So.. what happened here? Last night I was particularly upset for a personal issue and therefore I couldn’t sleep… which resulted in this odd video. This is why I love editing so much, there are times I am stressed out and anxious but somehow editing can calm me down. It can give me so much joy and serenity, more than therapy has ever achieved...
Anyway I swear I have no idea what I have done, does it even makes sense? I won’t say I enjoyed the way this tragic love triangle has been portrayed BUT still I found it quite intriguing.

@@Wacth478 He was not her soulmate. If they have lived maybe he would have been her Onassis. Hasnat Khan was her soulmate. Khan 's family rejected her for being divorced and not Muslim. He was foolish enough to listen to them and broke off their relationship. Diana was showing Khan that another Muslim man wanted her and his family did not mind her status. Her good friend she took a cruise with to Greece just 2 weeks before her death said Diana told her that she still wanted Khan. she also said Diana was not pregnant as she was on her period when they were on the cruise. She knew this because they shared a 2-bedroom suite with a shared sitting room and bathroom.
They so need to be a couple in another movie or show. The chemistry between Emma and Josh is amazing. They showed that there was love in their marriage but marriages fall apart. I think the crown should have shown more happy moments between them because there were many photos in the earlier years where they looked in love. It was in photos a few years after Harry where they looked really unhappy in their marriage

They knew their parents were separated, they probably heard them fighting, but I'm sure they didn't know the half of it.

I was starting to kinda like Charles in s3, but now I'm back to hating him. He says such awful awful things about Diana... Idk if the real Charles said things like that about her but... Poor Diana... She loved him, but he didn't. He liked her, and choose to purpose, but only had a couple of dates... He probably thought love would follow, but he only made her miserable, though they had some good moments.

Honestly... same! In S3 I kind of liked Charles (the episode in Wales was quite good), but this season he has become such an asshole, envious, quite abusive and childish. The audacity of the argument in the final episode... No words.

Exactly! The way he places himself as the victim, complains about Diana seeing other men when he's been cheating on her since day 1. The way he calls her stupid and boring and all those awful things. The way he's so jealous of her, instead of being proud and grateful. All I could think during this season, especially at the end, is how much of little shit he is.
I wish we had seen more of their happy moments tho, like when when Diana was pregnant with Harry, they got closer for a bit.
Mostly, for the next season, I hope to see William and Harry angry at their father, cause if I were them, I would have been.
The point is that S3-Charles and S4-Charles look two different characters. I would have loved to see on screen how that kind, sensitive guy of last season became this terrible man, and since he's a major character it would have been appropriate.
@S Robin I think Camilla obviously has feelings for Charles, but perhaps not as much as he does. We can't forget that being the mistress must have gotten her quite a bit of hate. Personally idk how to feel about her. Cause she knew Charles was married, yet she wouldn't cut him off (as a woman, I wouldn't want a man to cheat on his girlfriend/wife with me) but Charles is the one that cheated (Camilla and Andrews marriage was different, I think they had an agreement or something), most of the blame is on him. This is all so complicated, especially since we don't personally know these people. But Diana deserved so much better.

From the beginning with the three sentences pronounced by the actress who plays Camilla, we know that it is a story that is going to be sad and especially it summarizes this love triangle.

It is interesting to me how in fiction/literature/TV, it is usually that forbidden love that withstood the test of time and made it out together in the end, that you root for. But Charles and Camilla managed to do the opposite in real life.
Anyway, amazing video!!! I immediately thought of this song when watching this season, it fits so much. I suppose Charles at least wished he could give Diana what he had already given to Camilla...

For some unknown reason, what doesn't seem to be discussed a lot is Diana's emotional state. I believe there was a time when Charles and Diana were properly in love and Camilla wasn't even in the picture. However, Diana had real emotions that Charles was probably not able to handle or respond well to and as a result, saw her bulimia and post-natal depression as dramatics, not fully understanding that she was in real pain and needed reassurance from a loving husband. they both had a real love and could have made it work, and possibly had gone on to have more children, including the daughter Charles wanted so much, and grown to understand one another in their marriage and what the other needs to be happy.

I'm not an expert on Charles and Diana but I'm not sure if there ever was a moment Camilla was not in the picture since from what I know before the wedding she heard him on the phone with Camilla saying "Whatever happens, I will always love you"... Sure there were times they were happy (Diana herself said that), but I'm not sure there ever was a chance for them to have a successful marriage
My opinion as well, finally somebody also said exactly how I feel. They could have made it work. And I don’t believe Charle’s “only my Camilla true love”narrative, she had other mistresses and “true loves” like Kanga.
Yeah I agree as well, there were times where their connection shined through, but I think the pressure on Charles to marry Diana and act like a King/Crown Prince was too much on top of his own issues and insecurities. Remember that these days, the monarchy has to justify itself every day since there's a totally effective democratic system in place. I think Charles just wanted an escape and to be understood. he may have been born into the Royal Family, but he was not born to be King.
I totally disagree, I don't think he ever truly loved her. He did possibly intend to make it work at first but only because he couldn't have the woman (or possibly the two women) that he truly wanted because of their pasts and status

I believe the acting is better than real life because in real life I know Charles never looked at Diana with that kind of love and admiration even for a sec. The actors are good and the chemistry is great. But the real charles and diana never had that love and chemistry :(

@@rakeeshsharma2925 it’s true. I’m a strong believer that those that are in a lot of pain and deserve way better end up dying more younger than usual. Not because of suicide but because they shouldn’t be here on earth to suffer.
This also makes my heart sad considering how PTSD affected Lady D's life.... post traumatic stress disorder are real guys. She fight and fight the strong occurences on her life, she faced it up.

