  • About five years ago I started making cameras. In this video I want to show you parts of the process, from start to finish. Everything is handmade.
I build all my cameras in quality wood like walnut, cherry or other suitable hardwoods.
These handcrafted wooden cameras are used for wet plate photography.
You can find more information about my cameras on my website

Despite all the DIY tools, very labour intensive. Also @11:11 try using a drinking straw as it also collects the old glue and you can even squeeze one end to get into corners.

Through 35min. I was followed all the steps from A to X of how a view, wooden camera are perfectly made with inaccuracy still final fishing, of the whole wooden camera, and the square bellows, plus the ground glass, I would like to know what kind of the abrasive materials which are used in making the ground glass, I'm so glad to see such a wonderful useful video, that needed to remember us the origins of photography, Thanking you so much, for the great and perfect effort, my congratulations for your awesome especially application of art manipulation, hoping a continuation of success for the coming generation.

What material did you use for the "spacers" and the outer layer fabric? It appears the one we call in Brazil "nylon 600". The same used to make bags, etc.
    Thank you!!!!!!
