- About five years ago I started making cameras. In this video I want to show you parts of the process, from start to finish. Everything is handmade.
I build all my cameras in quality wood like walnut, cherry or other suitable hardwoods.
These handcrafted wooden cameras are used for wet plate photography.
You can find more information about my cameras on my website

You are a very skill woodworker, what you do here is very nice. Thanks
Fantastic........bravo
I will not complain about the length of the video. 35 minutes just flew by and not only that, I learnt so much from it although you didn't explain, you showed very clearly each step of the process. Just by following along I feel like I can make one now :D
its beautiful
Amazing, I wish to make a 16x20 camera one day for wet plate and film
Despite all the DIY tools, very labour intensive. Also @11:11 try using a drinking straw as it also collects the old glue and you can even squeeze one end to get into corners.
Excelente trabajo muy bueno y preciso
Muchas gracias
Excellent video, thank you.
Thanks
Удовольствие смотреть, как творит мастер!
Wow 😍🙌
Thanks :)
Work of a Master. Thank you for the vídeo.

Through 35min. I was followed all the steps from A to X of how a view, wooden camera are perfectly made with inaccuracy still final fishing, of the whole wooden camera, and the square bellows, plus the ground glass, I would like to know what kind of the abrasive materials which are used in making the ground glass, I'm so glad to see such a wonderful useful video, that needed to remember us the origins of photography, Thanking you so much, for the great and perfect effort, my congratulations for your awesome especially application of art manipulation, hoping a continuation of success for the coming generation.
beautiful... wow!
Thank You :)
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing the process. I really like your method for making the bellows. Could you reveal what sort of material have you used for the inside layer?
Holy shit that's amazing.
My Sincere compliments wonderful work

Hellige makrell, Dieter! Helt sykt vakkert håndverk! Keep it up!!
Tusen takk :)
Félicitations pour ce très bel ouvrage! laurent
That is beautiful work.
Thank you very much!
Craftsmanship at its best!
Very educational video for anyone who wants to get started with a project like this, even though I miss some footage concerning the plate holder which is a difficult part to make. From which material is the insertable light lock made?
Many thanks for sharing your work!!!!
If you focus by making the rear standard move, doesn't the focusing rail stick out and get in your way of viewing the ground glass?
amazing
wow what a piece of art this is! Looked like a fun build with so many techniques! Really liked how you made the concertinas, the wood choice and the use of brass. What was the powder used to cloud the glass? Best video yet! Also would be great to see some photos this camera takes.
Thanks, appreciate it. The powder is aluminum oxide. Will make a video on using the camera later :)
Dieter Schneider look forward to it!
Great job!!! Gracias!! Did you make also the tripop? Cargaste algun video de tripod?
Beautiful work brother.
Amazing work! May i ask you for how long have you been a carpenter?
Amazing❤️
Wow, beautiful work and amazing craftsmanship. This was a joy to watch. How many hours did you put into this piece?
This is awesome! Nice build. 👌
Thanks, much appreciated
awdsome
Genius. I looked around for a better word. Couldn't come up with one remotely adequate. So, that's all I got. Apologies. Genius will have to do.
Wait, where does the SD card go?
It can only take micro SD due to the size
Dieter Schneider that makes sense. Haha
Micro SD card goes next to the battery.
excellent and very competent
Thanks
Hi!!! Congratulations for the wonderful work!!!! I'm starting some projects of building my own cameras, as well as i use and restore many cameras, including cameras from cinema, projectors, etc. i'd like to make some bellows i need.
What material did you use for the "spacers" and the outer layer fabric? It appears the one we call in Brazil "nylon 600". The same used to make bags, etc.
Thank you!!!!!!
Great
OK now so that again. And send it to me lol I need one
what materials did you use for the bellows? amazing craftmanship
hermoso trabajo, no entiendo mucho de cámaras fotográficas, pero hago trabajos en madera, bastantes más simples, felicitaciones, también me gustó mucho la música, ¿que banda es?
Wow, nice
Thank You
Hello. Beautiful work ! What kind of wood did you use for this camera?