I read Diana’s book AND Lady C’s book on Diana plus watched this series and all the comments. I once thought perhaps the RF had some legitimate issues, i no longer feel that. I listened to Diana “in her own words” as well, and i find Diana’s version more plausible than most others. Whether Charles was sleeping w Camilla in the beginning of their marriage or not, his HEART belonged to Camilla, there is NO WAY to compete with that. This is a “docudrama” most intelligent people understand that! The message “in general” is likely quite accurate, mismatched couple with a teenager and middle aged man, family in sanitariums for the sake of perceptions and so on. The RF is fortunate many more unsavory scandals were not addressed. all in all season 4 was very “entertaining” excellent acting and if ppl truly want to know the truth, likely Buckingham Palace will NEVER reveal it, EVER... and this is the end result, fact mixed with fiction... pretty much like the perceptions of the RF public life (fiction) private life (real).
Yeah I do too think Diana and Charles's wedding has been cursed from the very start. Maybe Camilla was still in love with her husband, maybe not, but sure Charles was in love with her (I mean Diana ever overheard him saying "Whatever happens I will always love you") as he had been for years (and yeah I know he was not "faithful" to her and had other mistresses but I still think in the end he has loved Camilla more "the non-negotiable" part of his life). I also think that Charles and Diana had happy moments in their life and were happy at times (Diana too confirmed this), but in the end there was never a chance to have a successful marriage

Initially, this marriage was doomed to failure. Diana was going to live a long life filled with love, tenderness, care, affection and warmth. And Charles.... Charles loved, loves, and will love. But not Diana. You can't control your heart. Love is love. But life, damn it, is not fair.
Charles has always loved Camilla and will always love him and she has always loved and will always love her. It's tragic that he had to marry Diana because she would probably have much happier life with someone else but he didn't have choice. I'm glad that he is finally happy with love of his life ❤

I honestly believe that if it hadn’t been Diana, it would’ve been any other sweet, pure hearted woman. She was absolutely perfect for the role as the Princess of Wales and future Queen, she was everything people wanted to see in a royal but 100x better. Charles always loved Camilla and would’ve cheated on any angel that would’ve been unfortunate enough to be trapped in a marriage with him. It honestly disgusts me so much. I don’t care if he didn’t marry her with bad intentions or tries to save the marriage at times, he, unlike her, actually had the power to call things off and not go through with it, but didn’t. Knowing damn well that it would end in chaos. It was just so unfair. Her naiveness was completely abused and the show does not reflect the truth 100%, but in our hearts we all know that there must have been a million fights like the ones we saw before both of them snapped and called it quits. It’s just all so sad

Let's not act like he fully loved Camilla though..he had no problem leaving her and choosing being a prince. Their relationship is kinda like the one of Kate and William: cheating and leaving on multiple occasions. William and Charles are the same: they are selfish and self-obsessed. The relationship between Charles and Diana is highly romantisized on the show, I truly doubt he ever even loved her.
Personally, I think William handled his marriage a lot better than Charles did. In interviews you can tell that all of the precautions he took were a result of what happened to Diana. (allowing her to back out if she needed to, ensuring she was comfortable in the family and making sure that her parents were stable and included ect) because those are all things Diana never got. Also William and Kate were a lot younger than Charles when he met Diana so of course there were going to be mistakes in the beginning. Charles was almost thirty so he was probably in a bit of a rush to get married hence his family pushing him and rushing into it. I don't know or care about Camilla a lot but since once they were allowed to be together they stayed together to this day I think they should have just let him get on with it and marry camilla in the first place

They got back together in the mid 1980s, when Charles' marriage broke down and Camilla's husband was away, cheating on her with countless women.

I feel so sorry for both of them. Diana was just used by Crown and tied in unhappy marriage. She didnt deserve it. And Charles? I am also sorry for him because he was obviosly pushed into marriage but he loved Camilla so much and it was clear that he is just unhappy with the situation.
The thing that really bother me about Diana is that she knew already of the affair between Charles and Camilla before her wedding and therefore wanted to call it off (which would have spared all of them a lot of pain) but not even her sisters supported her in this saying it was "too late". She was practically a child and no one stood up for her in this messy situation. Charles on the other hand was an adult man in his 30s who married a teen knowing he did not and would not love her ("whatever in love means") ever and who did not care about her mental issues. But yes in way I do feel sorry for him too...he was under severe pressure of marrying and producing heirs and married out of duty to the country (which is madness in the 20th century but not in that family...). Now that he's married for love he seems to be in an healthier and happier relationship.

They said that the joint vacation with Dodi was just a show for Charles - Diana hoped until the end, even after the divorce, that maybe she and Charles would get back together, that they still have a chance, that the "relationship" with Dodi would make Charles jealous. Unpopular opinion, but I think every single one of them is to blame for the entire shitshow (including people who had no business sticking their nose in it, i.e. Dickie and the royal squad). Charles should not have let himself been influenced by his family, Camilla should not have married Andrew in the first place, Diana should not have chosen to overlook the big ass warning signs (that bracelet, that meeting at the cafe when Camilla all but spelled it out for her). You can blame Charles and Camilla for the affair and caring more about each other than about Diana, but you can't say they were subtle or secretive about it, even before the wedding. Diana was too young, she was naive and in denial, and then tried to fight for something that was clearly never hers to begin with. Basically what this proves is: love brings out the worst in people, it makes you selfish and also stupid and blind to things you don't want to see or acknowledge.
