When I struggle with shame, I think I messed everything up. The story of the fall should definitely make us mourn and feel the weight of our sin, but I love that it’s not without a glimpse of how God uses his power for his people in his place. With the first animal sacrifice, God covers the shame and nakedness of his people. He is still in charge of this story. Even when faced with the consequences of my sin, I don’t need to hide in shame over them. I can stand in the forgiveness of my King, knowing that he worked his power to save me and redeem my story.
