Great vlog. I've just started fly fishing and live in Tasmania. I'm going to head up to Little Pine this season. Found your vlog to be full of great information, etc. Keep up the good work.
My stepfather used to guide around this area in his younger years, he always used to say little pine was his favourite spot of all in Tassie. I’ve never been there myself but your video gave me a sense of being there and enjoying what he did. Thank you 🎣
Great vid man. I personally have found flooded edges are perfect for tailing trout, especially first thing in the morning, when they aren't as scared to come into the shallows. Watching the flooded grass for a few minutes before casting or wading to see if there are any moving fish pays dividends. Especially in Tassie lakes
Ok We used have a holiday home near Little Pine it’s a beautiful part of the world up there . Just wish I had known what to use in terms of flies it’s very local Knowledge in each lake and a tip here and there certainly encourages beginners to enjoy the sport and boost the local economy there I loved the Pennstock video too Thanks for sharing a bit of your knowledge I used to have a beer and game pool at the Bronte hotel great area I miss it
Flew in from Qld a month ago. Fished the same spot as I am familiar with little pine and many other lakes, since I lived there 30years ago. Have walked the western side, too. Well, one of those days, tried wet and dry blind fishing, just no fish this time. Since those past times 30 years ago, I have fished NZ, Russia - Kamchatka, Canada, Slovenia, Slovakia, Austria, Sweden, Thredbo river NSW, but I have to say Tasmania is really unique. This time I fished Tyenna river. Waded a section maybe 500m difficult task, but worse it. A session of 3 hours fishing caught 13 fish lost a 4lb on dry actually I fished only dry. Didn't like the river section below fruit farm in Westerway. It had different colour of the water as above the farm. Could be the fertilizes? Hope not. Thanks for the video, it felt like walking and wading with you. Looking forward already for next year trip. 🤞🤞🤞
Another quality vid mate. You not only do so many variations of fish species, you go the extra mile to do the early hours, and share your information and advice. Can't get much better than that brother. You're a true legend, and I appreciate everthing you do. Cheers, I'm going out for the weekend, in the Murray. So fingers crossed. 🎣🇦🇺💚
My Guide Bill Beck owns one of the shacks on little pine fish within for seven days little pine and three or four of the others about 10 years ago fabulous place Bill is a great guide probably one of the best fond memories.
That’s great to hear! I know of Bill’s amazing fly tying skills, little pine is such a great fishery with plenty of other great fishing options close by that is for sure.
Great vid Lubin. It really adds value and extra interest the way you describe methods, technique, gear and casting. Thanks so much. I'll be there tomorrow.
Great vid mate! Beautiful brownies. Last time i was at little pine it was blowing a gale. october 2015. ifished loch style by wadind out and casting into the bank with the wind behind me. worked well. pt on point then bibio hopper then carrot on top. you just have to adapt i reckon to the conditions and the envvinment . nevever know what you are going to get in tassie. anyways im lovin your videos. really giving people the good oil on how and where to catch fish. Respect bro!
Great video Lubin. It’s been many years, but I’d love to get back to the pine. You were up pretty early, was there nothing on the dawn patrol? Used to be a few fish working those flooded edges with only a hint of a fin giving away their presence before the sun comes up. Those early morning tailers are one of my favourite things about tassie. Keep the videos coming. Excellent content and those opening sequences are crazy. No idea how you captured those esp that rolling cod. Wow!
Great clip mate👍 we are all on the plane tomorrow for two weeks in Tasmania 👌 been tying up gold sparklers all morning 😂 obviously to go with the other thousand flies I’ve tied haha once again good job
Hey mate, not a fly fisher, have you employed similar strategies of wading out and casting back at the shore whist spinning? Great video, keep up the good work!
It’s crazy how some of those brown trout will smash something they want to eat, doesn’t matter where you are.. New Zealand, Tasmania, USA they’ll always smash a fly or lure!
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 when ever you’re back in New Zealand and fish around the Otago Region well link up and film some content. Fished this area for 16 years, personally I’d say it’s top 10 regions in the world for Brown Trout fishing
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 fingers crossed, be good to get a trans Tasman option. Get you here to the Mackenzie Country for some winter rainbow trout fishing!
So good mate! It depends but usually no more than 30 seconds. Most of the takes will generally come within a few seconds after it plonks on the surface.
Can I ask... Who the F##K gives this a thumbs down??? Surely we need to find this miserable character and give him 10 cents to make him smile... FFS, what do they want for free, from someone having a go and putting himself out there...
I know right hahaha no one is making them watch it. I’ve had lots of great comments from people that have learned stuff from the episode so I just pay attention to them!
Great video Lubin. LPL is my favourite FF destination. In fact currently here fishing it. Gold Sparkler fly being tied right now to this pattern ruclips.net/video/64Lo16yYifQ/видео.html which I think looks pretty close to your version. I left the sparkle threads longer like a woolly bugger.
10:22 What a great take!

Great vid, will be fishing Tassie early next year and can't wait. What Reel were you using? Thanks for this great footage
Thanks for watching mate! That reel is a lamson liquid, great value for money
Awesome mate loved it. Could you do a bream on fly video?
Cheers mate. I’ll see how I go for time while I’m done here 🤙🎣
Nice fish !
I like that old dry fly but you didn’t show us all the Gold Sparkler as you named it lol
Thanks Mark, The sparkler is just a woolly bugger tied out of gold flash
Will have to give it ago.:)
Good luck!
The Rocks have saved many a day at the Pine!
Amazingly consistent hey 😅
Hey mate, not a fly fisher, have you employed similar strategies of wading out and casting back at the shore whist spinning?

I don’t usually spin for them but would definitely fish the edges the same if I did. Thanks for watching mate!
Another terrific vid in a great location. What does your Gold Sparkler look like?
Thanks mate! It’s just like a woolly bugger but made entirely of gold flash

How good is Tas! Hey one question, when you're searching with a dry, how long do you leave it before recasting? Thanks for the great content.
So good mate! It depends but usually no more than 30 seconds. Most of the takes will generally come within a few seconds after it plonks on the surface.
can you give us a link to tie the golden sparkler please mate?
There’s a link someone posted in the comments below 👍🏻
Showed me how to fish Little Pine
Awesome!
i have the same rod
Do you think about fishing when you're fishing?
Only sometimes 😅

Very well said!
