still likable

For something you'd both like I'd recommend Peter Kaye's Car Share which I think is easily his best work and I like all of it.
3 seasons of The Cleaner you need to watch with Greg Davis as the main character
you usually spend 12 years at school..4 years in primary school, 4 years in middle school and 4 years high school.. 5th form is optional
That short arse kid went on to be on a British soap called hollyoaks
King boomer resumes the video at 6:30 and I’m like shit I forgot this was an inbetweeners reaction
When queen boomer hear things in the kitchen i hope its not a ghost in the house just a general noise even with dishes ect as i love king and queen boomer both are awesome people
Lol yes that is the same little kid
As this is after the Christmas party, it’s probably about halfway through the year, so it’s 50:50 if Hannah is 15 or 16
She’d be in the 6th form with them in Season 3 if she stayed on to do her A levels.
32:05 brother I got secondhand embarrassment for you there 😂 he did an oil change for her. He wasn’t showing her that he managed to get the oil to the right level. He was showing her how clear the oil is as it is fresh oil….dude….😂😂😂
Even as an adult, I've never received a Valentine's card/gift my entire life.
Men like valentine's day too
Well I’ve never met a girl so that’s even worse lol. It’s a struggle for us men 😢
The kid isn't 9 years old, he's in Year 9 - which would make him 13 or 14 years old.
I really needed this today🥹
Primary school 6/7-11 years old
High school 11-16
Six form 16-18
University 18+ ( your college)
Like those QB
Young kids in the UK, only tend to give it the big un if they are somehow connected. Be it through a hard brother, uncle, or someone they know whose connected, or they come from a rough council estate, where everyone knows each other.
I come from a family of fairgrounds workers and we're all connected to each other and fiercely loyal and protective
@@JohntheLNERP2 just say pikeys
With these young guns they know even if you're the hardest in the school and have no back up, they know they can on average get away with it.
That was the same kid in the benefits kid sketch 👍🏻.
36.04 where she getting the number 9 from?? This is a secondary school 🤣 start at 12
I just love how much queen boomer hates jays dad.
In the thick of it needs a watch its brilliant
Yo King, looking to join you on Patreon, have you been recommended Lee Mack's 'Not Going Out' or Jason Sudeikis's 'Ted Lassos'?
The “kid” is 12 or 13, in Australia , we have primary school years 1-6 (age 7-12) then high school years 8-12 (age 13-18). I assume it’s similar in the UK
One girl posted a card to my house and I opened it and all this glitter went all over the floor, I had to hoover up.... Never found out who it was.
Elite tier comedy
the kid who beats up simon plays mitchell in bad education
Try a sitcom called still game
he did he doesn't like it
You guys should watch cuckoo with Gregg Davies!!!
13:34 all year 7’s where like this in British schools, I wasn’t like that but there are some people I can make who where like this
You seem meant for each other (love and care).
Where I was we had lower, middle and upper but they moved to the two school system cause it was cheaper and they struggled to get teachers lol.
